This is amazing. I don’t think there is a single channel that is doing it like this. Step by step with dyno numbers to show progress
I try to do the best I can. I can’t always get a Dyno after each and ever mod but I sure try too.
You provide many information for a J series builds
Got a j37 upper intake and throttle body and ported and polished lower intake runners on my 09 odyssey.
She's really breathing now! Good job man!
Just think, you can add 3%-10% more volume of air through a larger diameter throttle-body, it really is that simple. I've always known the J37A and J37A4 are quality Honda builds, from factory. Next step would be to bore out that intake manifold for the supercharger, and bore out that throttle-adapter-plate, so that it's not constricted by the taper, because you'd be removing the taper and using the adapter plate, as the new mount, for the intake-manifold. Less vacuum leak too, that way. Wait to dyno test, AFTER the plate and intake is bored out to the thickness of the J37A throttlebody.
I have that exact Comptech supercharger kit and can't wait to install it!!
I want to find one and try it on a new MDX
I can easily see this channel going to 100k subs, keep it up man, now I wanna buy a TL lol
Thanks and that would be cool to have 100k subscribers but more important to me is helping and reaching people.
Bigger badder faster! Lets go!
I would go like all out but I love the reliability of this daily but I am gonna squeeze as much out as I can 😁
Good progress. Your low end torque must have improved. Waiting for dyno.
Love the content bro ❤️ but in the tl community matte black is a color that doesn’t really go with the tl try a nice blue or red , make this car look loud like that supercharger ❤️❤️❤️
Already have all the stuff for matte black and it’s not your normal paint job it will make sense eventually lol
Yes more power !!! The lighting strike was cool as well I know for sure your at HP numbers are going to 350 I love your TL build man can't wait for the next video keep them coming !!
Thanks Jonathan I’m happy with how it is. Even if it’s not the fastest tl ever it’s plenty fast for me lol
Lol love the cram counter! That elbow should make a huge difference in airflow over that restrictive adapter!
Exactly! I had it all planned out it’s about the only time I ever planned anything on this build lol 😂 but yea I didn’t know how many times I said it until I edited lol 😂
Seeing your videos makes me miss my car but also making me want a tl. Great job james
Great video bro, you "crammed" alot of great info into it 👍🤣 seriously though thanks for the video she's coming along nicely.
I didn’t realize until editing that I said it that many times lol
Finally you installed the j37. Lol. Can’t wait to see the numbers increase.
For sure definitely gonna need a proper retune to get the full benefits
Brother, love the content! Keep it up!
Thank you 🙏🏻
You're doing great, thanks for the video
Thanks 🙏🏻
doing a great job. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you 🙏🏻 will do my best
That lightning strike was gnarly
Man, that throttle body and massive intake tube/filter looks like a killer combo! Im sure that blower is very happy now!
Yea for sure! It definitely likes it with the mods now but definitely needs a proper retune to really take advantage because it seems to have lost a little power in some spots but also seems to have gained on top end.
@@TexasHondaChannel I think the smaller throttle body increased the velocity of airflow which would probably given you lower end torque
@@spankthemonkey3437 I agree with James. What you're saying would be true for a naturally aspirated setup, but James has a roots style supercharger. They make tons of low end torque and absolutely benefit from as little restriction as possible.
@@chrishernandez2490 I wasn't disagreeing with anything he said just gave a possible reason why it might have lost on lower end. If the supercharger benefit from a bigger throttle body on top end the smaller one should give a benefit to lower end torque
@@spankthemonkey3437 I think once he tunes it he should see a boost in power on the low end as well. We'll see when he posts the dyno vid, I could be wrong.
I would remove the inlet on the SC and port it out with the spacer . Also the adapter makes a good place for one of your meth nozzles it will cool off the rotors on the M62 .
Dang man that car is coming along nicely 👌
Thank you 🙏🏻 I appreciate it. It’s making progress slowly but surely
looks good mate
Thank you 🙏🏻
Your an inspiration!! Can’t wait to see it on 8 pounds
Same here!
Thank you for the content. I want to swap that Jswap to an eg all motor plus Nos
That rain was a killer it made my belt slip and blow my water pump and power steering it even cracked a pulley out on ave b when it flooded
Dang man that sucks. I am lucky I didn’t have that issue. Sorry to hear :/
Air in.....air out=horsepower😉
Good stuff man
Thanks man
You have awesome content 👏
Thank you 🙏🏻
🔥 cant wait to see the new numbers! What bolt ons are you missing now? I got the obx precats and jpipe for about $500 for both. They usually sell out quick but try to find one
I am gonna do the pre cat deletes then it’s ready for a retune to get the most out of it.
Yeeaaaahhhh....that needs matched to the TB man
It’s tapered down and in the video it looks like there is a lip there but in person if you were to see it you would understand. Videos are never the exact thing and camera plays tricks. Feel free to set up a time to come check it out.
Thanks for the upload. Quick quest.... (1) Why don't you bolt up the J37 directly to the Intake manifold? (would that make a big difference) And (2) Where can I get that data logging/tuning program from?
I have another video that explains how to use a Hondata tuning for the 07-08 on a 06 like I am using. I got it off Hondata website. I am supercharged so I can’t bolt directly to the manifold unless I take the supercharger off the car.
Hi do you have the healight? Tnk you!
Awesome. Ready to see the new dyno #s
You and me both man!
@@TexasHondaChannel actually got some work done on mine today as well. Got coilovers raised up some so I'm not dragging and got camber adjusted now ready get to driving it soon hopefully
@@GlassWerx Awesome I love that your making progress too!
@@TexasHondaChannel appreciate it. If damn rain would let up I got alot more stuff for it to install/film
@@GlassWerx yes tell me about it
We're I can find the 7pds pulley?
What's the boost limits of the blower setup? If it's capable of more pressure then after the methanol it'd be much safer to turn up.
It’s usually around 8-9psi max on the m62
Great build, awesome little tricks that work. You had me up until you said matte black. So overdone dude. Not my car, but I see so many matte black vehicles it makes me wanna cry.
It’s going bed liner matte black not over done haha everyone will hate me but I have autism and love the texture. Ever see a Acura TL with a bedline paint job? I haven’t 🤷🏻♂️😁
Where did you get the throttle body??
What ecu u r running
Where can I find that supercharger
You may want to look into a stiffer pipe from s/c to intake it collapses alot at under vacuum
I just bought this one it’s 4 ply even lol 😂 it will work for now but eventually ima have the entire thing redone with solid pipe so it won’t be a issue with collapsing
@@TexasHondaChannel wow it's already 4 ply that things is sucking some air lol. It's just something I saw when you were testing the new throttle body in the video
@@anthonybarr250 yea I noticed it too but it seems like it’s driving good and holding pressure but yea ima have to get a solid pipe made for it
That lightning strike 1000% would be cool in you intro. The sound.
True haha
It’s making 350 or even more for sure
One more before bed 🛏
Always one more before bed haha
Think there is any advantage doing something similar on a stock d16?
yea getting a skunk2 intake manifold and 70mm throttle body. But if you wanna stay stock intake manifold I would get a b18 throttle and port match it. I have video on this channel on how to do it
Also there is a Jackson racing supercharger setup that fits a D series, if you can find one. Good hunting.
Where is the battery
How big is the super charger inlet?
I believe it’s right around 75mm I believe
Would this supercharger fit the j37 motor I have a 3.7 and wanting to convert this supercharger to it
Its should technically fit...
Can I put a J37 throttle body on my J35A8? My original is squeaking during low throttle.
Yes but needs this adapter to work I believe. I could be wrong
Get it boy!
I’m on it! :)
👍👍👍🌵🌵🌵
So you CAN supercharge throttle by wire J3x engines. I have seen that 1st gen Honda Pilot with the supercharger but that has a cable throttle. Prank Parts doesn't make the adapter plate anymore for the M90 supercharger for J35 engines. I'm about to go back to school for advanced manufacturing. Once I learn how to use a CNC machine, I will be making my own adapter plate for my 2011 Honda Pilot.
That aluminum M90 adapter for the J series is currently for sale on their website right now. Are you saying that this isn't the correct one? That adapter should work on any J-Series engine but I cannot confirm this because the guys at PrankParts won't reply to my emails or phone calls.
@@redlinemotorsports187 at the time of posting this, it was out of stock. Either way, I’ll be making my own once I learn how to properly use CNC machines, my professor is even willing to help me along with other students. I might even go with a different solution I saw, where the whole intake manifold is replaced and the supercharger sits lower in the V of the engine block
@@charminbaer2323Now that sounds like a plan! Let me know if you do this. I think it's insane that they want over $600 for a metal plate. I want to install an M90 on my 2004 Acura MDX that has a drive by wire J35A5.
@@redlinemotorsports187 yeah, my 2011 Pilot is drive by wire too, J35Z4. The older J35's 2 drive belts, a separate one for the power steering. the newer J35's have one serpentine belt, so gotta figure out the position of the supercharger so it lines up with the belt and other pulleys. There's not a lot of info with regards supercharging a J35 with drive by wire out there.
Just a question this tb would work on a 2004 TSX???
If it’s the J35 yes with the adapter plate
@@TexasHondaChannel thanks for the reply so the j37 won't fit??
Tsx is a 4 banger not gonna work
@@SaintlySlays The 2010-2014 TSX have a v6 Option btw. It’s the J35z6
@@gerardogoveche8064 I think p2R makes a adapter to fit this throttle on the K series
My guess will be 356hp
Gotta ask u can I use any of these mods on my 2018 tlx aspec it has the 3.5 v6 believe j35 engine
Some of them you can use. Like the j37 throttle on the j35 that’s a decent mod and the lower intake runners from p2R the thermal gasket and intake spacer from p2R
@@TexasHondaChannel aight kool thank u so much cuz I've been asking around and no one has a decent answer for me jus how would I go about the j37 throttle body and the intake spacers u were saying as well
Are the j35 runners lower than j30 intake runners..? Please reply
Next you should bore it 20 over and throw some big pistons and j35 crankshaft and 1000cc injectors and a hiflow pump
I’m not going that far with this. It’s my daily that gets really good MPG has nice cold a/c and I’m poor AF. If I can’t squeeze anymore out without going internally then it stays where it is. Maybe once I become rich i would do that stuff and put it in a shell of some sort maybe slap it in a Subaru just to make the world mad. I’m good at making people mad apparently lol
@@TexasHondaChannel making people mad is fun. I’m poor too. Just picked up an 04 TL. Before any power mods I’m going through engine mounts, bushings, brakes, transmission. Etc
I’d love to have a garage to actually work on it
@@TexasHondaChannel your channel is great though! Keep it up. I appreciate all the time you’ve spent going through your build
@@tylerbuchanan6822 thanks and I appreciate you. Trust me spent many many years without a garage and it sucked so bad I feel like a spoiled brat with this garage. Some times I work outside in the elements just to never forget how good I have it now.
@@TexasHondaChannel I’m in an apartment complex that gets pissed when I’m working on my cars because it’s “against the lease agreement” which sounds more like “go pay more money to a mechanic”
I just drive across the road to a office parking lot and work there. It’s flat and low traffic. I’m in the PNW so I have to worry about sudden rain if I’m opening up anything sensitive
Pppppfffffff.. fine tune these nuts bro. My 02 accord ex coupe would embarrass that TL!!..✌️🤤😭🤣
Probably and idc 🤷🏻♂️
@@TexasHondaChannel is he challenging you ID have to race after comment like that😏
@@spankthemonkey3437 Not worth it. He has a super fast accord I wouldn’t stand a chance he has a COUPE jeez everyone on the whole planet knows the coupes are always always always faster than the heavy 4 doors. 🤣 people always have the biggest opinions on the internet and the fastest cars in the comments but my channel has videos which means I can prove I’m slow.
