holy crap, as a beginner this is the single best 2 minutes of knowledge I have had in golfing, I can suddenly hit the ball straight and much more consistently.
Thanks for the advice. I've found that if I'm stand too far away and my take away is pushes the club further out my shoulder doesn't clear under my chin. I've been able to use the take away as a gauge but this will help dial in the ball distance. Again, Thanks!
I just discovered this rule myself (brushing the pants with the legs straight), after three years of practice. This seems to be very effective, especially for tall golfers. It allows being at the same distance from the ball at address and impact. Therefore, your head doesn't do down from address to impact. The result is that your radius is more consistent and your shots are longer.
A lot of the comments are in their own way correct too. The main thing here is find a way you can get the right ball position every time - arms hanging down. eye/thumb/toes alignment, arms/chest connection - are all part of that. I found matching myself up with the posture of a pro player's photo with the help of masking tape on a wardrobe mirror helped the most to get the correct feel, alignments, and check points in my posture and ball position. For me my right thumb needs to look like it's 1" inside my toe line. For you and your body type this will be different.
cheers. i always wonder am i too close? am i too far? and recently ive been pulling alot of my shots to the left, even when i purposly try to push it out right. i think im just standing too far away. thanks man!
2 very important and great tips in just 2 minutes. Appreciated.

Great explanation. He's exactly right about the swing faults when standing too far away.
Great tip! Making this adjustment has really helped my ball striking. I had been reaching all along and cutting across the ball. Thanks.
I think this is one of videos that really made it click for me. Just going around to the ones that really helped my game and giving thanks.
First video to explain it well enough to understand
1:10 , that is fkn golden, just felt , imaged, and grooved ...'azz beyond heels' ... felt it flatten my swing and well been nailing it so far.
Great tips, thanks. I'm new to golf and I'm just piecing all this advice together. I think this clip will really help though.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for the virdeo. How would you
Incorporate 3w and driver into this method?
I tried this and can't believe the difference to the shot quality and balanced finish position
I noticed you said that this applies to the irons. What about the driver ?
wouldn't this eliminate the need for fitted clubs? I'm not pro or starting a debate, just curious and posting a comment.
What is the proper distance for the driver?
wouldn't this only be true if the clubs are professionally adjusted to you?
yea, and you pull the ball when you're standing too close!
Particulally, this is the most important part of golf that we just skip mostly.
This doesn't work, if your clubs are not custom fit and are way too upright etc..
F_ck I've being doing all wrong.
