Bro, tool bro plss
I'm sure you'll be flooded with suggestions for it, so forgive me if it's already on your radar, but Denzel Curry did a cover of this one that you should check out too.
Bro do some Audioslave. They are Rage with Chris Cornell. PLEASE PLEASE do them
Can you check this out ua-cam.com/video/X3NM5XKF4dc/v-deo.html
You should educate yourself on Rage they have been speaking out against injustice since the 90s
I didn't realize how much I would enjoy seeing someone hear rage against the machine for the first time
Actually this is his second time
It's kind of become my favorite thing at the moment.
@@shihsntz5301 seriously! My new hobby!
I hope one day i can show someone rage for the first time. Ill probably win the lottery first, hope not though.😛
It's like the ultimate high that us Rage veterans can only dream of. Observing it in others is the next best thing.
Best RATM quote I heard; 'The thing about RATM are their lyrics are always relevant. The SAD thing about RATM is that their lyrics are always relevant.'
True that
Regretfully the same could be said for Dead Kennedy's (Punk legends).
They don’t gotta burn the books , they just remove them
Heavy verse
the sad thing is they are just some hypocritical commies
@@yungzookaveli9503 Everyone's a commie to dumbfuck rightoids
For anyone who doesn’t know “bulls on parade” is an old school slang term that was used for when police would show up in riot gear, or just taking any form of action nearby
thanks
Yeup! And sucks that people forget these things b.c of how militarized police has become in America specifically could get interesting soon(tm)
@@TsMHicks Biden is president now so they don't need to slander the police anymore.
@@quintfl How does Biden being president change anything lol
@@quintfl biden is a fucking joke of a president lol
He’s not just rapping. He’s dropping some of the most fire bars ever conceived.
It’s crazy how some people just started getting mad that Rage was against the police.
@@bduds14 against the machine. and the sheep that just follow orders. not police in general. rage was great rage music, a lot of sentiment that was legitimate. but also dumb as fk commies. it's ok though sometimes people need a different perspective to light a fire under their ass. the best message they ironically had was, freedom. say that today you are called a nazi. total clown world.
Amen
Shoutout to the people who have been spamming rage for months lol
I spam so much on here about groups that my fingers look like artificial ham ( spam joke) . If I was able to i would join his patron just to send him requests. I have been following RATM since 97.

Zack De La Rocha is one of the best frontmen to ever do it. He brought the best energy and anger to the stage.
He def channeled the anger of his heritage being mixed: Mexican, Irish, Germans, African, Jewish
He was mad x5 and def knew what was up.
@@JR-em3mothe germans are not mad. He used the german to engineer the music well
Love when big hip hop fans discover Rage. That wide eyed moment when they hear the bars and get smashed in the face with that heavy stuff for the first time AND love every second of it... no more enjoyable video's on the tubes
I am a metal head and love them, wish I could go back to listen for the first time again. Their songs still give me chills, can’t imagine what these guys feel when they crank it up and get hit by a wall of greatness for the first time.
Perfect comment!! My thoughts exactly
It’s unfortunate that Rage is as relevant now as they were in the 90’s. But it is fun watching a whole new generation discover them.
Nobody listens and the situation gets worse, it will boil to a head and all the racists who were pining for a race war will get their wish granted
Those who do not learn from History are doomed to repeat it.
Right? Right!
They were doing a comeback but the corona has delayed that plan
Humans don't learn from history. We're doomed to repeat.
2:25 "The energy and passion..."
You mean like... rage?
Ha!
...against "the machine". So fucking relevant today.
2:55
It's just unfair to mention Morello and De la Rocha without crediting the other half of RATM. Timmy C and Brad Wilk were far and away the backbone to the Rage show. Tim's bass lines are almost as recognizable as Tom's revolutionary riffs and solos.
🎯
Agreed
Them bass lines were so smooth in the nastiest way
Bullet in the head will always stand out for me
That bass brings the fucking thunder!
Tim C is a beast of a bassist.
They’re basically a super-group. I don’t believe in fate, but it’s incredible that these four found each other. They’re just fucking phenomenal in their roles, and they all wanted to cover this subject matter. Lightning in a bottle.
It’s physically impossible to listen to this song without saying “wakka wakka wakka”
Yeah, he's rapping. Zack is a highly underrated MC. The second verse from this song is one of the hardest of all time.
Weapons,
not food,
not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal
I walk up to the corner to the rubble that used to be a library
Line up to the mind cemetery now
What we don't know keeps tha contracts alive an movin'
They don't gotta burn the books they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally round the family, pockets full of shells
Facts. There's been a few bands who had spitters up front that did it well. But none ever got anywhere near the level of RATM and very few could touch Zack's ability.
"Underrated"? Come on... Dude is properly rated.
@@genericallyaccepted nah man Zack never made any top mc lists. His flow, material plus range on the yells should make him a top 10 mc of all time the same way Morello is widely regarded as one of the best guitarists in history.
@@ilovemikerogers Amazon is now removing books. Go figure.
Tom Morello (guitar) went to Harvard for political sciences. He knows his shit.
@@user-dl3pe3nr1s tell him boy
@@user-dl3pe3nr1s not everyone is over 30, and even then, not everyone over 30 knows who rage is. there was no need to post that stupid comment

@@irvingdan9222 listen....I didnt mean to offend anyone. Forget the whole "30" thing,.... RATM in my mind is an Iconic band... When I see a post that "dumbs" down their accomplishments, by singling out a member, such as "guitarist" I take offense. What if someone said Ringo Starr was the drummer of the Beatles?
@@user-dl3pe3nr1s you honestly have room temperature IQ. has it not occurred to you that not everyone knows about RATM? you're not special for knowing RATM for years so you shouldn't take offense when someone gives a fact about the band. this video might be someone's introduction to the band. so, with the least amount of respect possible, go fuck yourself.
Here’s what I find really crazy about rage. “Killing in the Name” came out in 1991. Hair bands were still going strong in 1991. These dudes were performing in the same venues as Warrant, Slaughter, Motley Crue, Skid Row, etc. at the same period of time. It boggles the mind.
What i find crazy is that Zack's rap style doesnt sound like that cheesey rap style that was popular in the early 90s. Sounds closer to modern rap
the 90s were amazing
I've listened to RATM for 25 years, but seeing someone discover how awesome they are for the first time, is like being taken back in time and reliving it all over again. Thank you so much for this reaction video. Genuinely made my day!
❤❤
I’ve never seen him giving a “Pass!” to a song before it’s finished lol
I know! I was about to say the same thing!
I noticed that too .
Cintia Silva he rarely does it, it only happens to songs he’s really fkn enjoying/likes haha
That’s Rage Against The Machine for ya man. They’re just that 🔥
Bohemian Rhapsody is the only other time I can remember him doing it
Guerilla Radio by Rage bruh. Know your Enemy dope asf too.
Still remember first time hearing “That riff” know your enemy 🤣what a classic
GR is my fave I think
Tom Morrello is performing this song on a pawn shop guitar that cost $200.00.
I’ve seen them 4 times in 3 states & two countries…this band changed my Life!
Theres something about watching someone watch what you've grown up with and absolutely justify your love for it
Down Rodeo is another great Rage song.
"Rolling down Rodeo with a shotgun, these people ain't seen a brown-skinned man since they grandparents bought one"
Dope song
Deff a fav. I'm hearing the intro already
Classic!!!
That is probably the only misguided theme of most RATM music. They constantly criticized white police for being racist, yet minority police tend to be as likely if not more likely to commit brutality. Police brutality is not a race issue, it's a class issue. The news just reports it as a race issue to be more divisive.
@@CaptanF0rever I totally agree. No left vs. right only up vs. down. Odd though, that you would use the verbatim argument of the oppressor's to defend them, isn't it?
Those REPORTING the news aren't to blame, those who DECIDE what ISN'T news are. You understand?
You need to do RATM - "Sleep Now in the Fire" and "Testify"

It's amazing.
War wound down for a while, but it's about to ramp back up when we get the establishment candidates back, unfortunately.
@@Straitjacket346 the guy your talking about increased the military budget every year he's been in office. I'm not defending the past war hawks but the current ones are no better. What do you think Rage against the Machine would have to say about the current state of America? Exactly what they've always said. "we gotta take the power back"
Only if 60% realized this we could make major moves !
@@ericnortan9012 I think they would say that regardless since their focus is to sell records by saying populist rhetoric and once they've taken the power back? It'll be more of the same.
But anybody who wants to go back to starting more war without provocation can 💋 my rear-end.
It is a genuine pleasure to witness someone discovering Rage Against The Machine for the first time. Some of the best and most important music ever made.
"Is he RAPPING?"
Yes, THIS is rapping, not just what passes for it today.
I think RATM is an underappreciated band in the world of Hip Hop & rap because they had one foot in Hip Hop & one in Rock, they were dismissed by elitists on both sides, but they also broke down barriers between the two fanbases & bought new ears to the genres.
But the mystery is how metal fans would take up hip hop and produce these fusions ever since Run DMC and Aerosmith got together while the hip hop scene just totally blanked it. Dunno, but I get the feeling that if it happened nowadays it would be classed as cultural appropriation and cancelled in an instant.

Hey Tom, do you wanna be a guitarist or a DJ??
Tom: YES. Lemme show u how I scratch on my guitar...
I love when people ask "how's he doing that?"
Accurate
Lmfao
DJing has absolutely nothing to do with what Tom Morello is doing. Do you mean using synthesizers? Because DJing is just song selection.
@@SourMoonBlues Know your music history. Turntablists have been called DJs in hip-hop for decades. Given that Tom was influenced by classic hip-hop, he most certainly is mimicking a "DJ" scratching and using the crossfader. Is that a Disc Jockey in the classic radio sense? No, of course not, and the lead rapper isn't a Master of Ceremonies, either, but that is still called MCing. Hip-hop is all about wordplay, so the use of simile, allegory, and metaphor should not be surprising in the least.
You’d love “Know Your Enemy” by these guys!!
This is the one.
yes you would. Bombtrack also
I swear, watching someone discovering Rage Against the Machine is like watching a baby being born. Discovery, seeing the light for the first time, breathing their first breaths.
The first rage concert i went to..i got tossed around like a ball in a pit...this band has always come loaded against injustice and their music makes you think...and yes he is rapping and they have an electric atmosphere..it's really an awesome experience i for real encourage any and everyone go see a rage show...they're amazing show men
"Sleep Now In The Fire" By Rage Against The Machine Is Another Banger
Yo, next one should DEFINITELY be "Sleep Now In The Fire" by RATM.
Fuck yeah
Shaddoe favorite fuckin song by them.
Or Maggie's farm!
Yeah, that one is fire. "Renegades of Funk" is an epic banger as well.
Ghost of tom joad
This song hits so hard. I'm lucky enough to have been alive when they first arrived on the scene. They are unique and their songs never get old.
It's my new weird secret hobby watching all these youngsters watching the great music that was put out in the early'90's. All that beautiful dirty meaningful music that came from Seattle and all over, in that time frame. But Rage Against the Machine reactions I have to say are some of my favorite. They never fail to give a person a huge dose of instant energy and willpower.... Watching people get their first dose of that electric shock is powerful nostalgic energy. I know there's people who have been listening for even longer than me. I was a late to the grunge scene loser, haha, wouldn't trade it for the Backstreet Boys any day. But it's been over 20 years of RATM for me and those wild men never fail to wake a person up.
Indeed. I’m 65 and feel the same vibe.
Zack is a passionate activist so he is most def. invested in what he's saying. This band is 🔥🔥🔥 and has a lot of great tracks but "Wake Up" (lyric video) has to be next!
Yes wake up with lyrics . Gotta do it next .
Lyrics are a must with RATM. Their live performances are full energy and definitely even more powerful when you got the lyrics.
Also Know Your Enemy with lyrics 🤘
Down Rodeo lyrics is great too!
You should check out "Know Your Enemy" and "Wake Up" as well, Zack has sick flows and spits straight bars
WITH LYRICS!!!!!
Fistful of Steel
Definitely Wake Up.
This is why Tom Morello is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time. The man reinvented the guitar and the sounds it can produce. Really enjoyed seeing a different perspective enjoy the music I grew up with. Rage against the machine was way ahead of their time, their messages are still relevant today.
guy scratches his strings and that makes him a revolutionary genius? pretty low bar in rock music.
@@itoibo4208Counterpoint; then how come we don't hear string scratching more often? Can you name an example anywhere else where that's done half as well as in this song? Sometimes it's not the technique that's revolutionary, but how it's integrated and performed that makes it special.
@@itoibo4208 right? i have never heard anyone mention Morello as a great guitarist. he's unique, I'll give him that, but he's not great. Petrucci, Vai, Lifeson, Blackmore, Page... they and many others are the greatest
@@madeofmandrake1748 I am not saying I do not love it. I do. It is a really good part of the song. I am just wondering why others are not trying things like that, too.

How has no one recommended “Take the Power Back”
I am with you on this and also wake up

Know your Enemy
Definitely, Know Your Enemy too.
I jus did bro the ending of the song when he says “no more lies” gets me soo fuckin hyped
Man, I love watching people get trucked by RATM like this. It’s instantly recognizable as powerful and real. The message is strong and the music is raw, focused passion and anger.

I don't think I've ever stopped listening to them . My favorite band.
Honestly, im starting to discover them. I heard this song when playing it on guitar hero 3. I heard another one of their songs on a radio, down rodeo, and FELL IN LOVE with how hard it went. Today i discovered the meaning of that song, so im gonna go on a journey to discover the true meaning behind zachs bars.
Actually, these guys made the music I went to sleep with at night in my early teens (90s). Times changed, music (overall) sucks these days, problems remained the same though. They are just what their name says, Rage against the machine.
The world never needed RATM and Public Enemy more than ever right now
I just got into them few months ago during this lockdown and fast forward now I've listened to theit whole discography and have been playing their albums on repeat. Still a long journey to dig deeper into their lyrics tho
I love how Rage is motivating a whole new generation. Zach's passion and intensity is second to none, not to mention he's a fkn lyrical genius and Tom is def one of the GOAT's.

Rua Anonphish don’t forget that rhythm section
Yeah, also massive hypocrite. Been an activist but also is apparently OK with tickets costing over $1k for their shows.
Freddy Lim from Chthonic is a much better example of a musician putting his money where his mouth is. Guy has been an activist and also was elected to Taiwanese parliament to make change.
@@christophermichaelheadrick9225 Actually they were furious about it so you should do a little more before you pass judgement on those 'hypocrites'. I mean dude do you realize how hard and how exhausting it would be to be that angry and impassioned about something you've been yelling about for 30 years and it seems like nobody gives a fuck. I mean if it was all about the money they might have got back together earlier and just started putting out Audioslave-esque dog shit.
#IfIgnoranceIsBlissThenKnockTheSmileOffMyFace
Word I like angry Zack
What I love is that at some point Trump was playing RATM at his rallies.
Just imagine one of his slackjawed followers actually listening to the damn songs and actually waking up while standing there, surrounded by everything Rage raged against.
Zack De La Rocha has always have that pure anger and rage in his voice.... the guy is full of emotions.
“Why haven’t y’all told me to listen to RATM before now?”
We have, for months...
Reminds me of that Chapelle Show skit where no one told Arsenio Hall how good the cheese is, lol.
Funny thing about their lyrics: Their songs are nearly 30 years old now (damn I feel old!) yet they are still as relevant now (maybe even moreso) as they were back then. If you haven't checked it out yet, take a look at "wake up." Make sure you bring up the lyric video though. Zak really spits the bars in that one.
Wake Up was going to be my suggestion, too. Another song that sounds awesome and has amazing lyrics.
Lyrics are still relevant because nothing’s gotten better. Worse in fact.
Wake up is one of my favorite songs from any genre period. It's a masterpiece.
I feel like wake up is kinda like know your enemy version 2.0. I love know your enemy too. But yeah. Wake up is for real. That song has literally brought tears to my eyes in the past.
Lyrics are still relevant because it's the human struggle, the masses versus the elite.
Even more so, they were ahead of their time. The proto-fascism they were identifying is in full bloom now with Trump. Wakey-wakey. Time to get up.
Not only he IS rapping, but dropping bar after bar
Zack is one of the most prolifc lyricists

"and then when you flip that rock, I was under another one" - quote of the day, dude. Great reaction to a great band. The MC (at least that's what we 90's white dudes say he is) is Zach de la Rocha, and he is a force of nature. Their first album came out in 92 right after the LA riots, at about the same time as The Chronic. It's surprising to me me that he wasn't better known in the rap/hip hop community. Peace.
