  • Today on Guardian Approved, Uriah presents our Level Bolt Lock review. Level is a company designing a very interesting product; a device that allows nearly any deadbolt on the market to become 'smart' or electronic.
Level has designed their bolt lock in a way that all electronic components are part of the latch, allowing most mechanical deadbolts (including double cylinder deadbolts) to function as smart lock electronic deadbolts.
Is this grade 1 Level Bolt lock Guardian Approved? Find out in our review by watching this video!

I think most people are worried about is how easy is it for people to be able to access your house i believe we are just touching the surface of smart locks

Thanks so much for this! I’ve had this lock for a few months now - nervous to install because I’m not good with tech stuff. You made it easy and I got it done! Thanks!

Thanks for doing this! I was gonna buy one for myself to try out and if I liked it I’d try to stock them. I like that you don’t have to carry them in different finishes because it’s concealed. Reached out to Level to find out about wholesale pricing or a supplier for locksmiths and haven’t heard back from them. Later!

Is this a secure lock? The battery in the cylinder is a bit concerning.

    • @GuardianApproved
      @GuardianApproved  2 роки тому +1

Yes it is and the battery in the bolt can’t be accessed unless you have a key to open the door.

Can you schedule it to unlock every day at 9am and to automatically lock at 8pm?

Pity it's not WIFI which means you can't see the status (open/close) of the lock wherever you may be outside of your home.
Unless it's able to mesh with Ring and then it's able to do it? If you were to cover this it would definitely be good to know as it's added functionality and I don't think any other videos on this product cover this feature.
    Thanks for the vid!

anyone has tried kicking a door open with this lock? just seems like a hollow bolt wouldn't really hold up...

I'm curious as well. The hollow bolt is at least steel though.

You might want the check what the @LockPickingLawyer said in video 1480 about this lock. I hope he does a follow-up on it.

I don't believe the lockpicking guy tested this version. With this version, you are using your existing lock and key

With the Level Lock, how do you factory reset the device?
Just thinking in the event that you move, but choose to leave the lock behind for some reason.
I saw on Level's website they have a keypad available that will integrate with all the lock levels apparently, but it is a separate purchase.

Take off the inside thumb turn and there is a tiny hole get a paperclip straighten it out and poke it in the hole. It will factory reset.
