Love your channel bro. Rock Music is mixed totally different from R&B and Hip Hop. This is a video of a rock producer breaking down " Killing in the name" its amazing will change your life.

I recommend Reapers by Muse
"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past." is from George Orwell's book 1984, a book everyone should read.
Dropped by to say exactly this.
Love the fire reactions. Keep up the awesome work 💪🔥
That book is getting more and more important every passing year
Best book I've ever read
Ryan Miller
Counting in days, even in hours soon.
Most people of this generation saw the word book and 1984, then instantly lost interest and pulled up tiktok and started drooling. The future looks so bright....
The thing about RATM, they don't really NEED to release new music to comment on the current political climate. All of their songs are just as relevant today as they were when they were release. That is quite sad, unfortunately.
Damn lol
Man, shit from the 60s and 70s still works today. Sadly, nothing ever seems to change. Still battling similar issues.
Yep, I was listening to them in high school. Really prob the most original band I’ve ever listen too.
@@RocasThePenguin The 60's stuff is great too, they had to hide it from the censors. So at first listen its a silly piece of pop music, but underneath its all rage at the system.
i mean, change does take time. It is frustrating for us who are awake but it's how it's been since eternity.
What you need to know about Rage is they are all geniuses. The lead singer has a PHD, the guitarist has a master's from Harvard, the bassist's father was one of the designers of the space shuttle. They're all people who started a band after obtaining academic success far beyond what most people will ever have. They knew what they were talking about in their songs, and had the brains and background to debate anyone anywhere about it.
Cool
Never confuse education with intelligence.
@@texasrepojoe6755 Well, they managed to write songs three decades ago that are still politically and socially relevant. By this point most of the music of the 90s is gone from pop culture. There's maybe a 100 bands that are still truly popular from then out of thousands, but maybe only a dozen that are socially important in the way Rage is. For actually important to society that said something we got what? NWA, Rage, Public Enemy, Nirvana, Bad Religion? Tupac, Blur? There's very few that were popular and politically impactful in some way, even rarer that they've stayed with us for decades. Rage is one of them. Being in such rarified air does kind of qualify for genius.
@@texasrepojoe6755 We never thought you were smart, don't worry.
@@texasrepojoe6755 Never buy a computer without software. Never throw shade on education.
Rage was this mad when Clinton was president. I'm not sure the world could handle the anger they'd have right now, but I'd love to find out.
Zephyrbal they began to do a reunion tour, before cov19 hit and cancelled the world. I was goin to see em too
Rage At Behest of The Machine
@@Reblwitoutacause Same. I bet they come out with stuff due to all of the insanity and pushing-pulling going on.
I hope they stay away from each other until Covid lifts so they can tour without fighting again! 😆 (but new music would be bad af)
Zach de la roach has been featured on a few run the jewels songs look up Ju$t from jtj4
*You need to see Guerilla Radio, Renegades of Funk, and Sleep Now in the Fire!!*
And Wake Up
And pistol grip pump
their cover of ghost of Tom Joad is a great but depressing piece.
He should react to the live versions of each song. The live version are another beast with higher energy.
And Wake Up and Down Rodeo
“Wake up” and “know your enemy”, dawg it’s a MUST when going into rage. Both bangers.
Yoo u a real fan know your enemy my fav song I just found out ab this channel cause ratm is my fav band and I love seeing this dudes reaction to ratm for the first time
Defintely those two, and I'd add Ashes In The Fall and Maggie's Farm
Bullet in the head and Know your enemy go hard af
Yeah - you can just play the whole damn album! I still have that memorized from the 90's! Love seeing people find Rage
YES
Fun Fact: André 3000 in a recent discussion with Rick Rubin said RATM’s energy and sense of urgency inspired his verse for Bombs Over Baghdad
And Zach did a rare remix of that track.
Rage is the most relevant band of 2020 and they haven't made an album in over a decade.
They don't need to. exactly like you said; the most relevant band. They said what needed to be said
A decade? Try over two decades lol
The funniest part is how they shill for the very people they once spoke out against. Kind of sad.
@@SSD_Penumbra Yep, they "Rage with the Mechine" now
to be honest they dont have to if they went on tour and sung all there old songs from the 90s it would be one of the greatest shows ever
The original Rage Against The Machine were supposed to be doing a Live Tour this year but it got pushed back to 2021 :(
I saw them when battle for Los Angeles came out, awesome concert highly recommend seeing them. Hopefully they come to my neck of the woods so I can see them again.
I had tickets 😭
@@SlowedandReverbCEO Damn that sucks! Did they let you refund or change your date to a 2021 show?
@@bigd7481 Luckily yes, in August 2021
Well, in this additional year break for them they just got a shitload more material to write new singles on....
"Know Your Enemy", "Bombtrack", "Guerilla Radio", "Renegades of Funk" gotta do lyrics with these cats🤘🤘🔥🔥🍻🍻
edit: double shit, 318! thanks peeps 👍
Killing in the name of too 🔥🔥
People of the Sun, Down Rodeo, Bulls on Parade, Calm Like a Bomb, Sleep Now in the Fire
Man, Maggie's Farm never gets love.
He's gotta start doing more than 1 rock song a week or every 2 weeks.
ooo that Renegades though
"imagine if they made a project now" brooo, some of use have been waiting for 20 years.
What makes me sad is, that nothing has changed...the lyrics are still hard hitting lyrics...and apply to our everyday lives. No matter where you live. That makes it even more sad.
Dude your production is underrated, the image quality, 60fps,the contrasts between you and the back light, the mic and sound quality, animations and the whole image is on point , good shit homie
And the framing, the overlays.. yeah, it’s excellent.
When you listen to RATM, you need to have the lyric video my guy, there’s too much truth to their words and music, YOU NEED TO HAVE IT UP 🔥 So many good tunes 🤘🏻
Or have them pulled up separately, I think in this case the visuals added to it.
True, that video was really good though.
He doesn't care, just wants to plug his patreon
As a musician and mixer myself, I can say with confidence that different genres absolutely mix differently. That's part of the defining element of a lot of genres.
They don't even need to release new music right now, their first record is still just as relevant today as it was almost 30 years ago, pretty sad really.
Exactly lol 😂
Im simple, i see rage and reaction in the same title it’s an automatic like
LayedBakDFR has one of the most lit intro's who agrees
agreed
"You up to bat" is a great opening line
onix x_x Very smooth.
Nah it’s “Finnish dat maaan Finnish dat”
Drinkin this water....
You could put all of their songs on a wheel, spin it once a day, and you'd never land on a song that wasn't a banger
RATM has already said it all... and, with everything going on, many of their tracks have re-entered the charts.
Al Gore’s the “other guy.” Video was basically saying that even though him and Bush are members of opposing parties, they’re not that different
Yep two side of the same coin. I've started thinking of it more along the lines of the original party labels in the US: The Federalists and the Democratic Republicans.
Two wings same bird, never seen a war they didn’t like.
For all RATM reactions, you NEED to have the lyrics up or else you’re missing 50% of their genius.
Always a pleasure seeing people hearing Rage for the first time and vibing! Take the power back is one of my favorites from them.
Thanks for dropping some more Rage Against the Machine! 💪You are right, they are fire!
I think it’s really unique how you use your platform to react to genres other than hip-hop. Came for the hip-hop, stayed for the fire content.
I’m new and I like him so far
LayedBakDFR: Thanks for posting this - I haven't heard "Testify" for a long time! What a band - telling truth along to funky, rap-rock music!!! Health is wealth, my friend.
Love the videos! Glad you got turned on Rage! Keep em coming!
KNOW YOUR ENEMY. SO MANY SONGS
ALSO PROPHETS OF RAGE MAN
AND BODY COUNT WHO IS ICE T'S METAL BAND
I have suggested Body Count on multiple channels, haven’t seen one do it yet.
Butay hey layedbak listen to this guy he knows good music
Yeah body count - "no lives matter"
wwebadgerse I suggest he listens to the whole Cop Killer album.
TELL HIM!
Through your reactions, I really find some new love for songs I heard so often that I wasn't enjoying them as much as I used to. Cause the kind of hype you get from rock music, reminds me of me listening to all those songs for the first time.
Thank you for that and keep the vids coming. Best regards from Germany. 🙏🏻😊
Amen bro
Love your Rock Music videos, my man. Keep em coming.
I love how you're dissecting his words bro. I'm smiling watching your reaction. These guys were an up rising against The Man!
This band helped educate so many, including me! Issues were brought to the forefront through their music, it made a generation realize what was going on! So cool to see someone feel the energy now! It still gives me the same upper over 20 years later #renegade !
This is such a 🔥 video. Your reactions and excitement about this real shit is so rad to watch.
Great reaction my brother. Know your enemy will blow your mind and take the power back
Try Run The Jewels "Ju$t". Zach and Pharrell are featured.
Had to check out as everyone recommends. Didn't think much of it. Like water compared to whiskey. Too thin and weak for my liking✊✊✊🙏
Count to Fuck is another good one
That whole new energy has a similar angry political feel that a lot of rage has
The video to "Don't get Captured" is wild
It's definitely the mix. Since the 90's, when it came to rock music the vocals are often treated as another instrument because it's less about the singer and more about the group as a whole.
Production value is awesome man! I dig it.
Don't normally like these reaction type videos but you're actually paying attention to the songs and it's cool, Keep it up
So glad you reacted to them again, made my morning
RATM - Down Rodeo (lyrics video)
Great one! These guys are fire! "Know Your Enemy", "Down Rodeo" and "Guerilla Radio" are must listen: Power, groove, funk, bars and Morello´s scratching like a king. Peace!
Bombtrack and renegades of funk as well! Great songs
@@johndouglas93 yes they are!
Bro, love your Rage reactions! Your excitement is contagious! You GOTTA react to Wake Up!
I love your reaction videos, subscribed immediately :)
It's really nice seeing people appreciate RATM and giving them due credit.
“Sleep now in the fire” is a must and the most recent recordings of “Rage” is Prophets of Rage which consists of Tom Morello, Chuck D, B-Real, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk and DJ Lord and they’ve also had guest singers at their concerts 👌🏽
Their energy is contagious. You’re right in thinking that if a new RATM album came out now it probably would blow the charts!
Gotta love this channel 💪🏼🔥
I love your videos man. It’s nice seeing a critique from an intelligent person.
YO! I’ll be waiting for that DOWN RODEO reaction
U Saintwinnin fax that songs my fav ratm song
When i see all these headlines, like "protest" "kid killed" "quarantine" it really makes me feel some type of way! Then seeing a rapper react to my favorite music growing up, just brings it back to some calmness. When rage against the machine calms you down, you know some shits going on..
Do you mean 'calm like a bomb'?)
One thing that the best musicians of all genres have in common: Music is a platform, and when everyone is listening you'd better say something worth hearing.
That "Who controls the past" quote is from George Orwell's 1984. It's a great book. Really heavy political satire. Definitely check it out.
It's Rage, just ring the bell at the start you know it's 🔥. Also check out the live version of this from Finsbury Park, Tom making sounds with the audio cable and his hand is amazing.
Need to react to down rodeo with the lyrics
Down Rodeo for sure
True dat!
For real!
Just found your channel and I'm loving all of your content man, you have such a good musical ear! From melody to mixing nuances, nothing gets past you! I suggested this on another video but I'll do it again: Needles and Pins by Deftones
I’m loving these RATM reviews man. Glad I found you.
When you are 20+yrs late to the RATM party. Their concerts were so energetic a fun! They were constantly on the FBI watch list and other agencies as well. They did a reunion tour a year or two ago but hopefully they are working on some new stuff to bring to this generation. BTW you might want to have a lyric video up when listening to their songs because of the wording is so on point!
“Mass graves for the pump when the price is set... when the price is set....”✊️
(Check out sleep now in the Fire next such a crazy ass video from rage)
Zack Dela Rocha, the singer, has done stuff with Run The Jewels and DJ Shadow that you might want to check out and Tom Morello (guitar) is now doing stuff with Chuck D in Prophets of Rage so he hasn't stopped the conscious stuff and there's rumors that Rage is working on something too!
If anyone needs the lyrics, here they are UwU
[Intro]
Uh
[Verse 1]
The movie ran through me
The glamour subdue me
The tabloid untied me
I'm empty. please fill me
Mister Anchor, assure me
That Baghdad is burning
Your voice, it is so soothing
That cunning mantra of killing
I need you, my witness
To dress this up so bloodless
To numb me and purge me now
Of thoughts of blaming you
Yes, the car is our wheelchair
My witness, your coughing
Oily silence mocks the legless ones
Who travel now in coffins
[Pre-Chorus]
While on the corner (Corner)
The jury's sleepless (Sleepless)
We found your weakness (Weakness)
And it's right outside your door
[Chorus]
Now testify
Now testify
It's right outside your door, now testify
Yes, testify
It's right outside your door
[Verse 2]
With precision you feed me
My witness, I'm hungry
Your temple, it calms me, so I can carry on
My slaving, sweating the skin right off my bones
On a bed of fire, I'm choking on the smoke that fills my home
The wrecking ball is rushing
Witness your blushing
The pipeline is gushing
While here we lie in tombs
[Pre-Chorus]
While on the corner (Corner)
The jury's sleepless (Sleepless)
We found your weakness (Weakness)
And it's right outside your door
[Chorus]
Now testify
Yeah, testify
It's right outside your door
Now testify
Now testify
And it's right outside your door
[Post-Chorus]
Mass graves for the pump when the price is set
When the price is set
Mass graves for the pump when the price is set
When the price is set
Mass graves for the pump when the price is set
When the price is set
Mass graves for the pump when the price is set
When the price is set
[Guitar Solo]
[Bridge]
Who controls the past now, controls the future
Who controls the present now, controls the past
Who controls the past now, controls the future
Who controls the present now?
[Chorus]
Now testify
Testify
It's right outside your door
Now testify
Testify
It's right outside your door
"Can you imagine if Rage Against The Machine dropped a project right now?"
Yes, I can. It's called Prophets of Rage. Same core as Rage, except instead of Zack doing vocals, it's Chuck D and B-Real. Check out Unfuck The World.
There's a lot of people inspired by them, inspired by their inspirations, or just generally talking about the same things. Body Count is another good example
My late husband used to have a saying about political candidates--"You take Sally, I'll take Sue; there is no difference between the two."
Terri Ertz so sorry for your loss. I’m glad you have memories to share, that’s a great saying!
@@MandiCollins Thank you.
I like that. Ima steal that lol. That's deep.
Well said!
@@theparadisesnare Thank you.
This is the consistently best live song I’ve ever seen. Every performance they do of Testify is a banger.
You need to see them do this song live man. So much energy. You won't be able to handle it my dude
Denzel Curry does a cover of their song bulls on parade you need to listen
Bulls on Parade is one he needs to do too
I'm a fan from Syria and I always wanted you to react to syrian rap.
There's this rapper called volcano Mc he has a track called Sollom bel 3rd you should check it out I know you wont understand the lyrics but still it's dope!
I'm late to the party, but we need a Playlist of Rage... and we need more Rage reviews!! Love it, keep it coming!!
You are 100% correct, the music in the 90's and early 00's they did not bring the vocals forward. The idea was contrary to the glam rock of the 80's where the focus was on the vocals and the obligatory guitar solos. That was a big component of grunge music and it bled over into other genres.
Rage against the machine "people of the sun" and "renegades of funk"
Great recommendations that you dont often see here on YT. I also love Vietnow
And bombtrack! That’s my favorite song by them
Rage re-enters charts with 20 year old songs, Testify!
I just saw your video reaction I know it have passed 8 months, but what I do, when I hear a song like this with deep meaning, I like to read the lyrics while I'm listening to this song, so I can get the message that they r putting out.
Great point about the mix. You're totally right about Metal. Usually the voice is a little more back in the mix.
Need a reaction to some Ice Nine Kills!!
Like how the title is still “First reaction to rock music” after multiple videos with the same title
cheeky title and it works
Strongly recommend listening with lyrics pulled up, also strongly recommend watching live shows. In my 40 years of life a band has never moved me more!
Best reaction to RATM I've ever seen.... greetings from Brasil!
Every time my black friends discover RAM I smile, in the 90s this was angry white kid music lol
“Vengeful one” by Disturbed
Or the entire Sickness Album.
You can feel through the whole video that you get it man! Rage against the machine aren’t playing around, these dudes are for real! Watching you listen for the first time reminds me of what it was like when I first felt that hype.
By the way, that line “who controls the past controls the future, and who controls the present controls the past” is from George Orwell’s book, 1984. Just thought I’d let you know.
Keep doing good videos, good vibes!!

They need to drop something soon :(
Lol
All Rage reactions require lyrics my man!!🔥🔥🔥✌️
"We found your weakness and it's right outside your door..." I bought this on CD as soon as it was released. I heard this line and wondered what they were trying to tell me, so I looked outside my door. There was my car along with a parking lot full of my neighbor's cars.

First Song they played after a 10 year hiatus. First show back at randalls island Rock the Bells. I was in the crowd. The anticipation was insane. When they came out and hit the first notes of this song the crowd moved forward like 20 feet I was lifted completely off the ground and Im a big guy. Those of us who grew up in the 80's never forgave Al Gore's wife for leading the "Washington Wives" to label music they deemed to be "offensive". He's guilty by association.
Absofuckinglutely!!! Fuck Tipper Gore!!!
IIRC, many bands took that label as a badge of honor! Still, I think it would have been a much different world if that election hadn't been so cocked-up and we'd gotten Gore over Bush.
It was honestly funny to see that this video showed you EXACTLY who they are!
I saw them in Coachella Music Fest 99 . 🤘 One of my Fav band
@LayedBakDFR when they record they record as a live band inside the studio so everyone is playing at the same time so that’s why the sound sounds so raw and the vocals sound like they’re meshed together.
Dude this Legends are needed rigth know !!!!!!
I'm happy to see that you're listening to some better bands during your "Rock" reactions.
It's mixed more like a rock song, where the vocals are a bit more "buried in" with the instrumental. It makes everything generally "bigger and louder" which rock benefits from.
