I am loving these Cummins trucks. So easy to work on compared to my LMM. I fully deleted my 5th gen on a gravel road and hung 5" exhaust thanks to your other video.
The amount of work that goes into this is almost hysterical, I can change a turbo on my 2nd gen in about 3 hours with hand tools. Great instructional video!! 👍
I’m doing a 2nd Gen compound swap on my truck. Also building the bottom and top end of the engine. I will be filming the whole thing, maybe not exactly a step by step “how to” video but you’ll be able to see most of what’s involved.
Awesome video as always. You are the best on UA-cam at explaining the whole process of anything you do. Love the attention to detail. Even though I don’t have to replace my turbo, I enjoyed watching the video to learn the process in case I ever do. Keep the awesome videos coming 🔥👍🏻
Im telling you, you are getting to be my favorite channel to watch! Thanks so much for the helpful content. On a side note, is there any way i could get to know you somehow? Are you in any events? Id love to chat sometime
That’s so good to hear! I do go to events every now and then. If you follow me on instagram I always post ahead of time letting people know what shows I’ll be at.
Really enjoy watching your videos man I got me a 2020 ram 2500 but live in Northern California so deleting the truck is a huge hassle and a lot of leg work to work around stuff
While I hope I don't have to replace my turbo on my 21' anytime soon, this is great content and I will be using this as my install guide when/if I do! Thanks for posting. Keep it up!
Glad to have found you guys again. What’s tour opinion on reliability of the 2024 fifth gen Cummins? Lifters? Pumps? Dpf systems? I heard everything got bad for the 5th gen’s. Did they fix any issues for be 2024 ?
Yeah unfortunately he had to run to work and I didn’t have time. I wanted to dyno it before vs after but the turbo was so fried it was hardly building boost so it wouldn’t have been an accurate comparison
Delete pipe you mean? There won’t be any power difference. The delete pipe is 4” and the factory tail pipe is 4” so it’s basically the same as a full 4” exhaust just cheaper because you reuse the factory tail pipe
Just a thought. Might be easier to unhook the turbo lines and stuff then just pull the manifold with the turbo attached to it. I’ve done it on a few 4th gen’s and seems to work well.
Honestly this job went really well, I didn’t find a need to add more work by removing the manifold. But if I’m doing a turbo AND manifold job I always do what you say and just remove them as one piece.
It would be tough. Why do you have to change the manifold? You might be able to unbolt the turbo and move it to the side but you’d still have to undo the exhaust and charge pipe at the very least I’m guessing
I broke a stud off doing an egr delete and couldnt get it out. I was able to drill through and use a bolt and nut which works ok but I would rather not leave it that way.
A manual transmission swap would honestly be cool for a fifth gen and I would recommend a vid about that cause there’s no one that makes “step by step” like you. You do a really good job man!!!
Oh man that would be such a big job I don’t think I could do a step by step on it. More of a generic video maybe. But I don’t even know how to do that haha
@@darkirondiesel dang well your right it is a pretty big job and I’m not going to say your wrong but honestly man I would try to push for it if I were you cause man a vid on that would be awesome. But love your vids man and hope you get the chance to make a big video like that soon. keep it up!!!🎉🎉

@@darkirondieselYeah bro, i did the full delete and my wife took pictures of me 😂

If you ever do a 2nd gen swap on 19 plus cummins, please make a video on it because I'm looking at doing that swap in the future

Thank you for this video. Just finished installing a fleece cheetah on my 21. And I must say this video helped a ton.
These are the kinds of videos I come to UA-cam for! Thank you for the help!!
Keep pumping these videos out brother! 100k subs soon!
Thanks bro 👊🏻
Hope to not do this any time soon but I am glad to see its not too bad. Thank you for posting this.
Yeah it’s honestly not that hard of a job if you take the time to pull the air intake, battery tray and coolant reservoir
Super nice work! Now I know why I am keeping my 3rd Gen. 👍
I was thinking of changing my turbo on my 2020 Ram 2500 mega but after seeing this, I’m not rushing into that

Great video Kyle, cool dog too!👊Thank you!
Thank you!
great info!! great video
Great video. Not to bad of a job I'v done 3 & 4 gens.
Thank you, yeah it wasn’t too bad. I found the bolts that mount the turbo to the manifold were easier to access than a 4th gen.
Love the channel!

loving the content, when are you gonna do a 2022 F250?
would be interesting to see it on the dyno with the new turbo

Nice job
Do you do custom tuning yourself? I see you have a dyno I’ve been keeping up with your videos for quite some time figured I’d just ask
Kyle,is a L5P Duramax Turbo exchange in the near future? 🤔
Thanks, Love your shop Helper 🐶
If you want my video “how to fully delete L5P” you’ll see how to pull the turbo because you have to pull the turbo to fully delete it!
Hey can you do a video on the power differents between a 4" exhaust and if you just have the down pipe on for hp
Delete pipe you mean? There won’t be any power difference. The delete pipe is 4” and the factory tail pipe is 4” so it’s basically the same as a full 4” exhaust just cheaper because you reuse the factory tail pipe
If you don't have the delete pipe on or the rest of the pipe back
Have you seen a lot of lifter failures on the 5th gen trucks?

This little orange thing just kinda broke but I’m gonna leave it😂🤣
I just wish I could do this stuff
Haha you can man just start small
Any intention in doing an F150 3.0 powerstroke ?
I need to replace my exhaust manifold on my 2020 ram 3500. In your experiance do you think you can change it without removing the turbo?
It would be tough. Why do you have to change the manifold? You might be able to unbolt the turbo and move it to the side but you’d still have to undo the exhaust and charge pipe at the very least I’m guessing

Ah I see. That sucks man good luck with it
Thank you appreciate that.
Can we have a video on how to pull a turbo on lml Duramax ?
How much different is deleting the truck for the 10-12 6.7 vs 13-18 6.7 I wanna do it on a 2011 6.7
Basically the pre 2013s didn't have an scr system yet
Dale! No power tools!
My God there are a lot of differences between 4th and 5th gen. That battery tray is reason enough to keep my old girl
Has anyone ever told you that you look like bad bunny? 😂
What caused/causes the turbo failure?
If it's throwing a code then usually a stuck actuator
Battery tray, intake box, and coolant reservoir. I do 90% of that job through the wheel well, dont touch the egr or any of that stuff
Video with thoughts and sounds on the new turbo
Buddy was in a hurry to go to work so didn’t do any dyno pulls or anything but I’ll try to get it back!
@@darkirondiesel no worries brother something to look forward to!
My 21 went out at 38k miles
Have you seen any of the lifter and cam failures yet?
Not yet, I think deleting the truck helps to keep the oil cleaner and then regular maintenance is key.
Also run the correct oil
Curiosity. Why drain the oil?

That looks like a nightmare! I will definitely never be working in my truck. Leave it to the pros
The fucking driver door hinge noise...... no amount of lubricant gets rid of it!!! fucking dodge to its core! my 21 never fails lol!
I use a graphite spray on all my door hinges. It dries like a paint coating and no dirt or moisture will stick to it. It works for my 21' 3500.
@@jeffodell5704 thank you so much brother i will def give it a try!
This makes me never want to buy a 5th gen. What a total pain in the ARSE
What you mean bro it’s easy, way easier then a duramax
@@darkirondiesel i’m just saying compared to a 4th gen it looks miserable
