Very awesome and interesting toilet, the 1967 universal rundle new mercury is a toilet I’ve never seen before in the toilet community until today, definitely majestic
My guess is that this is what became the Citations sometime in the 1970s, but they never did any major design changes aside from switching to 3.5 GPF I believe.
Citations is an entirely made up name and I have no idea where it came from. This is the New Mercury and the one with the concealed siphonjet is the Mercury.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations some were made in South America by venceramica(under Cisa/Briggs) now. if you look up their commercials and lines everything looks exactly the same. My grandma even had one that said made in Chile.
I really want to like these but the flush makes me think they would struggle with performance. I’m sad I had to dissect the older one I had. It would have been cool to do tests on it
Nice toilet - this Universal Rundle (New Mercury) seems to be a good toilet with its cool majestic retro vibes!
I like the look of these as well as the flush.
Good flush, and a generous trapway.
They're actually pretty small trap ways when you look at it up close

I've seen a fair few of them but not many recently.
I like the opening of the trapway on this toilet
It's unique
Awesome toilet!
Yeah!
Amazing toilet
Ikr!
It's an overall great toilet, but i wonder where do people get the name "citations"? When it is LITERALLY a mercury. Rating: 9,5/10.
Yeah, it's just a ridiculous made up name
Oh well, maybe the original person that call these "citations" has to cite a website link to buy one of these for sale lol. Nah i'm kidding.
what's the difference between this and a citations

Smaller trap way opening on a Citations and also a pointy base instead of flat.

Awesome toilet
I like them
Awesome looking toilet

These must be the ones made in Venezuela (By Venceramíca)
Universal Rundle made all of their toilets in the US.

Cool toilet
Agreed
Basically a Citations
This is what people thought was a Citations but that was disproven when catalog pages surfaced with the real name which is the New Mercury.
I really want to like these but the flush makes me think they would struggle with performance. I’m sad I had to dissect the older one I had. It would have been cool to do tests on it
They don't seem to be terribly hard to find so I think you'll be able to get one soon enough.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations Yeah I see them for sale all the time I just never feel like they are worth going out of my way to get lol
It used 3.5 GPF.
That seems about accurate. I don't think these tanks are very big
Too bad they have it a bit water-starved. It could use a bit of a boost in the flush.
They both seemed a little bit weak.
Nice toilet
Yeah
A late predecessor to the Citations.
The Citations never existed, this is what people referred to as the Citations before the real name was actually discovered.
Good toilet
I agree
isnt this a citations
Citations was never a real name, they were always called Mercuries.
