Hey Steve. Your right, everything sags as you get older, lol. 👍👍
What is the model number for this gasket? You mentioned there are two types and I have this exact toilet.
Seniors are the best, get great tips and tea and biscuits from them, young kids today are bastards...
Simple fix, Cut off its legs, that would definitely prevent it from running, yeah I know, too corny for this neighborhood!!
😂😂😂😂😂
I like this Mansfield flush. Better than the chain.
Sweet old lady. Wish all my customers were that nice!
The cattywampus comment was hysterical. BTW this video was super helpful. Thank you.
Vaseline works great! It helps restore the flexibility of the gasket, until you can order one for a replacement 😉
Seems once I f... with the valves I have to replace them too ,fact any old looking valve I just replace it when jacking around .
Steve that’s the only toilet on planet you can modify to have a 3 gal flush
The black slide gets a slightly different white one good supply houses offer and bye bye 1.6 gallon loser flush
Keep the main line with more of a flush
Those handles break a lot on those toilets
Owning a toilet shouldn’t be so difficult. I’m at my wits end! One year of monkey-ing with this garbage I’m ready to build an outhouse.
"Everything sags when you get older.....everything sags" GOLD!
Tcb looking out for the elders. I know you are honest! Helping my dad all the time. Unfortunately people out there prey on elders. They will gets theres!
Thank you , as a single mom this video saved me money and showed me how to repair it myself
It's got to be a bit more difficult explaining and showing elderly people what works and how it works. I know, I work amongst them in an elderly 122 unit facility. God bless them but there are times they can't comprehend what you intent to do, and it seems you can never work alone, they are right there next to you seeing what you are doing, lol. Good patience you showed there Steve. Keep the video's coming.....
Two toilets that were in our house had this flush valve. They always were hard to flush or leaked, sometimes both. I changed them out to the flapper style after screwing with those for a couple of years.
One washer & check the drain 150$ 🤔😂🤣
🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺🍇🏌
Stay safe.
Retired keyboard super tech.
Wear your safety glasses.
My toilet is still leaking even after the new seal. I’m going to have to rotate it
Hey Steve, after changing the red gasket I still have an occasional leak. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.
Me too
Good morning Steve, nice fix, what I try doing on those pesky leaking bonnet nuts is first loosen it up a tad before tightening it backup ,it seems to make it tighten up and stop the dripping a bit easier.
They make a yellow one now not sure if material is different but Mansfield changed it nice job Steve !!!
Steve, I see some of the Mansfields leak or trickle regardless of a new flush valve, fill valve, tank gasket or that red gasket. Do you have a trick?. And, yes they are clean. I have one trick.
I keep replacing those danged gaskets, I bought a box of them. It keeps leaking....
I have those exact same tiles in my house. 1961 vintage. If you look close, you see what looks like a baby chick in the design. Odd place for the soap dish.
No it's not taking it seriously the drain is fine
Hey pronounce "car". Is it ka.
Great video, lol !! Hey lady let me do my job :}
thanks.. i'd like to see how to change a toto canister gasket if you get one of those.... thanks for all the great videos
Hello from the great state of Michigan
Hello there!
Good Sunday morning Steve and “Miss Molly”!
good morning
I've been replacing these flush valves in my house and shop about every 2 or 3 years. This latest bout the toilet continues to run no matter what. So I'm thinking I'll just convert to a flapper style. The black rubber seal beneath the red seal I'm beginning to think may be causing the issue.
Lol I love it man! “Ma’am, let me do my job!” I’m a plumber in florida(retirement capital of the country) and I constantly have to tell customers that they called me to fix the issue so let me do my job lol
she was trying to help me but just getting in my way ..she ment well
Love the ism “go patty whompuss” 💯👍nice narration and great customer relations! It’s nice to see a fellow tradesman love what they do
Thanks for taking good care of the old folks.
I love your videos, are so relaxing and you are always in a good mood. You inspire trust
poor lady
i tell people same thing about tubs....30 gallons of water going down a one inch drain takes awhile....goes down shower good to go..
Hello Steve great video do you know where to fin toilet model number
That’s why they made viagra. Lol That’s what I heard anyway. Lol
Thanks guy, you saved me a few hundred bucks 👍
Let me do my job! Hahahaha I hate when the homeowner is trying to tell me how to do my job
Nice job....Senior Citizens are funny
Man just let her give you that shower lol 😂✌️
Never much cared for Mansfield toilets. Have to push harder on the handle as the gasket ages, and the plastic handles can break. They have a weak flush too.
They are junk.
She was going to get in the shower and show you
We all SAG... LOL....
..... LOL..... WE GET older..
She's a leaker, Mr. Grinch.
good enough for this neighborhood..lol
I have never a toilet valve like that before.

Awesome fixer man help me
She’s a saggy one mama!
Great job and video like always ( Steven
Morning and great job
Morning!
My Homeboy Steve Lav.
I couldn`t figure out what she was talking about with the water not going down. Maybe she just closed the drain while showering and the water built-up, and then interfered with the vent pipe, forming a temporary vacuum when she tried to drain it?
Seems to me the 2 of you weren’t really listening to each other.
I’d have drawn a shallow tub-full 3-4” of HOT water to pre-test whatever she was complaining about.
Personally just running shower water down for 3 minutes isn’t gonna test drainage capacity much.
Gotta empty a small tub full of standing warm-hot water and see what customer actually means.
She wasn’t clear, but she gets a pass being elderly, not hearing well, fumbling for best words. My 92 yo Mom is same way.
Steve also explains things in terms that non-toolie customers don’t really grasp.
I’ll give him a pass too, it’s the way he is, but I hear how he explains things to customers in most vids, and it’s too much plumber jargon and spoken too quickly to them.
Just my reactions to what I saw and heard here.
@@throttlebottle5906 My home is so old that the tub STILL requires a stopper. But I am so old that I now shower, only. Last time I tried to get in the tub, I could barely get OUT!
@@dock_yard1149 I don`t doubt what you say, here, but I don`t grasp what the major difference is between 3/4" of standing water and a running shower other than an air-lock potential. I am probably not nearly as experienced as you--is likely why.
🛠️👍👍👍🌏🇸🇮
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What do you do if your shit is to big to go down the drain and it stops it up??
stop shitting in the shower?
Who said anything about a shower lol?? Uhh this video is titled about a toilet and is working on a toilet...
@@wilbertbirdner1303 ahhh nevermind... you talking about the shower drain the lady thought was stopped up lol 😆
What do you use to hold your camera? It's so steady. I've toyed with the idea of starting a UA-cam channel. Thx
I USE SMALL CAMERA STANDS SOME BIGGER ONES DEPANDS THAT I AM DOING .. NO ONE WANTS TO WATCH A LOT OF MOVEMENT IN A VIDEO
I have a Mansfield downstairs. Have to change that gasket about every two years. The fill valve every 3 to 4 years. Last weekend had to change the angle stop also because it wouldn't stop dripping even after tightening the packing. Pretty easy work, but draining down the water system for the whole house is a bit of a pain.
