When negotiations were ongoing I was an intern for a motoring magazine. A colleague of me worked for Spyker F1 before as their media manager, so he knew Victor Muller. As he tried to get the scoop Victor didn't pick up the phone. So the next morning I am in the office first and the phone rings. I was shocked to get Victor Muller on the line, calling back. I apologized my colleague wasn't there, can I take a message. No I will wait until he walks in. Okay sure. Shall i have him call you? No need, I will hold the line. We had a good 30-40 min call and once he found out I was the intern he took the time to answer all my curious questions. We ofcourse had much more detail in our magazine then the rest AND he made a lasting impression on the intern :) I followed some of his advice and now am a drive testing engineer for multiple brands.
Groetjes uit Nederland! Yes, Spyker is an awesome company that made awesome cars. I do hope they can somehow continue to build cars in the near future.
Such wonderful looking cars! The Dutch..they have a way of..not being cookie cutter types. If they do something, it's with style, originality and quality. They're top notch farmers..so much so that the global elites are trying to stifle their productivity on that, in favor of the green (read: Greed) movement that is short circuiting everything. So, "Go, Spyker!" We wish you a speedy recovery!
Lithuanian Bank Snoras founders always believed in Spyker, have been main sponsors in many races. Even had almost 30% sharehold, but 2008 crisess done it's job just like you said..
Not exactly. Saab as a car company no longer exists, but Saab still makes planes. NEVS uses the last generation of 9-3 as a platform and they use some of Saabs old facilities, but they can't use the Saab name or any logo's. NEVS was a joint venture between the Swedish government and Chinese car maker Geely(I think), Saab had no involvement. Recently the Chinese company sold a majority stake in NEVS back to the Swedish shareholders.
I'm just not a fan electric vehicles I understand how fast they can be and all that stuff but I just don't think the technology is all the way there yet there's too many variables to go wrong with those cars if anything goes wrong with the battery pack you're done I'm 36 and I don't think I will ever own an electric vehicle my sister had a Tesla model 3 I drove it it was cool but honestly kind of boring even with ludicrous mode on
I'd always really had a soft spot for Spyker I thought they were a beautiful car and just always had such a unique look and feel to everything they did. Nothing about the car felt like it was something that was made out of another car it was a car that made everything feel like it was the maid for that car whether it was or was it did a very good job of using everything that it was given and making a beautiful and fast automobile
Sounds like a company using other companies money hitting bankruptcy multiple times while obviously not using their own money and capitalizing on it. Good ol corporate bs
Even though they are out of business my odds of owning one are about the same they were. Cool cars though. I like the b6. Not as souped up as the others but an awesome design.
These exotic companies should plan and build a lower cost car to sell along side their higher cost machines. A lower cost sports car, stripped down and basic for purists who cannot afford the high dollar machines would help float them through the tougher times... Don't know why they don't try it.
Development for any car no matter how cheap still costs millions upon millions. It’s something that they could have eventually done after turning over enough of their core product but that never happened. I don’t think they sold many cars.
Spyker was a car like it had a baby with a Aston Martin and a On steroids Ferrari. Just one of a kind and i wish they come back and dont invest in racing but into their own company
When Spyker bought the corpse of Saab the owner of my local Saab dealership went out and bought a Spyker C8. It was a work of art.

Vandat ek die voertuig op top gear gesien het n paar jaar terug het dit my gunsteling voertuig geword. Groete van Suid Afrika
I only knew about Spyker on Gran Turismo 4. It's such a weird looking car, but totally different from the rest. I do hope Spyker can make a comeback.

I never knew your automotive background was Spiker deep. I'm going to have to reach out to you.
Thank you for the story. I like Spyker too. I remember, that you order your car and see on video the progress of the build
Thanks for the info Craig 👍🏼 Always admired the designs Spyker came up with and looking forward to see what their future holds ☺️👍🏼
Ive seen one back in 2008 on the freeway with friends plus test drive unlimited had them on there

Idiots buying 10-25k Rolex watch’s while my 100 dollar skeleton relic tells time just as well looks awesome and never needs a battery 😂
Yeah! 😂
I mean nowadays we just have to take our phone out and you instantly get the time!
I never will have enough money to find those interior colors attractive.

The reuturn of Spyker will have us see another global crisis. Probably WW3😅.
Spyker wil rise again someday.
With better management.
Buying an F1 team and SAAB… 🫣
Talking about money pits.
