Thank you guys at a1 auto. This video helped me a lot. I didn’t know you had to reprogram anything until now. It worked great with my 2002 Nissan Altima with a manual transmission. But I also followed the advice of another person to make the idle go back to normal. When getting rid of the code then you have to unplug the throttle body and the battery- , wait a minute or so plug it all back then put the ignition on On wait 3 seconds, then pump the gas 5 times in 5 seconds then let go of the gas pedal Wait 7 seconds then hold it down for another 10. The check engine will blink then when it stops blinking and stays on let go of the pedal wait 3 seconds and turn the vehicle on. The cars idle should go back to normal. Like 600 - 800 rpms. Thanks again.

Helpful solution to my situation 2005 ultima 2.5, after numerous tries of the car not taking the reset I did 2 things, first I reset the check engine light to get it off : switch ignition on 3 sec, 5 times press accelerator release in 5 sec, wait 7 sec, hold accelerator down 10 sec. Second I disconnected both the negative battery cable and the throttle body harness then reconnected. Afterwards completed all instructions in this video using stopwatch letting it run continuously through steps, being as on time in the seconds as possible and now mine is fixed! I had the worst luck and almost gave up and took it the shop. Make sure your codes are cleared. Drive around for a little, stop the car, take keys out ignition for a little. Keep your key in the ignition and do everything in a row and use a stop watch. On the 2nd step, turn on and off quickly instead of counting. Did it like 20 times and having a breathalyzer made it even more difficult 😅
For Nissan Tiida 2007: After CEL becomes solid again release the pedal, start the engine within 3secs and let it idle. If it's still high-rev/pulsating idle, with foot on the brake, shift into Drive. Idle will now go down under 1000rpm. Shift to Park again, and the car will find its regular idle speed (near 650-700 rpm). BTW, thanks for the video.

On the idle air....after pressing 5 times the engine light will not blink after 7 or so seconds...anyone had this problem?
I had a P0101 code for my Nissan Altima 2012 and I replace my mass airflow sensor, but the code didn’t go away. So I put the original mass airflow sensor back in and Performed the closed throttlebody relearn and so far for a week my check engine light has been off.. Thank you

There's nothing wrong with my 2006 Sentra throttle body, I did exactly like the guy said in the video, in the order he said, and it worked. Idle came up about 2-300rpm, from 500. The service engine light didn't do everything he said, but the idle still came up. Good deal. Thanks.

Another important point to note: If the engine is idling too fast (like after the throttle body has been cleaned), then the ECU will NOT perform the programming. Therefore, Nissan says (NTB05-067) to unplug fuel injectors to lower idle speed. For example, on a 4 cyl, unplug #2 & #4 injectors. Do not rev up motor because it will set a code with the injectors unplugged, just immediately do the programming shown in this video and shut it off. Then plug the injectors back in and start the motor to confirm if programming was successful.

I was interrupted in the sequence while attempting to program idle air and the throttle will not accelerate the engine. Is it necessary or possible to reset or clear the throttle body to do the reprogram procedure again? I've tried starting from the beginning with no change.

yes this method gonna work for all Nissan Altima to Relearn the throttle body try this method. ( Fully released the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. (20 seconds unit the Engine light stops blinking and turn On not start the engine only turn On). (Fully release the accelerator pedal with 3 seconds after the Engine light OFF). I have a 2006 G35 sedan and so far I changed the catalytic converters,A/T FR/B solenoid,Transmission Temperature sensor, fresh transmission fluid and filter, MAF , APPS, new battery, and new brake pads, plus fresh oil change and filter. My car symptoms are slip & vdc lights are on at the same time as the check engine light, late gear shifts, hesitant to accelerate from complete stop, RPMs are hesitant when pedal is fully depressed (very sluggish rev ups), reduced power, delayed response when stepping on gas pedal. Ive done the idle relearn procedure many times but its not sticking. Im lost , HELP!

I have a car problem. I have a 2006 automatic Nissan Altima 2.5S. There has been an emissions code, but not for misfire. The cars stutters and jerks sometimes when stopped while in drive or reverse. When I put the car in Neutral, the stuttering and jerking stops. This does not happen at any normal driving speeds, just at idle. What can be the issue?

I didn't know that you have to repogrammed the throttle body in a Nissan maxima,I tried to reprogram the Throttle body and the airflow sensor, but it doesn't work.The check engine light is on over 5 years now, and if you remove a certain fuse,it goes off.I got the car reved out but soon as the abs light and slip, the car loose it power.It will drive once it is in drive, but it is not revering out. i am having problems where i just installed the throttle body sensor and reset the battery but yet when i started the car up as the mechanic informed me to do my car is still idling loudly and as i put it in drive it shakes as if its going to cut off and thats how the old sensor did . on top of my car will not drive no higher in speed then 10 miles with my foot all the way down on the peddle .. please help what can i do if you may know i need help. thank u in advance :-(

I have a 2012 Nissan maxima sv So I keep getting a check engine and traction control light and my car slows down to a stop I cut it off and cut it back on a few mins later works fine but check engine light still on take it to nissan said its my throttle body fixed it fine next week does it again they say its the k&n cold air intake on it making the throttle body clog up but I just can't see how shop manger says its the oil in the filter is this possible?
3:48 you turns vehicle 'OFF', then turned back 'ON' and started the car. Was that part of procedure, or accident? I've read other Nissan relearning procedures but they don't mention turning vehicle off.
Whenever I try to do the relearn, then start the car, there's hardly any accelerator. Car goes limp with very little accelerator. Not sure why :/

I cleaned my throttle body because the car was a pain to start even if it would and now the car won't stay running. I tried the first 2 steps but it keeps dying a few seconds after it starts. Any ideas? I've even disconnected the negative battery cable. Didn't help.

Those codes could indicate an issue with power delivery to the assembly. My 07 pathfinder put in a ignition coil Bank 3 but before that I had to replace my alternator and when I replaced my alternator I saw a lot of black residue around my throttle I took a toothbrush and sprayed it with some throttle body cleaner car was idling funny for a while drove down the street it started rocking got back home turned the car off let it sit for like 6 minutes then drove Maybe 30 minutes it seemed like it idled out right then a couple of days later it started misfiring that's when I found out it was the ignition coil Bank 3 I replaced that then Monday the 9th taking my daughter to work dropped her off . Put gas in the then drove off car started acting like it was running out of gas and gas pedal got loose . Car speed was 10 mile or 5 miles an hour was able to park in the mall parking lot. I tried to reset by taken battery connection off for ten minutes. Reconnect then start the car it will run but shaking like it was getting no gas . Then I press the gas pedal it goes to the floor then suv shuts off . Tried a few times same results. Runs like a lawnmower running out of gas. Got the suv towed home got in and car will crank but no ignition and my gas pedal still really loose I got to hook it up to a machine to read the codes I think I have a friend that has one but I'm just wondering before I get it checked out is it my fuel pump that went bad or is it my gas pedal. Oh I also put a bottle of cataclean a few days before the car did what it did. I did that after I replace my ignition coil check engine light went out few days later the initial check engine light cut back on. Took it to O'Reilly's they hooked it up to the sensor it gave catalytic bank 2 codes so the next day I put in a bottle of cataclean . And after I replaced my alternator I put in a bottle of Lucas high mileage fuel treatment do you think the Lucas high mileage fuel treatment and the cataclean did something bad .

i have a 02 nissan sentra 2.5L and tried this a few times, when i would get to the light blinking it would never blink. so after a few tries i went on with the cranking an reving the motor and it seemed to work. an has been doing fine for about a week now.

I have an 02 Altima 5sp manual. We had just done the head gasket and the car started back up, however, the accelerator won't go up past 1500 RPM. Could my throttle body need to be reprogrammed?

In a Nissan Sentra 2004 I had to replaced 02 sensor ( the code P1279 show 1 bank 1 air fuel sensor was greater than the maximum allowabe limit) the RPM were find befor I replaced the 02 sensor. Now I can start up the engine just find when engine is cooled. But when the car engine warmes up the RPM drops and when I need to restart the engine the RPM will drop to 0. I get the same code P1279, I went and changed the PCV vale and still the will start the first time and when I truned it off and restrated the engine it has the power but the RPM drop to 0 I have to push the gas pedal 3 to 4 time to get the RPM up. Please help...

if the idle still run up and down after replace sensor and throttle body and run all steps according procedure of this video, then keep the engine still run , you unpluge the cable of spark plug of #1 and #3....the RPM will go back normal- then, plug back spark plug cable #1 and #3 back. Engine RPM will be OK. Try that.

I've tried this several times. The 2006 Murano has the Start/Stop button & this procedure does NOT work. I cleaned the throttle body & changed spark plugs. The code "Idle Speed Higher Than Expected" comes & goes. Other than that it runs fine but idles at 980/1040 rpm. Any thoughts? Thanks in Advance. BTW the 3 Liter V6 is a PiTA to change the back 3 plugs isn't it?

Preparation
Before performing Idle Air Volume Learning, make sure that all of the following conditions are satisfied. Learning will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are missed for even a moment.
Battery voltage: More than 12.9V (At idle)
Engine coolant temperature: 70 - 100 C (158 - 212 F)
Park/neutral position (PNP) switch: ON (Shifter in Park or Neutral)
Electric load switch: OFF (Air conditioner, headlamp, rear window defogger)
Steering wheel: Neutral (Straight-ahead position)
Vehicle speed: Stopped
Transmission: Warmed-up (Drive vehicle for 10 minutes.)
Procedure
1Perform "2003-2011 Nissan Murano Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning"
2Perform "2003-2011 Nissan Murano Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning"
3Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4Check that all items listed under the topic PREPARATION (previously mentioned) are in good order.
5Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
6Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
7Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds.
aFully depress the accelerator pedal.
8Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the MIL stops blinking and turned ON.
9Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL turned ON.
10Start engine and let it idle.
11Wait 20 seconds.
12Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure that idle speed and ignition timing are within the specifications.
Idle speed = 650 ± 50 rpm (in P or N position)
Will this work for a 2005 Pathfinder 4 liter V6? I am having the same trouble. Tried this to no avail... idles at 1500 rpm. Rev the engine it acts like it's going down hits 1100 then back up to 1500. When you drive it is stays 1100 rpm and will surge up to 1500 when your stopping or putting your foot on the brake.
