I wish we had a hardware store like yours in our town. They are a vanishing breed with big box stores running small guys out of business.
This is an amazing video. Lots of knowledge to be learned on these. Many plumbers I know will see these UR toilets and be scared to fix them or can’t find parts and will just change it out. I always repair them even if I have to ride 30 miles to find a part.
Needless to say, I was shocked when I went to go fix one of these toilets. Thanks for the info, I ordered the repair kit!
When I was a kid in the 80's I remember seeing this. It was a weird design compared to what I saw in the old home improvement books, even then I wondered how those could be fixed. Eventually the flush seal wore out and my dad had to to take apart the toilet and having to put a new Plumb Pak flush valve it because he couldn't figure it out either. I don't think there are many of these in existence anymore.
TY Blair!
I love old Universal Rundle toilets
The Case 1000 is my fav, not really. Too low…
@@MrHardware1 I own a 1926 Case T/N "Kidney" toilet:) it's my oldest piece
My dad made these toilets and sinks for 32 years,
Back when universal was owned by nortek inc.... it was a great company, i worked for universal Rundle corporation in 2004, the best toilets ever made, then they sold out to crane plumbing and crane plumbing merged with elger and then they sold out to American standard in 2008, they shut down all the us plants in 2008, i believe the monroe Georgia plant was the last one to close, its sad, cause most of the guys who worked there are now deceased, they also had a plant in Venezuela as well
