Thanks for a great video. These snap pliers are ok. I don't mind the extra work. I needed your video to help me assemble them correctly. You're the best.

I think the snap pliers are great, I use them about 5 times a year, much better to have cheap ones..... Thanks for subscribing!

Eye protection is absolutely essential using this tool. That circlip can flick off like a bullet.

I wear glasses and I always buy safety glasses, much easier than remembering to put on safety glasses, if you don't wear glasses, putting on safety glasses before using any tool should be come standard - thanks for subscribing!

Put the pin in after you put it together, and then it is easy. If you put the locking part on the top, there is less chance of it being hit by whatever you are working on and springing open.
The one side is made where they pliers start in a closed position to open whatever you are working on (the two pins at the top of the handles and the two holes at the top of the attachment). On the other side, they start in an open position, so you can squeeze close whatever you are working on (the pins on the bottom of the handle and the holes on the bottom of the attachment).

I've got these same snap ring pliers. They're functional, barely. They did what I needed, but not a very well made tool overall in this man's opinion.

they are 'fidly' which means you have to extra work to get them put together so they work well, but once you figure out the right assembly process, they work ok, I have another set from harbor freight that have same options, but a separate handle for each tool, and they work a lot better, the extra assembly time is a pain, but they do work - thanks for subscribing!

i got a set of these a few years ago. lost the spring and pin first time i used them. I've been using an inch long 8-32 button head screw with a nut. Just twist it in finger tight and they work just fine.

Simple tutorial but really much needed since there’s not any booklet or anything to tell you how to put it other 😂

it took me a few minutes to work out the process for assembly, but these are good for light use, I don't use them much, so the right price for a seldom used tool that works, a good set of these cost 10x as much, and are required for heavy usage, I like these - thanks for subscribing!

I got these a while back to have on hand. Went to use them and the pins were too fat for my ring. Also the spring went flying as soon as I took them out the package. Just stumbled upon a random spring and figured it must go to the pliers. Came here to confirm 😆

Good review, I saw those last week while in HF. Agree, a small bolt with a wingnut might be an idea. $5 is worth putting up with a little cheesiness for a little used tool.

like many people out there, i might use snap ring pliers once a year if that, think I will get a pair and put up with the way they are put together, looks like they will do the job

Exactly like the Vice Grip version. Probably not as tough but who knows.

I'm glad I found your video. Fortunately these didn't cost very much. There were no instructions how to assemble it and after watching your instructions it's a pretty sorry way to hold this tool together. Since I don't use a snap ring plier very much maybe this cheap set will work. Thanks!

Have you tried putting the spring in the other side Large side of spring against the tool and small side facing the lock side?

I tried that and it caused the tool to not work as well and make is inconsistent and unstable - thanks for subscribing!

I'm pretty late to this video but the extra straight has thinner pins for those smaller snap rings
