don't do the high mileage interval in that motor if your still using vtec it will destroy the sensor. its also not good for the timing chain tensioner if its controlled with oil pressure like my engine. amsoil is great but the viscosity changes with time and thats not good for those systems. i been using amsoil in my civic since brand new and its got close to 250k on it. the first 30k i changed the oil 2 times but 10k into the second at 30k i needed a new vtec solenoid and chain guides because i was doing the 20k oil changes, when the oil gets thicker the tensioner doesn't get tight like it should and the chain slaps destroying the plastics. compression was same as new i kept testing it regularly as i didnt trust the high mileage changes but it was fine in that sense. those two systems just dont agree with higher mileage oil. change it every 5000 miles maybe even less since its boosted. sending the oil out for testing every 3000 miles i seen it loses viscosity at around 5k. amsoil high mileage changes is for old carb engines with fixed timing and valves viscosity doesn't matter in those but it matters alot in hondas
My engine don’t have timing chain or tensioner with oil that runs through it but either way I don’t trust any oil change for 15,000 miles but after doing research it can go that long on these engines with no problems due to it being a synthetic oil. My friend who has the same engine did it and at 10k miles sent a oil sample in and they said it has another 5,000 miles left before needing changed. I was dumbfounded but I am supercharged so I won’t trust it that long but if I were to drive it respectfully i could easily go 10k miles without worry. I won’t go that long either way but I could if need be. Thanks for the input by the way I appreciate it.
@@TexasHondaChannel yea i dont know that engine to well thats good to know. but i would trust 10k miles with a bypass filter those things are legit the filter last like 2 years 80k and they filter the oil fully several times an hour and filter smaller than 1 micron plus they add more capacity a duel bypass is like an extra 3 quarts.
Actually 4.5 does seem low. Come to think about it the gtr probably does take alot more lol Bet u can get away with filling it to MAX or 85/100 before adding bestline since its thinner Even with boost! Lol? I just keep my stock 3.5 at MAX with 10w30
It is torn lol 😂 ima upgrade to 500hp cv axles before we head to the track. So far not making noise or causing issues so im just buying time so I can get more money lol

I checked the level after running the engine and everything it was dead on at 4.5qts

Syncromesh that’s what I use and it does awesome in there.
