Nissan P0507 Idle Control System - Idle Relearn Procedure
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 бер 2016
- This Nissan Murano had a code P0507 after performing other repairs and cleaning out the throttle body. This particular code basically means that the RPM are higher then expected probably from an intake/vacuum leak or something like that. But in this case I was almost sure that it was caused because we cleaned the throttle body. so this is how you do the relearn of the idle control system.

Thank you guys,very helpful..
The srvice engine soon light does not stop flashing at the end of the procedure on our suv
You guys save people money that don't have it. Taking a car to the dealer is very expensive. They charge 100 dollars just to put it on a scanner. Thanks a lot for helping people .
glad to help people
I tried this method on an 07 Altima several times, did not work. I finally hooked up my ThinkDiag in hopes that it would have the ability to do the relearn, and it did. Fixed it perfectly. We appreciate videos like this, thank you.
yes doing it with a scanner is always much faster and secure to do
Which model of ThinkDiag tool please?
If this isn't working for you and you still have a high idle and check engine light, do all 3 procedures with the engine fully cold! It worked on my 06 Nissan Pathfinder. I cleaned my TB and my truck started idling around 1K and check engine light. Tried this procedure about 20 times with engine and transmission fully warm and it did not work. Next day, I thought I would try it with engine fully cold with nothing to lose and BAM, 625 RPM after a few minutes of warming up. Good luck!
Thank you very much, your video really helped me. I'm a single mother and I follow your instructions of what you said and it works. Thank you❤
Glad I could help!
Hi Falcon. I Can not Thank You Enough!!!!!!! I have 2007 nissan sentra 2.0 engine car ran terrible i cleaned the throttle body and the hose to it was cracked i replaced it. After cleaning throttle body ran better but the idle was high and surging while driving . Well thanks to You i Followed your Procedure it worked on the First try i am totally Amazed my car runs PERFECTLY !!!!!! . Again Thank You!!!!....... Frank
I'M GLAD I WAS ABLE TO HELP!!
Went through the instructions, didn't get the flashing indication, but it cleared none the less. Thx for the vid!
Same here for my 2006 Sentra SE. went through the procedure and was going to redo it so I started the car after noticing if din’t flash within 20 seconds, but when I started the vehicle the engine light was off and idle was back to normal
This fixed my hard start issues on my Sentra 2005. Thank you!
Awesome! Glad I could help!
This is great
It’s the Hitachi relearn procedure
Apparently hitachi makes this component for Nissan I think.
procedure starts at 2:04

Thank you
Thanks, it worked great!. I did clean my throttle body and my RPM increased. I thought that was normal till I got that P code. You video helped me work that out.
2005 Nissan Frontier
Im glad I could help!
Como lo limpiaste el throttle body
Worked like a charm thanks man..
YOU DA MANNN! New sub forsure🙌🏾🙌🏾
Worked on my '07 Pathfinder
glad it did!!!
I did it with you perfect the check engine blinked then went solid and I cranked it and the thing I notice is it idles at 1 but if I tap the pedal it kinda jumps a little bit prob half rpm and then settles. Feels unnatural. Did I do it wrong maybe?
Works for my nissan latio/tiida/versa 2006. Thank u.
GREAT!!! Thanks for the Info..... Glad I could be of some Help!!
Worked great on my Nissan350Z! Thanks a lot bro! Worked on the first try too! After I had my CamSensor Bank replaced, my car was idling around 1500 rpm! Now I’m down to a solid 500rpm!
And just a follow up, anyone doing this: after it works and your car is idling in the right zone, leave your car running for about 10 minutes, at least.
Turn on your AC and your rpms will go up again. Let it run for about 10 minutes again.
Glad it helped
@@Kencan72 hey man I cleaned my throttle body recently on 350Z
@@Kencan72 got this code so this will work
@@FalconsGarage does this work on a 2015 Nissan frontier
Perfect video for my issue 💯
Great video. Thanks
Thanks brother I got it
Thanks bro it really worked

Worked perfect for my 05 altima 2.5l
Wait lol I did again and this time the rev settled at 500 and didn’t seem to be jumping anymore....Bro! You are the shizzznit my friend lol thanks so much! Liked subed 👍🏼
Glad I was able to help!
Falcon's Garage how do you know when the tb need to be replaced though?
Thanks I'm gonna try it tomorrow!!!!!!!
Good luck!
I totally botched the process. BUT IT STILL WORKED! 2002 Nissan Sentra. Thank you so much.
will give it a try
07 maxima: I wasn't doing it right at 1st but finally got it. When it started the light went off but came back on. RPM definitely went down & seems stable but what do I do now??
Thanks for the vid! Will this work on a 2012 Nissan Murano?
This one worked for me
Worked!! Thank you so much !!
Sir you are my hero. Works on '07 nissan versa.
LOL, Thanks for watching
I'm definitely going to have to try this out. I just picked up an altima with that code on it
And???
@@alan4sure and what?
@@anthonysalinas6195 did you try it out? Did it work?
I have 2006 Nissan Altima and just bought it used (it is July 2018). I bought it off my nephew's used car lot - they just got it as a trade in. My symptoms are: I usually get steady idle at 1000 rpms in Park or Neutral. Occasionally, I get steady idle at 1500rpms. But abt every 8th engine startup it'll immediately dip once to abt 600rpm and steadily climbs to 2000rpms where it will start a cycle of dropping & surging between 1000 and 2000rpms. It stops the surging & high idle as soon as i put it into gear (drive or reverse). It will not do it on next few cranks. It'll take about 6 or 8 cranks to hit it again.
My MIL is P0507.
The dealership changed an engine mount the day before it started happening. At first my nephew thought the mechanic might've left something unhooked or knocked something loose pulling off the cover to get to the engine.
Is this a potential? What all should i check? Do you have a video that covers every point of failure in this system? Thanks
have you checked for vacuum leaks or your spark plugs?
i dont think there is anything around the motor mounts that could be disconnected to replace them that would cause this issue..specially sense it docent do it all the time, Have you checked if the throttle body is dirty too?
Falcon's Garage i checked an electrical connector that plugs in at the air filter box. I opened the air filter box to be sure that the filter was clean. It's not new, but it's not bad. I have not looked at the throttle body or any of the vacuum hoses.
Do you have a video that explains how to check vacuum hoses, Air valve, IAC, throttle body.... and changing spark plugs on nissan. (Ive changed plugs on 1973 Honda Accord cvcc. But ive never done a tune up on car with fuel injectors. )
I partly disabled am able to do some repairs myself. I was an aircraft electronics technician in USAF. i have an electronic/electrical'mechanical education. I have a little experience on cars (belts hoses, alternator, battery, solenoids, wiper motor, headlight switch & wiring, choke, ... nothing major.
Anything using hand tools I can often do as long as i have instructions (how to with dos and donts). Any help is appreciated.
ua-cam.com/video/O1zDnRKT-5I/v-deo.html
Thank you. I will watch and like. The day after you replied, the CEL went out on its own ... about 3 driving cycles after I had reseating the (MAP ?) connector at the air filter box. Is this a coincidence? Also I have not had the gas cap open to refuel, in case the gas cap was the problem (I tried to get the cap as tight as possible last time I refueled).
For now, whenever I start the car, I immediately put it into gear to avoid idling in park. And whenever I park the car, I immediately shut off the engine to avoid idling in park. I am doing this to avoid any re-encounter with idle surging to keep the CEL from coming back on. I plan to change the gas cap the next time I refuel. I had already bought it from the Nissan dealer (before the 507 CEL incident) because I was dinged on the state inspection for not having the factory specified gas cap. They didnt ding me on the CEL but it might be a problem for the emissions check. I am trying to solve it before I have to take it in for emissions check.
do you have anything on changing a serpentine belt from the engine bay on 2006 Nissan Altima.
You the man seabass
I have a 2003 350z will it work the same?
Thank you
does it work on a push start too?
You are the best
This will work on a nissan frontier 2003 2.4 4 cylinders
Mine poppee up on my gfs car because I took the sensor plug off to check her ail filter and forgot to plug it in when she started her car.. Gotta try this out.
Thank you! Cleaned the throttle body on my Sentra and the idle was going nuts.. Thought I had screwed it up.
Glad I could help!
Car got backed into two days later, may be totaled. Well, at least it ran...
Same here smh but didn't work for my 2013 armada
Thank xx bro that real help
I just did it and it worked it was that throttle body assembly when it takes a shit get another one swap it out with an brand new one not a used one
agreed, Glad I was able to help!
Thanks! my 2015 Rogue just quit yesterday. Turned out Pos cable was loose. When it came back to life after a jump, idle became radical and car was jerking and struggling, like fuel pump. I am starting with the IAC. If I clean throttle body, can I try your procedure next? Also, do you recommend a code app for iPhone or some other not-too-expensive checker? thanks again!
i would buy ab obd
Thanks 😂it work,gracias muchas
would this work on a Nissan versa 2011
I have a 2012 max and my rpms are 1200 push start how do I do this process
Thank you for the video Falcon's Garage. I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. It's pulling this code P0507. The shop where I took it, is telling me that I need to replace the Idle Air Control Valve. But I previously replaced the throttle body with a new one and I don't think it was relearned. I wonder if that's what throwing the code. Any suggestions. Thanks!
Julio Alvarez hey had the same issues as you now atm. Can you tell if what you did to fix your situation
Mine won't take. Stereo off, AC off, no other load. Anything else I may be missing?
you saved my car. light went off after doing this procedure 5 times in a row.
sometimes it takes a couple of times to get just right!
I'm Glad I could help!
Good video
hey man I just saw your video and great explanation but I had a question I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier 4.0 and I ended up cleaning the throttle body and the same code popped up. I do feel like the truck is pushing itself a little bit did your car do the same? and do you know how long it takes for the chemicals to go through the engine because the shop told me that it takes about 50 to 75 miles for it to get it through the system
what chemical? did you not take off the throttle body to clean it? or did you just used some chemical on the intake?
I used throttle body cleaner. i actually had to run the test twice and now its running better than ever! thank you! very good explanation. i just get scared when things are not working on my truck.
Thank's
Awesome thank you.
No worries!
Thank you so so much !!!
Glad it helped!
Had code P0171 (system too lean bank 1) so I decided to clean the MAF sensor and throttle bottle with the appropriate cleaner (I’ve don’t it before). Resulted in added code P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire) and it revs up and down constantly. Filled it with Techron complete fuel system cleaner and filled the tank. The previous codes then disappeared and I now have the constant reving plus code P0507 idle control system RPM higher than expected. Should I replace it?
have you done a smoke test .. to see if there is an intake leak?
Ma Nissan Murano 3.5 V6 2006 AT essence ne démarre plus. C'était dans un embouteillage, le moteur avait coupé et j'ai essayé de démarrer mais en vain. Que dois-je faire ?
How do you do this if you have a key fob? 2015 Nissan altima
Ok I have a 2006 nissan maxima 3.5 its putting out code p0507 I tried your video step by step with you and the check engine light never blinked can there be anything else I need to do?
You can try taking it to the dealer or get somebody with a tech 2 scanner to program it.
Could you upload same video only with push start instead of key?
Dude omg....tried this last night like 40 times with another dudes video, could not fucking get it... Literally 1 try with your video, SUCCESS!!! Thank you my brother, you really really helped me out today!!!
Dang, I literally saw the rpms drop to normal level, within spec. So I test drove it and it SES might came on and now its back to high rpm, not as bad as before, but 1100 rpm in park at idle. What do I do my man??
Have you checked vacuum leaks or if the throttle body is dirty? Also all Nissan are known for the intake hose to crack with time. The one between the MAF and Throttle body.
damn bro it actually worked
Glad I could help!!
Good video, we had to replace a starter on a Nissan Armada and I noticed the next day the idle was out of whack and it even accelerated slowly on its own and shifts gears , could this procedure of changing the starter and putting things back together have anything to do with this issue ? Thank you kindly
unless there was something left loose or unplugged there is really no reason why a starter change should effect the drive of the car
Falcon's Garage he left one of the hose unconnected it was leaking vacuum! Thanks for your input
I have this code on 2015 Nissan Murano. Push start !
hey I have a Nissan sentra 2007 I clean my throttle and a check engine light turn on. now I get a p507 when on idle is on 1800-2000rpm I try reseting it but it wont work
keep trying it, tr it when the engine is cold and then again when its hot, ive seen it work on both instances
great
Is the code supposed to delete by itself?i got the blink indicator and everything i cranked the engine when the liggt turned solid
for the most part it usually deletes it self after driving it for a while.... or you can always clear it your self with an scanner
This one worked for me, 04 altima, after trying multiple versions found on UA-cam and the forums, including those claiming to be "from the factory". This one was found by my beautiful, voluptuous, curvy, sexy wife, so credit goes to her for finding this video.
😂😂😂
I did a tune up and cleaned the throttle butterfly with battery connected and got the code too. I tried doing the relearn on a friends expensive scan tool that said it does it, but p0507 came back. Now if i try this procedure ('service engine soon' already on). should i clear the dtc first then do the relearn or leave dtc stored with light on and do relearn....OR does it not matter. Thanks!
you can clear it before or after it doesn't really matter
Perfect
thanks
glad I could help
How is done with push button start?
Thanks for the video it help me
I have a 02 Infiniti Qx4 it doesn't want to start when the engine is cold without pressing the accelerator some just enough to bring it to 5-600 rpm.. After giving it gas for just few seconds it runs fine at normal rpm. After engine is warm the car will start all day long.. Everytime I search this is what comes up.. Any thoughts.. Is it my TBS?
sounds to me like you have a dirty throttle body
Falcon's Garage thank you.. I'm going to clean that bad boy up and hope for the best.
Great explanation. It worked on my Nissan Sentra 1.8S. Thank you much.
That was my question let's getrdone now thanks !!!!
A lot of people here are talking about when they cleaned their throttle. I thought only when you disconnect the IAC Valve electrical connection, you need to do the reset. Am I getting confused here? So you need to do this even when you clean the throttle head? I am not removing any electrical wires to throw off the computer setting. I had mine sprayed and cleaned when I found a crack in the intake valve hose and removing the hose only. I appreciate your response. Thx
it just depends when your code comes on .. code could come on after cleaning OR after disconnecting
@@FalconsGarage my code is p0507. What code it is.
I have a push start would I still do the on off 3 times before hittin the gas
yes.. just dont turn it on
How can I do this with a push to start?
hi, I have a Nissan versa 2007. I changed the engine and now the engine just rises on idle to 3000 rpm. what could be the cause and how can I fix it?
maybe an hose is leaking or a faulty intake gasket
Just sorted my elgrand that was idling at 1200rpm thanks
Awesome!
After I removed and cleaned my throttle body on my 07 Armada, the check engine light came on and now it won't turn on. Well, it turns on, and dies. I even hit the gas when it turns on and still turns off. Please help.
sounds like you need it reprogrammed
Do your ses light have to be reset first?
it dosent have to be "first" but it does have to be reset.. or it will reset itself after driving it
Will having this code let me pass smog ? And where is your shop located ? Hopefully it’s near me .
depending on your state.. smog should be ok .. but most stated wont pass inspection with the check engine light
Does this procedure work on push ignition Nissan Altima's? I have 2011 with this code currently
yes
This could work on the nissan Pathfinder 2006??
yes
Will it work for 05 Altima
How do you do this on a Nissan that has keyless start
I freaking love UA-cam.
what if i have no codes just bad idling can i still do it?
you can always do the relearn, but you might also check for vacuum leaks or other things that might contribute to a bad idle
I have a 2004 Nissan Altima and I tried this procedure like 10 times and I can't get me engine light to blink. I've done it at the same time as I watched the video also. I cleaned the throttle body. What am I doing wrong?
could be Bad throttle body. or computer
I know is a bit late, but did you find out what the problem was, im having the same problem, my check engine light wont blink during the relearn, I'll appreciate it if you can help me out.
P1122 and P1126, eratic idling, CEL and VDC Off...? Replaced throttle body and relearned virtually everything and cleared codes, still get P1122 and P1126 on startup. Starts up perfect and then the lights come on and the idle goes either low constant or all over the place between 750-1650. Any ideas?
make sure there inst a vacuum leak somewhere as well and I would start checking the wiring system
Falcon's Garage Thinking it's the throttle control relay. If that fails, it throws both codes. When I start it up, I can hear a crackling noise in the area where that relay is located. I'm guessing that if the relay fails, it can't communicate with the throttle body, and thus the codes for both the circuitry and the throttle body itself will display. Does that sound about right or am I way far off?
I should add that it sounds like the relay is spark gapping.
Shannon Wetnight that sound could also be the replay engaging. When ever the engine is off but the cars ignition on you should be able to press the gas pedal and the throttle body should engage check that it does also.
Also see call the dealer and see if there is a computer update on your car.
Sometimes they develop glitches on the computer and an update fixes it.
I have this code from time to time. Does this idle relearn works on a 2010 Nissan GT-R?
To be honest I dont know for a GTR
I had the throttle body cleaned on my '07 Nissan Versa and now the RPM's are jumping from 1-2. Do you know if this procedure will work? I don't want to spend the money on a new throttle body if I don't have to.
yes this procedure might help you!
cHECKED tHE o rING iNSIDE tHE tHROTLE body
I have that code. You think of problem. Is of iAC ??
do the light go off by itself afterwards?
Yes but it doesn't do it all the time, sometimes you might need to reset it with an obd.
I'm not trying to skip out on the process but would clearing the codes work too ?
no
Will it work on a 2000 nissan xterra?
no, the 2000 xterra does not have an electronic throttle body
What should the rpm be when it's running correctly?
600-700
Is changing the alternator on my Nissan Sentra 1.8 make the code come on?
shouldn't
