@@marcnobel3938 For a track hoon and some undiluted fun the D8 is amazing so I have to side with you.... however, the Spyker looks mega in casino square
This was so much fun for me to share the car with Sam and his audience. I was fortunate to be able to sell these cars and go to Spyker training when they were new and available here in the USA. I really love to see the public reaction when they see a Spyker for the first time as they are truly something very special to behold in person. I am even more lucky now to be able to care for one of these cars as it is in a collection that I get to manage! "Nulla tenaci invia est via" (For the tenacious, no road is impassible). -Shannon Low
I went to the European Gran Prix back in 2006 and seen the Spyker Race drivers drive two of these around the circuit in the iconic Orange Spyker Livery and just fell in love with them, they are beautiful cars, definitely up there with my favourites, I only wish their financial situation would get sorted, the one car i always wanted to see produced was the D10 Peking to Paris SUV. It would be amazing to see what they could produce now.
I first saw this car on Top Gear. This is my dream car. The look is fabulous. Its so stylish without being over the top. Its so much better looking than a modern Ferrari or Lambo. I love that its a manual trans. Thank you.
WOW! I was never sure about the Spyker, now its at the top of my wish list. Enough power but not too much and from the drivers seat the view is that of a Riva power boat. Absolutely love it.
I'm Dutch myself and this is the first time I really took a good look at this car. Victor Muller did something right for sure... with age it becomes more and more of a beauty. 420 horsepower is plenty to have fun! Awesome video and opportunity, Sam!
You can be, I m not dutch, but the Spyker remains one if the truly beautiful cars of the last years. Truly because all the components are pieces of beauty. That is way more rare than supercars stuff. Very few cars are like that.
Boat????? It's an aircraft propeller as someone whose name I can't spell says too, since, like BMW and SAAB, Spyker was an aircraft producer. HOnestly, doesn't take much research to know that.
I remember seeing this spec at LA Auto Show in 2006. Some stunning cars that year including the Veyron. But that gear lever was just on another level. So cool.
We have one of the very few Spyker C8 Spyders made for Canada in our showroom at the moment so it's very cool to see another one of these beautiful works of art!
I still don't think there are many cars, even this many years later, that would trump a Spyker for curbside presence. It's that whole sophisticated-but-bonkers ethos and all of the attention to detail in the design. I've seen a couple in person and I can almost guarantee I was late to wherever I was going for the sake of staring at the tail pipes or polished ducting, or the rear view mirror, or the switchgear etc. ad astra.
Good work Sam. I think it's the perfect car for a husband & wife who don't necessarily care about downforce or carbon this & that but still want something a little more unique & more driving involvement than say a Continental or Wraith.
The steering wheel reminds you of the Caterham because it's a Lotus wheel. Too bad this one doesn't have the amazing propellor steering wheel like mine!
Mate, you continue to produce solid content that is surpassing a lot of the other youtuber's. Keep doing what your doing. If you ever make it out to Chicago, let me know. We can meet up for lunch and terrorize the city in my Sharkwerks GT3.
Fabulous! to me one of the most gorgeous car of the last 20 years, with real beauty in its components, like a Huayra, like a Chiron. So glad you made a review of this wonder. If ever you have the chance, please review a Venturi, a Wiessman ( mf5) or a Morgan Aeromax, my dream cars (more than superhyperwhatever...cars)
When you get to Vancouver, you absolutely have to drive the sea to sky highway from Vancouver to Whistler. One of the most AMAZING roads that I have ever driven.
Refreshing change to the 'usual' stuff, decent drivetrain by the sounds of it and all the power that you'd need in the real world. Interior quality looks great too, not keen on the exterior styling however.
I'll never forget seeing one of these pulling up at the red light and looked at it in aw bc I never thought I'd see one driving down the road by the way this was 2006 in Sarasota Florida
Cool forgotten manufacturer. They had a reasonably successful race team as well. I got to tour their factory about a decade ago. it was an industrial area just outside Zeevolde.
This is one of the coolest cars ever made. It is basically a cheaper Pagani. The quality, detail, and uniqueness is unmatched. The rarity is also really high. I think these cars will become very valuable in the future when people finally realize what they were all about
The reason is the fact that an airbag is mandatory in the US. The original steering wheel is one of the most beautiful steering wheels I’ve ever seen, but didn’t have an airbag.
Thanks for the love Sam!!! As a Dutchman I've always been proud of the Spyker... now all you have to try is a Donkervoort 🤘😎 🇳🇱
Donkervoort is wayyyyy above of Spiker in my opinion. They make incredible cars.

This over any Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche... bespoke, special, awesome
Too bad this one doesn't have the "boat" steering wheel
We are working on acquiring one!
is it even allowed in the us?
It`s a propeller b`cause Spyker is a tribute to an old plane cabin...
it should have a boat throttle as well, and the brakepedal in the passenger footwell for good measure... 🤪

Hands down one of the coolest, timeless interiors. Almost classy steampunk.

As a Dutchman i greatly appreciate you filming a Spyker !
I love the brand.
Love the cars, the brand, but everything else about the brand is awful. Bankruptcy, bad management, stupid mistakes and impossible promises.

As a Dutchman, I approve of this video in any way or form!
Love this car. I really hope Spyker can get it together and build their new Spyker C8 Preliator (which looks amazing!) with a Koenigsegg V8 and 600HP
Asia Grill that deal with Koenigsegg is dead. And Preliator was already introduced in 2016-17. Spyker is zo to speak dead and buried.
That's a stunning car, with an equally stunning noise!
As a Dutchie I can only love this thing so much! Glad you enjoyed it Sam! Sadly the brand went bankrupt trying to buy Saab etc..

One of my all time favourite cars!! That exhaust rumble and the interior 😍
Mooi wagentje :-D it is a beauty to look at! glad it drives good too.

You should see the steeringwheel on a european car. The most beautiful wheel on a car ever.
Working on getting one!
Every spider owner will try to replace that steering wheel with the propellor blade steering wheel but apparently it takes years to find one.
You have the best POV angle on YT!!!
That car is such a beautiful vehicle. I can see why you dropped everything to take the opportunity to drive it.
And we’re down the street from driver’s club, so it wasn’t too far to trek

pardon my ignorance sam, but what is that song at the beginning and end of your video?
Steering wheel doesn't seem right, Spyker had the 4 spoke propeller design, that match the interior far better...
Why is that?
Christian Lindner The American versions used a Lotus steering wheel, later on all Spykers switched to a Lamborghini steering wheel
The reason is the fact that an airbag is mandatory in the US. The original steering wheel is one of the most beautiful steering wheels I’ve ever seen, but didn’t have an airbag.

Of course it's different and you like it! :D
Compare it to a 2006 Pagani or K'egg and there's no question - the Spyker C8 was at (or I'd argue above) that level in terms of the overall package.
Gosh the interior of the C8 is really similar to that of a Pagani
