Ghostbusters van 2 times now using a 2008 Dodge Caravan.the first one about a year after I started doing it the motor blew out and the body was too far gone to replace the motor on top of how much the Bodywork would have cost.i bout a nother 1 the same colour with about half the mileage for 500 and needed a hell of a lot less body work.i Have a ridiculous box of parts that I still haven't had the money to have put on the van after a boat a year and a half.no Not life-or-death parts;) .i meen cosmetic stuff.i Use the van for work hauling scrap and i barely make enough to get from one month to the next lol so spending about 600 box having things wired and put on is it really considered as important as stuff like having the brakes and steering working;). if i win the lotto admittedly I wouldn't mind having one of those old mercuries but I don't know how far I go doing one up to look like the Ghostbusters car.iam not a big fan of a lot of the stuff on the roof I like the roof lights and the basic white and red body but admittedly I'm not wild about a lot of that plumbing and foolishness but I like some of the more practical things like the CB antennas and roof lights. Still haven't gotten my hands on a couple of old manual police car search lights for on the doors.i have an engine Bonnet with a remote Searchlight on it from the previous van. Ironically that light cost more than I paid for the other van and it was on the van when I bought it lol. Wireless remote Searchlight I've been trying to get a second one so it'll have one on either side matching but the damn light used I've seen them wanting 400 + 600 apparently knew it's over 1,000. Finding one of these old mercuries with that low amount of rest is just mind-blowing.
It has a beacon! Dose it work? When you do turn it into the 1A, what are you gonna do with it? Even though this question might be a bit more oriented towards those who are more interested in the history of these cars, but what is the brand? I have seen that the beacon they came with was from some brand, but I can't think of the name atm...
It does -- I would have ran it in the video, but the battery was really close to dead. Car barely started. I'll have to look for the brand. It did come with the car, so I'm thinking it's original. There's also a siren under the hood.
@@unfinishedstudios 😲 would be cool to hear the wailing siren as you said that the previous owner didn't include the siren and beacon with your 65 Ecto. Needs a little engine, shocks, brakes, brake lining, steering box, transmission rear end, hopefully only $4800.00 also rings, new mufflers and a little extra wiring.
you tell them "then you find a 1959 Cadillac M-M for cheap!"
answer is you can't!!
Tell me about it. I don't even think you can find one for any price. I mean, I guess if I had $500K to blow on one, but still...
@@unfinishedstudios well thats why we all fall back onto SUVs, station wagons & newer hearses/ambulances
sometimes old police cars too
Any updates on the ecto-1A project??
Gonna be doing a lot of stuff in the next 3-4 months.
Where’s the other part……
Working on it.
@@unfinishedstudios alright! Can’t wait to see. It!
Did it come with a stretcher for the proton packs?
It did not. I'll find one!
When is the next video about the car?
Working on it - subscribe! Probably at the beginning of summer.
Wow! Much love for the 1A here. How's it coming along?
About to go full swing into it.
How's it going with the Ecto 1a? Update please
Working on a new video!
You could always do a 2016 ghostbusters version 😂😂😂
I mean... if I found a 1990 hearse for like $500, you never know.
@@unfinishedstudios i didn't realise it was that late a model, I thought this one looked about right, goes to show how much of that movie I committed to memory..
Hey, do you have a link to a UA-cam upload of the background music you used here?
I think I just searched "NES Ghostbusters II soundtrack" -- none of that stuff is copyrighted (to my knowledge)
@@unfinishedstudios Ah, i see. It's just that it sounds so much like an 8 bit version of 'Cleanin up The Town' when not paying close attention to the actual rythym of the song
I always thought it was, too. It's the song that plays on every Ecto level in the GB2 Nintendo game.
Personally I haven't managed to scratch owning a hearse off the bucket list yet nearly had one a few times but besides the price being insane they were ridiculously rotten Beyond Salvage. Finding one of these old mercuries with that low amount of rest is just mind-blowing.
where do you keep getting these ive searched for them everywhere
They're out there. I mean... it took us almost twenty years to find these three.
Although it would be nice to see the beacon used somewhere or be donated to someone restoring a pro car. Like it makes me wonder what happens to the landau bars when people build Ectos, do they throw them out, do they keep them so if they sell the car, the next owner can turn it back into a hearse, or do they sell them to someone doing a restoration on a car of the same year...🤔
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 No idea. I've got everything we took off the '65, but it wasn't much. I'm not really planning to ever sell any of these cars, either, though. But you never know what'll happen.
@@unfinishedstudios I meant the original hearse/ambulance parts (that you have to take off, like the beacon on the '64 MM), not the actual cars
Hey why not you can fix the headlight problem why not just find the original front of the car and then put it on your original car that you have that has the headlights wrong and then you fix it and I would’ve been with a boom
Where did you get your ghostbusters uniforms?
A military surplus supplier. I got them a loooooong time ago. Like 2002/2003. They were the more expensive ones. The $30 ones don't look great.
