I have a 2006 bmw x5 3.0i my rear tire are rubbing and if you look at it it’s not straight when I reach 80 smoke is seen and it smell like rubber what can it be
The sway bar bushing! Yes! I didn't think about it. Looks ok, but I checked and changed some parts, but yes...they were cracked!!! Thank you! You are an excellent teacher!
If you're experiencing stability issues with your car, especially rattling while driving, try checking your caliper bolts. I found that tightening mine made a huge difference. Sometimes, if a caliper bolt is missing or loose, it can cause the caliper to rattle against the rotor, affecting both performance and safety. Make sure to torque them to the manufacturer's specifications to ensure everything stays secure. It's a simple fix that can make your driving experience much smoother and safer!
Your the man for this video. You can see everything with the front off. To add you was perfect with the camera 🎥. One of my top 5 BMW videos. Keep them coming. 👏
On my 2005 E60 BMW 530i Sport with Active Suspension, my local Bosch Service Center tested and drove the car for 3 hours. Then they used the BMW diagnostic tester to have the car exercise the active suspension, where the car on the ground facing straight ahead sways left then right. He was able to reproduce a much fainter klunking sound repeatedly with this test. So now the mechanic swears the "klunk-klunk" sound in the right front end when I make a left-hand turn is not any of the things you mention! The shop claims its the active sway bar!! He wants to replace it. The active sway bar with built-in bearings is about $2000 US dollars, add in new sway bar bushings, air vent distribution hoses and new bar end links and his parts cost is $2500. The klunking sound is never heard except when turning left (into an intersection for example). I cannot imagine how a free-floating inherently-symmetric device like a sway bar (active or manual) can by itself cause a loud klunk sound in only the right side of the car and only on left turns. I would guess ball joints or badly worn bushings on the right side of the car, since in the US, the right side gets rougher treatment being so close to the edge of the road where pot holes, and road debris normally live. Yet the young Bosch mechanic is firm in his assessment. Any ideas or comments?
Brilliant thanks guys, I'm chasing a problem like that on my 318ci. It's very frustrating, I will end up with struts I think. Control arms, away bar bushes done and noise still there, I do drop links tomorrow. 👍
Great video - very informative. I have a 2015 328i MSport which I am in process of tuning and modifying. THIS Video is a great start. Question: Do I need to replace the control arms if the bushings are bad or can I just buy aftermarket bushings? This may be a loaded question.....Thanks in advance - Ron
on my x3 f25 i hear clunks when i turn while moving slowly such reverse parking, or u turn etc... I had the steering rack thrust piece replaced, but the noise clunk is still there.
Thanks for this great video. I have a 2015 X5 that has developed a crackling sound that appears to be coming for the front driver side. It sounds like dry leaves being slowly ground: crushed. It comes and goes. I’ve heard it while driving straight and at different speeds, accelerating or not. Any idea what that might be?
Hi guys I have X5 e 53 3.0 2005 when I start the engine it vibrates shut it down and start again and works fine do you have an idea what this could be ? Thank you

Hi guys I have X5 e 53 3.0 2005 when I start the engine it vibrates shut it down and start again and works fine do you have an idea what this could be ?
Thank you
What was number 2 reason?
Control arm bushings
Back suspension making knocking noise
Replaced everything, still makes the noise😢
You guys are great but you have to slow it down sometimes. You try to talk too fast
what nationality are you!!!!
Idk why the title says "top 5" just 5 reasons is enough...
Just talking rubish, basicly buy all new suspencion lol.
Most of the time on newer bmw’s it’s the strut end links which is 20-100$ lol
акцент слышу русский, я прав?
