Brother......do not worry about what Anyone else says. What matters is that anywhere you go...everyone knows what this is. You are inspiring great childhood memories from everyone who see this. It looks Fantastic! And what is more...this came from your heart. You are helping to keep the dream alive. Dan Aykroyd would be proud. If ANYONE has the right to pick this apart, it would be him. And Trust me...to Him...you are keeping his dream and ideology alive. Keep at this, man. Well done!!! What a beautiful thing to see.
I've seen vans, cars, trucks and others modified into Ecto tribute vehicles. All are really cool. I have a suburban that I've been thinking about ecto-converting. It's all about the love of the films. I dig your car man, and can't wait to see more.
One thing I enjoy about any Ecto-1, despite it having many differences to the OG, is that it always has a TON of personality. I see Ecto-1's people make using something like a modern van and it still looks great to me. I can't help but love the craftmanship that goes into any Ecto-1, no matter the inaccuracies and I've seen so much support from fans all around. Even though your car isn't an exact replica, I still can't help but enjoy it as much as the actual Ecto-1.
Honestly for a bunch of kids just making this car for their own movie it looks pretty badass. No complaints here, my 8 year old boy loves anything Ghostbusters including your ECTO 1. Your daughter will love it too. Anyone who picks at the inaccurate build is bored with their life. Thank you for the updates, it's real cool of you to invite us in on your journey.
There’s a guy around here who has, I think, a green Kia Soul, as an Ecto-1. No emergency lights on top besides maybe small amber colored ones. Still awesome to see. The fact that you and your father even took the time to find an old Cadillac, and make it what it is now, is extremely impressive. I want to make an Ecto-1A, and for a while I was researching what was on the roof, trying to find a ‘59 or a ‘60, but the reality is, those cars are almost impossible to come by, and if you do they are really expensive, need a lot of maintenance, or both. Don’t let people criticize you for having inaccuracies. You’re not a giant movie studio with millions of dollars at your disposal, you’re a fan that wanted an Ecto-1. Most people who aren’t die hard fans wouldn’t even notice. They see the logos, they see the roof rack, and they are happy. At the end of the day, all that matters is you get pride and enjoyment out of the project you made. You did an amazing job, I didn’t even notice most of the inaccuracies until you pointed them out. And again, who cares? It’s still incredible
I bet this car puts a smile on everyone's face who sees it and that's what really matters. To anyone who nitpicks this awesome replica, how accurate is YOUR Ecto-1?
Hey man don't beat ur self up, it's a great looking ecto 1 we all wish we had one just like yours to admire every day, don't let jealousy stop u from enjoying and showing off ur ecto
I can imagine if there were Ghostbusters franchises that they would've used whatever large multi passenger vehicles were available. Pay the franchise fee and provide some of your own equipment that isn't conducive to finding and capturing ghost.
It's brilliant!! who actually cares if its not exactly the same as the original film, it looks great and I'm sure brings joy to anyone who encounters it!
You're wrong sir, your Ecto 1 is FREAKING AMAZING in all respects!!! I'm willing to bet people love that car and it brings everyone a smile...the ones that don't and nitpick just forget about them
From u.k. Don’t be so tough on yourself! You seem like a grounded down to earth bloke that done his best. Bloody difficult to replicate stuff, tools, tricks of the trade etc. I’m 66 now loved watching the movie with my two lads when they were young. I will send them this clip, I love anything about U.S. autos I was lucky enough to work in a Cadillac engine plant here in u.k. for ten yrs. Enjoyed it. Take care
I know people complain about the inaccuracies for your Ecto, but honestly, I think it looks great. The thing to take into account, for different franchises outside of the Ghistbusters in New York would have different vehicles that would be available to them (much like the original Ecto). So, if anything, you've made an Ecto for a Georgia franchise. I've seen an Ecto made with a Dodge Magnum, as well as other vehicles. Yours is unique to you, and that is why it's awesome. :D
I'm telling you man... I said it before, and I'll say it again. 3D PRINTING!!!, lol. I have ideas on how that could work. Please let me know if you'd like to hear it?
Have you seen the people that build ecto’s out of crappy sedans? Your car is fantastic, and even if it’s inaccurate to the original movie, it’s damn near exact to an equally awesome fan film, not to mention it’s got a great story behind it. If I saw this thing out and about, the LAST thing I’d do was nitpick over some details. Keep up the great work that you do
you built this project to please yourself not anybody else! your workmanship and creativity speak for itself!! I'm sure your daughter wont be able to wipe the smile off her face when you take her for a drive!
Dude, your car rocks. It's got the fan spirit. You and your Dad did a great job with it, and it sounds like you're still working hard on it. Keep it up. I'd love to know if you're ever down in ATL with it.
Actually I just bought a 1965 Cadillac Ambulance/Hearse myself, so I applaud your effort! I've had many conversations with classic cars enthusiasts and yes, the '59 Meteor Miller is all but impossible to find, especially with the Afterlife movie hype. Still, I look forward to my project (and it has a spotlight installed!). Hey, we make it work and it brings a lot of happiness to those who see it rolling down the street!
I know some will always nitpick and want screen accuracy perfection, but I’m of the belief that as long as I can look at something (in this case the Ecto-1) and say “hey it’s blah blah blah from blah blah blah, then good enough. Considering yours is homemade I call it awesome!
It’s cool that you went and did this vid to show the inaccuracies and stuff but I think the ppl that pull up just to nit pic that stuff are just jealous that they ain’t got a fly ride like yours lol
I know that everything about that car is bugging you sometimes, but lemme tall you, IT LOOKS FRIKIN AWSOME. My dream has been to make a ghostbusters e to mobile with my dad for a long time. And I think that’s truly special that you were able to build that with your dad at the age of 16. Best luck to you, and keep on making some awesome memories.
Considering you built this car when you were a kid, you did a great job. Better than anything I built when I was14! Looking forward to seeing videos of your other Ecto build.
I think you did a great job, and I gotta point out, you did this on your own, with your own money, unlike the movie which had multi millionaire producers, and Hollywood studios, backing the build of the original Ecto-1, so you have nothing to apologize for, Period.. Great job !! Peace
I think the car looks fantastic! you used what you could get to make it look like Ecto-1 and did a great job. Now that you have the 1960 M&M Ambulance you have a second chance to make it even closer to the original.
If it makes you happy, great! There are a TON of people who would love your replica. Be proud man, you said it makes SO many people happy when they see it. That's what it's all about.
You've got an ecto 1! That's more than a lot of the so called experts have. It made me smile and I bet it's made thousands of other people do the same. The rivet counters can stick there options where the sun don't shine
An inaccurate Ecto is better than No Ecto at all~ because regardless of how accurate you get it~ It will never be one of the 2 (now 3 with afterlife) Cars from the films~
Don’t listen to trolls! Your Ecto is fine! You made it your own! People are just jealous that you have an Ecto and they don’t. I wish I had one even close to what you have it would be nice!
I was looking at a 64 miller meteor Cadillac when I was in high school. It had a rusted out floor and fenders, and the fins were just about rusted through. I’m glad I have the 74 Oldsmobile ambulance I have now, but some part of me wishes I bought that 64 caddy. It would’ve made a fine ectomobile. Good luck with yours 🤘🏼
As long as it stops people randomly, wanting to take pictures with it and making random people smile then you did good , honestly, it's neat to see different renditions of individuals Ecto1's 🤘🤘🤘🙂🙂🙂🤘🤘🤘 I love when people think outside of the box and make their own Ecto1 or Ecto vehicle of some kind in one way or another even if it isn't screen accurate etc etc can turn any vehicle into a Ghostbusters vehicle of some kind 🙂🙂 hope you're not beating yourself up too much over this. You did good the work shows , dont lose sleep over it , make it how you want to make it 🙂 and put your own spin to it , individuality is just as awesome as a screen accurate movie Prop, but it is wicked cool when a movie inspired Prop has the artist's/prop maker's individual signature personality into it too 🙂🙂🙂
love the video. it's hard to get screen-accurate stuff to make homemade props, in general, and when other fans buy them all up. we all have to deal with what we can get our hands-on, and most of the time most people won't know the difference.
I think you did an amazing job with what you had to work with. All the stuff you had to substitute was necessary because it is so hard to find it now let alone in 2003. Nice job
Bro as someone who's a fan your car is still gorgeous, idk how inaccurate yours is, it's a wonderful car, and if your minis happy then even more awesome and amazing
I love the car brother!! Ya it’s not the most accurate. And normally I love to see hearses look stock like they did from factory. But I really like yours!! You guys did an amazing job I bet it puts smiles on so many faces when you drive it around!!
Cut yourself a ton of slack man. It is simply awesome just as it is. Way better than all the naysayers would actually have done if they attempted. Keep it running and drive it with pride. That is a lot of work and creativity. I'm jealous!
Haters gonna hate. This car looks lovely. We are fans we have our own vision. Man to me you did an incredible. It makes the Real Ghostbusters car come to life. So you did awesome who cares. They didn’t put the effort in to it like you guys did. A fan boy like me would love to drive this thing.
Ur attention to detail is embarrassingly close enough to the actual movie car which I'll take any hat off to u sir!!! , not to mention the individual pro items are insanely expensive, I'm building an ecto3 for GB3 from a 96 caprice wagon and have alottttttt of space fillers with plastic rediculas mock items, it busted me over $20k so I won't dare ask where ur money went here, I just don't care for world fans that don't even come close by having a wagon period or even a white paint job or any kind of roof rack, half assing is one thing but not even trying putting a few bux in it and driving on the street, I'm sry but loyal fans are 100% not mistaken, I won't dress or have interior detail but outter flash, but again u got my respect bro!!!
hey, at least you have a cool one of a kind vehicle that folks will turn their heads and point. In life, not all things can be exactly perfect- I'd be happy just owning a hubcap. This is your Ecto vehicle and you can make it any way you want it.
As a Ghosthead, I say who gives a crap it’s NOT AN ACCURATE ACTUAL ECTO-1 REPLICA...it looks really awesome and close to the movie roof rack equipment... as for the car, not the right year, but it IS A CADILLAC. Even this year model is hard to find... ‘59s are not plentiful and easy at all to obtain... this car is a true fan made car... very awesome. So to you purists who are slamming on this guy and other GB fandom, shut up or put up, correct what you think is a problem and find one ‘59 M&M for that person to purchase so they can MAKE A MOVIE ACCURATE ECTO-1. ‘Nuff said. 👻👍🏼
Without watching it I can tell from the thumbnail that it isn’t a 1959 because of the rear windows and fins. Regardless of what’s “wrong” with it though, this thing looks awesome and I’m sure people love it.
lets break it down is it 100 percent accurate maybe not but the thing about the ecto is its always made to look different from the shape to the all round look we dont always need to make a perfect replica of it as long as your happy with it and we can tell that some if not all effort went into building it
Hi, see it as your "Ecto" and not the Ecto1 from the movie. I transfomed a old german Ford Transit Ambulace into my "Ectovan" work is still in progress but I get many happy faces when I drive around. It is a very cool car you got with your own Story.
People are so annoying and petty. The people making all of the noise, I'd like to see how their cars are coming. Anyway, good job, and don't be roused by the thankless peasants.
Yeah. If you're going to try the same, use this Tamiya paint. Dust it on about five times in warm weather. www.amazon.com/Tamiya-Polycarbonate-PS-38-Translucent-Spray/dp/B0000WRZYC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1R5MKFBRE8ISX&keywords=tamiya+translucent+paint&qid=1642374173&sprefix=tamiya+tran%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-2
Hey it looks better than one my buddy built about that same time frame... Of course his was a demo derby car, LOL made out of a Ford LTD wagon if I remember right, with big red plywood fins attached and a yellow strobe on the roof and a hand-painted very well done Ghostbusters no ghost on the side of the doors... Wish I had pictures of it from back then actually came out better than we were hoping for a demo derby car... He entered it in the best of show competition before the demo derby... I don't think it won, but it should have!
I think there’s 2 arguments going on here. One is about making a precise replica of a movie vehicle, and the other is making an Ectomobile. And if it’s ‘an’ ectomobile there’s no need for it to be a perfect clone of the movie car. If this were a real working vehicle for transporting supernatural eliminators around the make and model wouldn’t matter as long as they all fit inside with all their equipment! Presumably when Ray was sourcing parts for the first Ecto he just used whatever was around. If another city had set up a GB franchise I doubt they’d be looking to replicate the original car exactly, they’d have used whatever they could find and maybe even improve on the original! (The Ecto 1A shows what 5 years of improvements did, for better or worse 🙂)
Even if it doesn’t look accurate it be hard to get one that looks perfect like you said there’s not many of these cars in existence anymore but it’s a nice looking car
I started to build my own first I dont recall seeing any rules in regards to having to be movie accurate... especially since I hear lots of people refer to 1970s Cadillac Ambulances as the Ghostbusters car... mines no where even close to any of those I got a 98 Chevrolet Tracker and it's what I want to build off... if people don't like tough crap maybe they can buy me the right vehicle then or keep their opinions to themselves
I love this video! Change the WRONG on your thumbnail to I KNOW! 😎 I had a 1973 Ford LTD that I painted up like the Bluesmobile since I couldn't find a cheap Monaco. For the majority people liked it but on occasion people ripped on it good. I had a 90s era pushbar, it's a bigger car in general, I had a CD player, dual Cherry Bombs, it was tough but definitely not accurate. I got comfortable defending myself though, it was after all MY CAR
Some people. I didn't mean for that last comment to sound snarky -- I just meant that no one at Universal cared, and that everyone still went nuts and wanted pictures. I remember my dad chasing it around in like '92 trying to get a picture of it. I've got one somewhere of it turning a corner.
I only nitpick when people say they have an exact replica when its not. I love when people make their own versions like this. Looks amazing

Honestly even with the inaccuracies its still a wonderful and beautiful car. Its a unique ecto for a unique ghostbuster.

I agree, this is a very true statement.
Yeah, Chicago Ghostbusters uses some modern black SUV. Still makes everyone smile when they pull up.
Different branches have different vehicles that’s how I look at it .
You are crazy
Hey, look the good side. You have an Ecto-1 with al the system, even the front lights. This is better than others
Dude, your video the other day was gold! Stay with the genuine nature!
Awesome video and congratulations on an awesome replica. Much like a cosplay Proton Pack have fun with it, make it unique, that's the fun part!!!
This guys love for Ghostbusters being re-ingnited by the new film is one of the best things
Honestly for a bunch of kids just making this car for their own movie it looks pretty badass. No complaints here, my 8 year old boy loves anything Ghostbusters including your ECTO 1. Thanks for that.

Anal retentives who nitpick suck.
My ecto 1 is SO ACCURATE IT DOESNT EVEN EXIST!!!
I’m happy with mine with all its imperfections, your car is fantastic looking and I’m sure it brings a lot of joy to people who see it. Good work man!
First thing wrong:EVERYTHING!
Hey man don't beat ur self up, it's a great looking ecto 1 we all wish we had one just like yours to admire every day, don't let jealousy stop u from enjoying and showing off ur ecto

So What , you have an awesome Ecto
It's brilliant!! who actually cares if its not exactly the same as the original film, it looks great and I'm sure brings joy to anyone who encounters it!
I just want to see you cruising around town putting smiles on peoples faces.
the car is amazing.
You're wrong sir, your Ecto 1 is FREAKING AMAZING in all respects!!! I'm willing to bet people love that car and it brings everyone a smile...the ones that don't and nitpick just forget about them
doesn't matter if it's inaccurate
still looks beautiful
From u.k.
Don’t be so tough on yourself!
You seem like a grounded down to earth bloke

Bloody difficult to replicate stuff, tools, tricks

I’m 66 now loved watching the movie with my
two lads when they were young.
I will send them this clip, I love anything about

Everything wrong with this ECTO-1..
But do the haters even have one? I think it’s as perfect as any I’ve seen. Amazing job!
I would LOVE to have a car like this.
It looks great. I hate when people are obsessed with screen accuracy. It doesn't matter. What matters are the memories with you built with your dad.
hey, at least you have a cool one of a kind vehicle that folks will turn their heads and point.
You still got a dream car bro
Love the car Clint. Wish I had one even if it isn't screen accurate 😁
lets break it down is it 100 percent accurate maybe not but the thing about the ecto is its always made to look different from the shape to the all round look we dont always need to make a perfect replica of it as long as your happy with it and we can tell that some if not all effort went into building it
Hi, see it as your "Ecto" and not the Ecto1 from the movie. I transfomed a old german Ford Transit Ambulace into my "Ectovan" work is still in progress but I get many happy faces when I drive around.
It is a very cool car you got with your own Story.
If you love it, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s perfect.
Your car is epic! Well done for doing it! don't listen to the haters :)
Welp…. I don’t have an Ecto at all, so I will just keep looking at yours longingly…
People are so annoying and petty. The people making all of the noise, I'd like to see how their cars are coming. Anyway, good job, and don't be roused by the thankless peasants.
Most people are cool. It's not worth responding to the negative comments. Positivity!
did you use translucent paint to paint the blue lens?
Yeah. If you're going to try the same, use this Tamiya paint. Dust it on about five times in warm weather. www.amazon.com/Tamiya-Polycarbonate-PS-38-Translucent-Spray/dp/B0000WRZYC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1R5MKFBRE8ISX&keywords=tamiya+translucent+paint&qid=1642374173&sprefix=tamiya+tran%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-2
@@unfinishedstudios thanks i actually was only ble to get the testor paint....they seell it in hobby lobby
I think it is fantastic
just saw afterlife. your gonna love it. the last act broke me.
I love it the way it is. Who cares if it’s not spot on.
I saw your car at spirit Halloween in Middletown PA my dad has a picture of me with the car
Right on.
I actually love it, definitely something I would drive to and from school 😂
I love this video! Change the WRONG on your thumbnail to I KNOW! 😎 I had a 1973 Ford LTD that I painted up like the Bluesmobile since I couldn't find a cheap Monaco. For the majority people liked it but on occasion people ripped on it good. I had a 90s era pushbar, it's a bigger car in general, I had a CD player, dual Cherry Bombs, it was tough but definitely not accurate. I got comfortable defending myself though, it was after all MY CAR
The one they had at Universal was a Chrysler. No one cares.
People definitely care
Some people. I didn't mean for that last comment to sound snarky -- I just meant that no one at Universal cared, and that everyone still went nuts and wanted pictures. I remember my dad chasing it around in like '92 trying to get a picture of it. I've got one somewhere of it turning a corner.
I think it looks great bro!!
