    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
    Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
    I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
    On UA-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
    Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
    I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

    So important to stress. Thanks Danny for covering something that seems simple but is the foundation of a good swing.

    Another BRILLIANT Gem, Thanks Danny. Firstly, managed to vastly improve my driving by adopting your 'walking' technique video. Then I soon developed 'falling off the ball' when hitting my driver and couldn't figure out what was wrong. It tuns out that, while I adopted the 'walking' technique described in your video, I was standing too close to the ball at drives, consequently, I ended up with 'chicken wing' fever!!! This video has resolved the issue ... so many thanks again for providing us with expert advice ... greatly appreciated!

    Thanks Danny, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months now and implementing all of them and seeing great improvements. I’m 65 and played for years never struck the ball well and never ever got close to hitting 100 for 18. I can now see hitting that goal and even better in a very short time because of your lessons. Awesome, thanks

    This is a basic and yet, so very crucial part of golf swing which Danny presents in such great, friendly way, not to mention, super constructive! I've been watching his golf instructions for quite a while now and my game seems to be improving immensely! Many thanks Danny... and if you ever are visiting Phoenix / Scottsdale, Arizona area, (load of great GC's) let me know. You could even stay at my house for a lessen or two... :-)

    Brilliant advice Danny, thank you. I have a brief mantra I repeat in my head before each shot now thanks to your videos - "GPS". Check Grip, check grip Pressure, and check Set up. Working much better in achieving a more consistent strike rate. I hope to be down to 18 handicap soon with your help 👍

    I'm an average golfer, play about once a week... I average in the low 90's, high 80's if it's a good day. I watched this video 3 times in a row, really took the lesson to heart, because my swing felt it was lacking POWER. The first time I played after watching I scored an 85, the second time I played I scored an 81. I don't believe there is one magic thing that makes you good at golf, but this basic lesson on position and (more importantly) balance in your swing is very effective! I think Danny is on to something here, and it definitely is working for me!

    Hi Danny! I have been playing golf for 10 mos. and was finding it problematic to get the right distance from the ball for my mid irons and hybrids. I thought it could have been due to my clubs not being long enough (I am a 6'4" woman hitting men's clubs, senior shafts.) But I watched this last night and practiced my stance in the mirror. Today I went out on the course and hit all my hybrids and mid-irons solidly (I hit my 6 iron twice on different holes from about 155 yds from the light rough over trees onto the green!) This is exactly what I needed and I had my best round score of 90 today! Combined with the chipping/pitching videos from you I have taken over 10 shots off my average score in the last month. Thank you!

    I’ve been playing bad golf infrequently for over 30 years. Now with the opportunity to play 2-3 times weekly I am looking to seriously learn how to play. This video, above all instruction I’ve received thus far has made more difference in my game. Without knowing how to properly address the ball I was barely making contact. Following this video I’ve been hitting the ‘sweet spot’ on my clubs A LOT more! While my accuracy is still quite lousy it is so much more fun to properly hit the ball rather than what I was doing before! Thanks Danny!

    Great video. I've gotten coached many times and have seen hundreds of these videos but I still had problems hitting the ball solidly and on-line. After watching, I went out to the range and hit almost every ball perfectly. Even the mis-hits were better than before. I must have been doing the thing you showed where I adjust my club position after address. Thanks!

    I realize this video is 3 years old, but I just did a simulation and found that my normal setup is almost a club length off from where I should be. I setup to the ball as I normally would, marked my foot location, then I did the steps you showed above. The amount of correction I would need to make is the obvious cause of my inside out shots where my mind knows where the club head "should be". Mid blown and thanks again!!!

    back to fundamentals always help ty Danny ..... I'm very new to your site but loving it ... esp the Pete Cowen butterfly grio and set up in the bunkers .. the way you showed the set up with the camera looking down has changed my bunker play completely I now aim for the bunker on a really hard approach instead of aiming.ing away , because it's easier to get on the green with the next shot then chipping from 15 yards .. ty so much ....

    I really like all of your videos. After watching and working on those from many other instructors I believe yours have helped the most. I'll be 85 in January but have not given up hope of recovering some lost distance. And believe me when I say I have worked at them all, Moe Norman, set up for impact, etc.etc. and nothing helped this old body like your recent video on the drill to correct the chicken wing. Thanks again.

    The piece about keeping the biceps close to the body coupled with another video that you say to have the club face the same angle as the spine when parallel to the ground helped me make better contact with a stable and powerful swing than ever before! So excited about what this did for me! You are the man, Danny!

    great video's Danny, my wife just viewed this, it's something she needs to work on, she's hitting the ball very well but has a very extended arm and stands far to far from the ball ... the video simply highlights what I've been trying to explain and now she's going to give it a try ... superb, she'll be all the better a golfer for it.... Cheers !

    I agree the set up is the primary foundation of the golf swing.....everyone should be able to do it...from there your swing take care of itself. You can not think you way from one swing position to another as the swing takes less than 2 seconds...the downswing part .25 second. Appreciate your sound advice. One key item personally to my set up, I concentrate on having my ears level to the ground, therefore, your eyes. Thx. Tom

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  5 років тому

      Jim Fairweather the tie of the club should sit slightly off the ground but to use this as a reference your clubs must have been custom fitted by a PGA pro in the first instance.
      Hope this makes sense

    Great video. Where should the left elbow be pointed? Hogan said both elbows should be close together, but should the left elbow be pointed down or at the target?

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  5 років тому

      Leif Andresen both elbows are angled slightly downwards so they can easily rotate

    Danny, which one of your swing videos would you recommend to ensure that after I get comfortable with this stance, I will make the correct swing. Early on, this stance does seem more compact and restrictive for me. Still not making good ball contact (fat shots, behind ball, big divots, etc.). But once in awhile it all clicks, and it all then makes sense. Got the stance, need the swing! Thanks.

    Bad habits become very comfortable even with poor ball striking and bad shots. In my efforts to improve my swing/game I noticed I was standing to close to the ball, I caught myself raising up (coming up on my toes) so that I could clear the left side. I moved away from the ball about 2" and stopped topping and hitting it fat. As you said many times, the body is smart and will compensate to accommodate. The frustrating and hard part to understand was that I could pull off a decent shot about 50% of the time but couldn't figure out why I wasn't consistent. It was all due to my timing, some days I had it some days I didn't. So far with this small adjustment I am more consistent with my irons. Even my bad shots aren't terrible and I can live with that... Thanks for the lesson Danny!...
