My sister got this book for Christmas when we were in middle school. I'd pick which look I wanted her to try on me & she'd do my makeup. She ended up going to cosmetology school after HS. This is the most iconic makeup book-- brings back so many memories!
My mom had this book! She used to be a model and make up artist. I loved thumbing through this book over and over again. Stunning, worth every penny
Omg. Idk about you but when something is familiar in an Asmr video, I get way more tingles. Like teacher videos, or bedtime stories etc. So I’m totally jealous that you get this experience lol. Hope it’s great for you!

I have this book too! My best friend from the US got it for me as a gift when she came to visit me in Spain in 1999.
The sticky fingers on the pages, the page turning, and the sounds when you press down on the open pages… it’s heaven. I will be watching this for years, such an amazing job.
Really reminded me why I loved when my teacher would read books for us as a kid

Omg, this book is one of my absolute favorites. I used to go to Barnes and Noble and look at it and admire all the makeup looks and stars that brought them to life! It’s the coolest thing that you’re making a video with it. I feel like it’s a gift just for me and such a HUGE punch of nostalgia. Wow!!
The thumbnail was an awesome hit of nostalgia for me. I got that book in high school and it sparked my love for all things beauty especially makeup and Kevyn was a pioneer of the art ❤ thank you Maria

i don’t know if anyone remembers the face charts (for example by mac cosmetics) but i used to print these at home, drew on them with make up and wrote all the products i used at the side. i think this would be an amazing video idea for maria! maybe even vor a roleplay! her creativity would clearly show off here and also her soft gestures and words when facing and describing beautiful faces! 🌷(and also the paper sounds we all love!) lots of love to you maria!
My mother shared this book with me when I was little and I adored it. Kevyn Aucoin was ( to me) the first to really do this with A listers and supermodels. Rest in paradise dear Kevyn baby ❤😊thank you for your massive contribution to the power and beauty of makeup.

I kept wondering why everyone was so nostalgic over this seemingly-new book... and then you opened it! Wow... I don't know where I've seen it before, but I've DEFINITELY seen it before. Maybe hair salons? Older cousin's rooms? It's so wild to see things you haven't thought about or seen in years. Great book choice! The tingles were supreme ✨️ (and I'm definitely feeling my Elder Millennial status with this 👩🏻🦳 but at least I got to experience the 90s in person!)
I find this way more relaxing than the color analysis, but I see why people like both! This just happens to be more of my favorite! So soothing and calming with the tracing and soft hand movements 😌

This is so amazing to see because this book is full of wonderful memories for me! My mom used to be a makeup counter salesperson and she had this book when I was a kid in the 90s. I was absolutely mesmerized by every picture, and Kevin's remarkable ability to transform faces. Our copy is falling apart due to years and years of love, flipping back and forth copying these looks ❤ a wonderful, tranquil and relaxing video as always Maria!
I have watched this video every single night since it dropped. Oh. My. Gosh. THE TINGLES 🤤 i absolutely adore the videos when Maria is gently tracing faces and whispering. This one though is the absolute best yet! The thick, crisp sounds of the pages, the crinkles of the spin, the breathy whispers, the sounds of the nails scratching slightly. It is all just SO GOOD!
Grateful to still have the OG ASMRtists in my feed. This is a nice old school feel.

These are my favorite videos that you do!! I watch every one of your videos even after all these years, but these ones always get multiple watches from me! The gentle tracing and touching of the paper is the surest way I get tingles. Thank you for continuing to make them! A lot of ASMRists don't make a good page flipping video anymore 🥲
i love how you trace things without changing the speed, many asmrtists will get bored of the trigger they are doing and start rushing through it and its a huge pet peave haha. you do a lot of "building anticipation" triggers that give your videos a hypnotic effect that i cant seem to find anywhere else. Thank you for all you do !!!

I would pour over its pages for hours, mesmerized by the artistry, and try to recreate the looks. I still own it, and watching you flip through the pages filled me with so much nostalgia for those simple years and my younger self.
