I think fear is my weakness in drawing.
I need to remember to have fun while drawing and realize that my drawing might not come out the way I envisioned it, but that's okay.
Watching your videos, along with practicing and sketching everyday inspires me to keep on going!
    Thanks for your simple explanations!

I don't know if I've commented on one of your videos and said this already, but I just have to say, your guides been endlessly helpful to me. A couple years back I found your anatomy video and knowing nothing about anatomy (nor studying hard at all) at the time, it made me rethink how I drew entirely. I still have a long way to go but after far too long, I've started seriously practicing what I'm studying again and still, with all the sources I've found since, you remain one of the most concise teachers I've ever seen (without being vague and while encouraging experimentation). Your concise explanations have always been excellent refreshers as well, enough to properly teach or remind one of fundamentals and show them in practice, not so much dwelling on single points or drawings that they drag on. I know I'm just a rando saying this, not to mention I'm not great at drawing, but thank you so much. :)

I've found your channel yesterday, and I'm really enjoying your explanations. Most of other YT artists just draw digital fanart, and seeing you going the opposite direction of that is highly satisfying, especiallly because I prefer traditional myself (don't get me wrong, I like digital too, just tired of seeing it everywhere and all the time). Please, keep up with what you're doing. Cheers from Brazil.

Thanks a lot. That was very informative. Can I confirm that in addition to moving the figures in perspective with the vanishing point, you can also move them in either of the direction (up, down, right, left) anywhere on the canvas, within the each halves of the horizon level or on the opposite side of the horizon level. I noticed that happened at 12.57 and 13:14 time stamp of this video.

Where tf were you 10yrs ago when I was trying to learn?! I gave up but recently got back into art and BOOM you arrive. I am SO fucking happy that you're breaking this down to such a simple understanding. SO many videos back 10yrs ago were just so awful. It wasn't tutorials, just people immediately drawing extremely detailed and difficult work with very awful advice that is hard to understand. They just kept saying "keep in relation to this and that and this recedes back to there but then you maintain the measurement cause of this."
Made it fuckin impossible to understand and now.. I think I can begin practicing properly but breaking out of old habits at 28 is going to be a challenge!

For about half of this video, I was presented with stuff I already knew about perspective; I was disappointed. But, by 9:46, he moved the figure a smidgen to the right. I always freeze up when moving a character. That epiphany nearly melted my brain. I can't believe I doubted you, Alphonso. You're the best art teacher on UA-cam. Even better than my previous Fine Art "teacher."

    Mr. Dunn Thanks!!!!!!
my son's teacher gave him your name and we're following you because he loves to draw, he loves art....
it scared me sooo much that ALL he does is ART and DRAWING...
We're here in Columbus GA, from Albany GA a country boy to his little heart, very respectfully wonderful and is a 4th grader, I try my best to include him in some type of art or painting, sir I'm a nurse and rather stay in that field, but he doesn't Trace... he really draws.. I'm into supporting my loved ones, so I'll make sure my son meets you..
I'll tell you his name so when you meet him you'll know his name..
    It's Camron Oshea Player..
Sir he was drawing in class and got it taken up while in class and I punished him for drawing in class, It wasn't that I wanted to, but I took away his sketch books for one full day and he was hurt, he had cried really big tears..
    missnurse2u.wt@gmail.com
    Winterset Tyler on Facebook
I hope you really read this...
    good day to you sir.
    you're very talented..

Growing up as a kid none of my Art teachers taught me any of Perspective or Foreshortening skills, which is a darn shame. I would be a real pro at comic art if it wasn't for my teachers slacking off on what I wanted to learn in the 90's. :/
