I bow in respect to the craftsmanship that was put into this vehicule I live in Quebec, so there are zero cars like yours. I'd love to have one, but my pockets arent deep enough!
You should get a dorky sidekick for your Ecto videos. That really worked for me. ( ...said the Ecto owner with 20 views on his. ) You and Sean are pretty much the only two with an Ecto that could absolutely double for the original back in '83/84 when they filmed. There's a lot of good ones but you've got it down to the rear step and gas cap, things people don't think twice about. Great job Loren.
wow this beats the vid i just made haha, you did an awesome job with this thing!!! i hope you show more of the rear area, as well as the lights and siren!
Excellent replica! And on the correct vehicle too. Just out of curiosity, is the miller meteor futura duplex a 42" ceiling or 48" ceiling? What would be the height of the roof from the ground? 61"?
Its looks awesome you did a really good job putting that together funny for the longest time I thought that those red tub like things were the things that had made the sirens sounds 😄
Awesome job. nice to see dedication an passion to match every detail. the only problem I have is the music in this video it just to load. and made it hard to hear you at times. But really Amazing job!
How did you get so much information on the original prop parts? The Ecto1 is shown so briefly in the movie it seems like it would be impossible to identify everything.
@@TheAutoCollection That's exactly what I was thinking and if I can make a suggestion, I recommend using a pale chartreuse yellow for the storage tube and look at some pics and review videos of the Blitzway 1/6 scale Ecto-1. I also recommend using silver rubber-cal coin-grip metallic PVC flooring for the back interior. You can find flooring like that at Lowe's, Home Depot or Menards and you might want to make a reminder note of that.
I've seen a few ecto builds where they paint the tube yellow. I don't know why they do that other then it stands out better. there's one in a car museum in the next town over that had a yellow tube
Not a bad fan-made replica if I do say so myself. I am aware that 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex cars aren't easy to come by nowadays, but if I were fortunate to come across one in good condition on the outside and inside a little rusted that someone wanted to sell at a fair resonable price, I would definitely buy it, take it off of their hands and convert it into my very own film-accurate replica of the Ecto-1 down to the last detail and I would use the Blitzway 1/6 scale Ecto-1 as a reference model and the Haynes Ectomobile Owner's Workshop Manual to have something to go by.
Typo, it was supposed to read I can tell you. The Haynes manual is "in universe" parts, but misses some of them. Blitzway is a copy of the original and doesn't have proportions exact. So, the question is why use references that aren't the actual car itself?
@@TheAutoCollection There's one more thing, instead of using the orange & blue license plate for my Ecto-1 replica, I would've used the white, blue, & red license plate that was used for the Ecto-1 at the beginning of Ghostbusters II (2), more specifically, the scene when Ray and Winston were arriving at a birthday party, because I like that license plate better. Plus, it's more detailed than the orange & blue license plate. (click on the link below) cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1015/7033/products/001_ee99b944-3846-46e7-b78b-a9257dbdb2ca.png

Beautiful vehicle!!! I've been looking for a 59' but I've seen fewer and fewer over the years. I do have a 64' available... Do you think the larger rear fender fins and a few other items that make the 59' so unique could be added to the 64? You seem to know the vehicles very well!
Thank you! Grafting on '59 quarter panels is possible, but it would be expensive and might be involve some massaging to get the curvatures to line up with the rest of the panels.
I've read somewhere that his had it since 2012, 10 years next year! Oh I thought everyone knew it was from Ghostbusters, but have to remember that to most people "Ghostbusters" is nothing but a name, a "no ghost logo" and a theme song these days, so yeah Ecto unfortunately isn't the most remembered thing
@@TheAutoCollection I bet it's a coincidence and cool that 2009 also falls on the anniversary of the '59 model year. Agreed. The last two public sales of non-Miller Meteor Ecto replicas went for the same amount. If a Miller-Meteor does come up for sale at a public auction, I can see it bringing more.
I just watched some scenes from GB2 and the changes to Ecto1 were insane.. So many new lights and a dot matrix sign and tanks on top. I can see why you didn't bother trying to copy that version. Looks way too cluttered.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 exactly. But still, a part of me thinks it would have been cool if it was black! I’m not saying the Ecto-1 being white is bad, far from that! The Ecto-1 looks amazing the way it is! I just think a black Ecto-1 would look pretty cool! 👻🚫
This was nice surprise to see this in my recommendations on a Monday! Any plans for a part 2 of the historic locations tour (the ones in the first video look like miniature versions of the locations used in the first movie😂)? A little tadbit I learned about Miller-Meteor and one of their parent companies, is that they actually invented the wheelchair ramp for wheelchair users! Here's a brochure of it for one of their "sentinel" models: www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/1960-miller-meteor-cadillac-sentinel-518103450 Shows that Miller-Meteor themselves seem to have a bit of a connection to the disbaled and autistic communities IMO. As of course Dan Aykroyd himself being autistic, but a '59 MM has also appeared in Avril Lavigne's music video "I feel in love with the devil" (Avril has Lyme disease, which is classed as "disabled" in disability justice speak), a MM has also been used in what's eating gilbert grape (which is actually ableist to the autistic community) and of course in Extreme Ghostbusters (Garrett Miller, but I am suspicious of that because it's a pretrial done by able-bodied people) and the others have dropped out of my mind (and yes I am autistic myself, but it's not important to me)
@@TheAutoCollection UA-cam's algorithm got something to with it maybe? (Also not having alot subscribers would have something to do with it as well) Also about the back interior not being done and the dome and sniffer being stationary, I kinda like it as it gives me "less is more" vibes sorta... @@TheAutoCollection off topic, but thanks for not giving me a ableist response, as other times when I have touched on this sort of topic, people have responded defending their ableist veiws, instead of learning. But in regards to Extreme Ghostbusters, it kind of angers me as an autistic person how no one is talking about if the disabled representation of Garrett is accurate, because one such thing that concerns me is when he uses his disability to get out of being arrested by the police - not really setting a good example to able-bodied kids and *ESPECIALLY* kids who are disabled themselves!
