Thank you for explaining what your MDX gets for gas-mileage. That Initially gave me the impression that you were getting 30+ avg, It makes sense that is just while cruising at highways speeds. I drive a lot and am getting 23.5-25.9 mpg regularly in my '03 Accord with a J30A4.
Yea no problem and j30 are usually decent on fuel they are .5 liter smaller so that helps too. My TL with the J32 was getting 38highway when I was supercharged and it was awesome! We did a 8hr trip and averaged 38 it peaked at 40 I was blown away. Did video and all
Yes they really do. I used their stuff on my TL before and wasn’t disappointed. I love trying new companies out too. It’s nice being able to send stock runners and have them ported by SMP performance. Might have to send some other things for port work in the future.
Great updates as always! Doing the brakes n struts on the Camry next week! Looking into a turbo kit for the 2.2 Toyota 4 cylinder (1999), and continuing in with vinyl graphics once the weathers better (racing strips). Keep the videos coming :-)
When I get my 05 Odyssey back on the road(electrical problems) or just break down and replace it with a similar year Odyssey or Pilot. Will do this upgrade. Right now my Element is taking all my money.

Wow I need to update n upgrade mys need hit up yard and send him a set .. all you need now is j37 throttle body and some update free flow exhaust kit .
If I could find a J37 intake manifold I would swap the entire manifold and throttle over but since we don’t race it and only baby the car everywhere it will be perfect! I have just discovered your channel. What have you done to bolster the transmission? I know that was the weak point for these and many other Honda/Acuras of that time period.
Fuck man i wish u was in nyc !! I got a 02 mdx just hit 250k need some work. Saw how u brought the mdx back too life. & the little upgrades u have done.
@@TexasHondaChannel do you have confidence on rod bearings. I did the bearings on my y7 when I swapped my transmission. It wasn't original motor but the motor was covered in grease and looked older than my car but it doesn't smoke so I replace bearings only. Maybe its just me but I wouldn't trust to many hard runs on a high milage engine even if it was taken care of. I know these engines can go 300 to 400,000 miles so it might be ok for a little while.
@@spankthemonkey3437 Honda engines are really good even higher milage ones. I run really good oil and best line racing additive to prevent premature wear. It’s been proven on lubricity testers and under extreme conditions. Im not worried about bearing failure as much as I am timing belt failure due to the stress. Barely push the gas it and goes so my wife will love that when it comes to the hills.
@@spankthemonkey3437 Also Y7 engines are TERRIBLE when it comes to bearing failure. They have 1 oil hole for cooling VS the z6 or even d15b7. The y7/y8 are the worst cranks you can have in a d series so they are prone to failure no matter what you do to them. We have 03 MDX that was running great until about 2 weeks ago all of a sudden starts misfiring and now is even having trouble staying running. Coils are good spark plugs are brand new now narrowing it down to the cats. No emissions laws here in New Mexico so considering a cat delete would you go that route? If so how do you work around the 02s? Is is there any kind of simulator harness for it?
Same here . Im a mechanic I own 2 MDXs both get awful mpg . About 15 mpg . both trucks are doggy at times and sometimes they have plenty of power. sounds crazy . no codes no check eng light. wierd.
I know this view is old but your paint job, is that bedliner or some sort and is the car bright white? I have Aspen White and want to change the color with a cleaner looking white. Thanks.
hi I'm a HUGE fan of your channel I actually bought a 05 MDX watching your channel I'm trying to do a budget build for the MDX could you please help me only thing that I see that I can do cheap is magnesium intake manifold + port the intake manifold and cheap eBay intake can you put bigger throttle body ? 76mm Throttle body ? help needed thank you
Do you know if theres any way possible to move the wiring harness thats in the way of the second lower runner? I may have stripped the bolt hole a tiny bit removing the bolt.
It might be 10-15 crank horsepower but you lose some of the power due to drivetrain loss. I did feel a difference though so it made a noticeable increase. I never Dyno tested to be sure
I almost always run it in D5. This was the first run I did in D3 it seems to do pretty good in D3 for me. D5 just shifts up sooner. It’s a toss up for me as to which is faster because both feel good!
Hi, I also have a 2003 mdx. So is this ported runners the main reason why its getting 35mpg? Mine Averages 17mp. If ported runners are the reason why then sign me up haha

18 to 20 in hwy I drive it normal
