This is great! I've been a fan since the first Ghostbusters movie! I remember as a kid laying in bed not able to sleep watching the closet for ghosts. Seeing Adam's excitement and being like one of us is awesome!

Thank you for showing this beautiful piece in detail, I'm glad that backed the project. Only with the light sequence I hope that it will be revised because in Afterlife it is really a continuous running light rotating through the red windows, as you showed in the video "Adam Savage Inspects Ghostbusters: Afterlife's Hero Props!" and they should actually be able to do that with the LED fields. And in 1984 Mode, they should only flare up one at a time. But if every LED field has a light rotating one after the other, it doesn't look right. I also hope that they implement different speeds here, like in the 1984 film. But overall it is a really impressive prototype.
got 2 wands and backed one proton pack. I can't wait! So happy! Thank you for showing this.. I know it's a proto-type but it is so beautiful. Thank you Adam and Hasbro. Please please keep on updating or even do an update video during the way! Would love that! if not, still THANK YOU!
This really is incredible. Glad I backed it and so glad it’s funded. What an amazing commitment by the Hasbro team to make something we would all love and treasure.
I like the little features to where we could add anything to the pack. Part of me is wishing for them to also add the attachments for the shock blast, ooze blaster and collider from the video game. They already did the options on the wand. Go all the way. TAKE MY MONEY!!
20:46 It's a rare occasion to see Adam at a complete loss for words, but we all know that when that does happen, it means something very, very special and amazing has happened. Seeing Adam like this has put the biggest, goofiest grin on my face because he is all of us Ghostheads right now.
I absolutely love it and this video - thank you. I backed the pack and I’m glad it’s getting a release. Finally a 1:1 scale replica for a reasonable price.
Its so sweet seeing adam geek out like this! I soooooooo want ine of these and the wand but i just would give it the attention and love like real ghostbusters fans would.
I'm so glad you guys made this video.. I wasn't sold on buying this pack when it was announced with the stock photos, but this video has changed my mind.. Hopefully u guys change your mind and and the Alice frame to it.. either way, I'm getting it.. awesome jib.. I'm sold now!!
Yeah, without the ALICE frame it just doesn’t quite sit right. It’s sitting a little too low. My custom pack that I built was built to the original pack’s specs, and I can lean my head back and just graze the top of the crank generator box (the one with the turn knob top off center) with the back of my head. But it still looks fantastic. Switch out the straps and add an ALICE frame, and maybe upgrade the amplifier and speaker, and it’s perfect. Oh, and they need to change the rectangular rods to the hexagonal “pencil” shape rods as well. That would annoy me to no end lol
Yeah it's a bummer it doesn't come with one, but I guess I can understand how Hasbro isn't really set up to manufacture metal Alice frames. Either that or they don't have the rights to it.
@@davidjames1389 there's a lot of reasons why they can't, licensing, manufacturing, and the fact that the size of it will significantly add to shipping cost
In the year 2135, someone will show up on Antiques Roadshow with one of these that they found in their Great-Grandmother's attic. This is amazing! So happy we decided to back this. It can’t come soon enough! Just add a feature that stops the wand powering down please! It powers down much too quickly on standby.
Admittedly, I've never even seen Ghostbusters, but I'm incredibly impressed with this! The realism and attention to detail are things I always dreamed of toys having as a kid.
@@CallistaZM oh for sure! It's why i wish I could justify backing this... pack! But seriously... see these movies if you would like to be impressed by brilliant film making!
28:15 Wow, Adam's "that's great!" sounds just like Ray did in the first Ghostbusters when Venkman got slimed by Slimer! Which ironically was their first test of the proton packs as well.
Haven't quite finished the video yet, but when Adam turned it on, it occurred to me that a Bluetooth connectivity option would be awesome. To power it on and feel the room surge with power would be fun af.
I cant believe i missed this when it was backable.....i hope i can still get one someday. Absolutely a dream for a kid from a generation before such amazing reproductions....my proton pack was cardboard because they didnt even sell one when i was growing up.....i mean other than the little childs toy that was not a serious replica. Its so nice to see Hasbro letting its engineers do passion projects like this...
I am so pumped about this but please use the extra pack space to beef up the sound, that is crucial! Even if you charge a bit more please make it loud, or at least an easy upgrade to make it loud
For anyone on the fence... this is probably the most realistic proton pack you'll ever be able to buy especially for only $399. After December 12th, your opportunity will be gone forever.
Not really. You can get proton pack kits with the wand online for a little more than this. Sure you got to put it together and paint it but they better quality, more screen accurate and the paint job is a breeze.
@@standepain You pretty much backed up my point. That pack costs a lot more and you have to put it together and paint it yourself. This requires zero effort and is the most realistic pack available in that category and at that price.
@@standepain Proton pack kits with a fiberglass shell including the wand kit, lights, and sound board can start around $800 or more. This is the best value any Ghostbusters fan could ask for. My homemade pack cost nearly $400 and was made from recycled stuff from around the house. I did add the Hasbro Spengler's Neutrona wand last year, of course which added another $100 to my overall cost.
I really don't know why I'm so tickled about seeing the precision milling blocks used as a prop to prop up the proton pack.... Maybe it's the SoCo.... Lol But the absolute absurdity of using precision blocks to prop up such an amazing replica of a movie prop is just thoroughly enjoyable, thank you Adam for an awesome video and your genuine fan appreciation of something I so dearly love.
This is insane. I can't believe this is something that's going to be produced in quantity. He's absolutely right, the easter eggs are often some of the best parts.
Very intrigued by this but concerned that the pack itself doesn't seem to have that overwhelming THRUM when it gets switched on. For me, when a proton pack gets powered on it takes over the scene and definitely the few times I've been around an amazing replica pack in person. All I hear here is a whirring/clacking. I hope they can tweak the sound settings to replicate what's heard in the films
It's there at 19:35, but it doesn't have the required bass response to bring it out properly. Also 28:22 - it's very muted compared with the other sounds.
It's Definitely All About That Startup Sound, It's Just As Clear In My Memory as When I Seen it On Opening Night in 1984. and Every Time I Watch It, I Look Forward to That Sean in The Elevator !!!
I'm a bit worried about the speaker not being loud enough. It definetely isn't a loud speaker in the wand. I also hope it can play the ghostbusters tune too.
I actually appreciate that it's something that costs more but so it can be much more accurate rather than a dumbed down version of a thing. I think companies like Hot Toys and the like have proved that there's such a big market for that and it's really cool to see
@@Doctors_TARDIS Indeed. It also looks better here than any of the promo shots from the haslab page. If I didnt build my own kit I would consider backing the project. My only major concern is how durable the materials are here. I know my pack could take some punishment but I dont think this is something I'd actively cosplay in at a con or party. I own the wand and there are sections that feel a little too delicate. No hate towards Hasbro on this, it's a good value but like everything in life "you get what you pay for". I really hope they end up releasing a classic trap and pedal at retail in the future, would be 100% on board for that.
@@Doctors_TARDIS I'm not insinuating that its trash. It just feels brittle in spots, notably the front barrel. I'm also comparing it to my kit built wand that has an aluminum handle and barrel, and a very thick resin gun box. I'm glad Hasbro is doing what they are doing, no hate from this builder but I wouldn't trade my pack for 2 of these ones.
I preordered and this video has solidified my confidence that they will be worth the wait and money spent now. If you want one and haven't ordered one yet--DO IT! Funding it now is likely the cheapest you will ever get them before the funding window closes.

If I was on the fence about this in even the slightest bit before, this video put me over the edge. 100% worth the backing!
Same. Was on the fence, then saw this. Deal signed in the blood of Gozer.
I ALMOST missed out, I procrastinated until there was only 1 hour left before I pulled the trigger
This really is incredible. Glad I backed it and so glad it’s funded. What an amazing commitment by the Hasbro team to make something we would all love and treasure.
I hope that Hasbro can do one last Kenner re-release. The firehouse.
It's awesome to see Adam geek out and turn into a big kid like me. This is going to easily be the coolest toy I've ever owned!!!
I like the little features to where we could add anything to the pack. Part of me is wishing for them to also add the attachments for the shock blast, ooze blaster and collider from the video game. They already did the options on the wand. Go all the way. TAKE MY MONEY!!
That would be amazing.
Wish they would've made features like that as the unlockable tiers.

It's a rare occasion to see Adam at a complete loss for words, but we all know that when that does happen, it means something very, very special and amazing has happened. Seeing Adam like this has put the biggest, goofiest grin on my face because he is all of us Ghostheads right now.
Two of my favorite makers in one spot! Love seeing Warden with Adam. Great vid!
"What would you put in there?"
Twinkies, surely.
Twinkies and a few Crunch bars. :)
@@SpaceWizardCosplayYoy can hide your wallet in their as well
I absolutely love it and this video - thank you. I backed the pack and I’m glad it’s getting a release. Finally a 1:1 scale replica for a reasonable price.
I'm wanting a Phoenix pack
They said they are including the gear to connect the frame, it's not that hard to just grab one from a army surplus store or even Amazon for $50
Yeah it's a bummer it doesn't come with one, but I guess I can understand how Hasbro isn't really set up to manufacture metal Alice frames.
They won't know what it is, but they found out that it is NOT a part of the heating system. I am interested in finding out how the appraiser geeks out about it, and explaining it to contemporary audiences.
I love how humble Adam is considering he’s a celebrity himself. The sheer joy he shows for this is infectious. Adam, you’re a treasure.
March 2023!! 😢
I have the wand already, it’s fab 👍🏻
I love that everybody who visits is trying to avoid freaking out to be in the presence of Adam, and he's always freaking out about being in the same room as the guest!
Adam, you had me when you referred a designed open SWITCH as a "HUG." As an electrical engineer, I've never heard a switch being referred to as a hug. EPIC!!!
This is amazing! So happy we decided to back this. It can’t come soon enough! Just add a feature that stops the wand powering down please! It powers down much too quickly on standby.
So, so glad I backed this project. It looks amazing!
Watching Adam gush at this just pushed me to backed this project, it just means that the GB hasbro team did a lot of correct things for the fans. Ty
So happy ! Ordered mine! It's really a dream come true !
This Hasbro set looks friggen phenomenal. And after seeing Afterlife, I'm more stoked to finish my Egon cosplay
Admittedly, I've never even seen Ghostbusters, but I'm incredibly impressed with this! The realism and attention to detail are things I always dreamed of toys having as a kid.
Good reason to see it! The new movie is very good but I would highly recommend seeing the 1984 one first
...
HOW?!?!
that's like being a fan of lightsabers but never seen star wars???
I will mail you my Ghostbusters DVDs TODAY if you want!!!
@@RandomStuffGarage619 I mean, people can be impressed by brilliant engineering XD
@@CallistaZM oh for sure! It's why i wish I could justify backing this... pack!
But seriously... see these movies if you would like to be impressed by brilliant film making!

Wow, Adam's "that's great!" sounds just like Ray did in the first Ghostbusters when Venkman got slimed by Slimer!
Which ironically was their first test of the proton packs as well.
Amazing.
2023!? Damn, the marketing miss on that one but glad it's happening at all.
I so wanted the guy to put on Adam's pack.
The joy in Adam's face is priceless!
I'm still really impressed with how they made it so the Proton Pack powers the Neutrona Wand with no batteries in the wand needed.
And just think you're getting a proton pack that features sounds that were NOT in the film... Not even close to being accurate... 🙄
@@christopherniceley8848 well it's not made get and won't be delivered til spring 22 so maybe they'll change that by then
@@jesiahdechanel198 wrong. You're not getting this until 2023...
@@christopherniceley8848 well then that just backs me up even more that they will change it to what the fans want, 🙄 hahahah
Haven't quite finished the video yet, but when Adam turned it on, it occurred to me that a Bluetooth connectivity option would be awesome. To power it on and feel the room surge with power would be fun af.
That’s a great 👍🏼 idea
It would be awesome if they make the stand so it can be a wall-mountable bracket, not just a free-standing piece.
You have a hand drill and some brackets? Bam wall mount. Seriously though it would be nice to have that built in to the stand.
Woah, what an awesome guest. Hope you can work with them again, perhaps a trip to their workshop or studio?? 🙂
It is always fun and educational when Adam goes "Rain Man" about something.
I am so pumped about this but please use the extra pack space to beef up the sound, that is crucial! Even if you charge a bit more please make it loud, or at least an easy upgrade to make it loud
Just got mine today. They nailed it. Fantastic job. Just wish my Matty first gen wand would power it on.
Well, that just tipped me over the line. Backed the pack and pre-ordered the wand.
I was completely committed to making my own, inspired by Adam’s but this totally sold me on backing the project. Dammmmyouuuuuuuuu!!!! :)
Bummed Hasbro won't ship this outside the US. There is an Australian retailer taking pre-orders but the asking price is $1k!
I’ve backed it and I’m in the uk they do ship outside US look in to it
I really don't know why I'm so tickled about seeing the precision milling blocks used as a prop to prop up the proton pack.... Maybe it's the SoCo.... Lol But the absolute absurdity of using precision blocks to prop up such an amazing replica of a movie prop is just thoroughly enjoyable, thank you Adam for an awesome video and your genuine fan appreciation of something I so dearly love.
I love the versatility and use of my milling blocks.
Weights, rests, guides... love em!
I hope the start up sound is there when you flip the switch on the pack.
I hope Adam is getting a kickback on these because this is the best toy commercial ever!
I agree, leds are handy but incandescent lamps have a more vintage warmer analogue glow.
Final product will, this prototype still didn't have the sound board installed
Agreed. It needs that awesome startup sound that you get from the wand.
This.
I'm going to cry opening this when I finally receive it. I'm so excited to see the finished product with my own eyes!
Like a kid on Christmas opening the Kenner proton pack.
7 minutes. That's how long I was silently smiling like an idiot before I realized I was doing it. Amazing pack!
This is so bloody AMAZING!!!! I really want one along with the neutrona wand.
I'm a bit worried about the speaker not being loud enough. It definetely isn't a loud speaker in the wand. I also hope it can play the ghostbusters tune too.
Awesome video!!!! Thanks for showing the pack, and making me even more happy that I backed this Haslab project.
I actually appreciate that it's something that costs more but so it can be much more accurate rather than a dumbed down version of a thing. I think companies like Hot Toys and the like have proved that there's such a big market for that and it's really cool to see
Compared to building your own pack this thing is a fraction of the cost
@@Doctors_TARDIS Indeed. It also looks better here than any of the promo shots from the haslab page. If I didnt build my own kit I would consider backing the project. My only major concern is how durable the materials are here. I know my pack could take some punishment but I dont think this is something I'd actively cosplay in at a con or party. I own the wand and there are sections that feel a little too delicate. No hate towards Hasbro on this, it's a good value but like everything in life "you get what you pay for". I really hope they end up releasing a classic trap and pedal at retail in the future, would be 100% on board for that.
@@Turtlepower1982 I'm surprised to hear you say that about the wand. 1/3 of my local Ghost Corps use it
@@Doctors_TARDIS I'm not insinuating that its trash.
I am SOOO glad I backed this Haslab!
The extreme ghostbusters proton pack had a small storage compartment. It was probably it's best feature.
Just backed the pack before watching this video and I wish I didn’t… CAUSE IM THAT MUCH MORE EXCITED AND NEED IT NOW!!! 😂 already have the wand and was so impressed with it so the pack was a must especially at that price point. But after seeing this, the price is a steal and I cannot wait to have mine in hand.
Yeah. The wait is already killing me.
@@RichardKutz I hope since this was so successful that they do the trap, goggles and PKE down the road!
@@terrortoons7864 they released the ecto goggles last year, I have a set
@@codyt821 Really?! I didn't know that! i'll have to go look for them.
Can't wait to get this, but really wish Adam had asked about them making a Ghost Trap as well, since we're really needing something better than the cheap Rubies version.
Wow this looks incredible. Good thing I back on day one. Thank Tested for the early access of what I can expect.
I have lost count how many times i've watched this. I can't wait to get this in hand
Whelp, there goes another $400. Great video, thanks Adam and John. Incredible piece!
I really hope they nail it on the packaging. Artwork should be awesome.
Need this proton pack in my life!
Imagine if everyone was as passionate about their craft as these guys...
Hasbro 👏. Almost seeing Adam cry with happiness, when he saw the switch without function so that creators could add their own was amazing
