Great review, I would agree on most if not all of your comments about the Professor PhD. I have been using mine for about 3 months now. I have been playing pickle ball now for 5 months (played tennis, table tennis and most racquet based sports) I found the PhD great for my transition game from 3.0 to 3.75 play and ratings. Control, spin and power have been great. I would defiantly advise users who are beginner/intermediate to give it a try. Very good paddle. I'm about to purchase another paddle any advice? I'm leaning towards the Black Diamond and Double Black Diamond paddles from 6zero Pickleball. what do you think?

This is my 2nd paddle to buy. I was looking for more control and spin at a modest price. It feels like it makes the ball more responsive to my control. I would tend to agree with the review.

Nice to hear you've had a chance to try it out! The price makes it a pretty safe paddle to test compared to some more expensive ones, imo

Looks like it's very similar to the Vatic Prism Flash, but without the edge foam. How does the sweet spot compare to the Prism Flash?

I think it's very comparable to the Prism Flash. In terms of sweet spot, I honestly don't recall much of a difference, and maybe there is a slight one, but it would probably be splitting hairs!

what is a good poppy paddle?

I think that depends on what you want when you are are looking for good pop... if you mean really high levels of pop, the Legacy Pro, Onix Premier pro, or a Selkirk 002 are all very poppy. The Engage Pursuit Pro MX is probably one step down from those for pop, and the Neonic Force is one more step down and is about where I find the top to be the best level for me.

I call this the "Pho" paddle since it looks like it spell "pho" from far away.
