Dude! In applications like this, a steam machine does wonders with half the effort. After spraying that throttle cleaner on, point that steamer nozzle onto the dirty area and watch gunk dissolve. Re spray throttle again and let dry. Good as new!
Watching this video did help a lot cleaning the throttle body on my 2014 altima . The two hoses attached to the throttle body are coolant hoses. I didn't realize this at the time. I did not use the relearn instructions because it seems like the computer corrected itself.
U would think that someone wants people to take their car to the dealer. What a crazy way to discourage people from working on their car. I have two scan tools that r supposed to do the relearn. And they didn’t work on a 2000 V-6 Altima. I finally gave up. But I am encouraged by your video. Thank u!! I have one I am working on right now. Yikes!!
Not sure if my 2018 Nissan Rogue has those coolant lines yet. If it does can't I leave the coolant lines on and pull the the throttle body out 3 inches and clean it?

Yup, did it. On a cold engine i hit the shizz, nothing. Hit more, still nothing, little more and it bulls forward.. bad behaviour, now fully fixed. Oh and it took some valve shiz with it. You would not believe the crap that went outta exhaust..
For me, the idle ran higher than normal until I managed to get the idle relearn procedure down. I don't think disconnecting the battery overnight will do much for it. Thanks for watching! 👍
Hey thanks for the video. I cleaned throttle body and noticed when at rest, it was not totally closed. Should I replace it? Also after the cleaning, my check engine light did not light up. My airbag light did start flashing though.

I've read the service manual and it says "Battery voltage: More than 12.9V (At idle)".at least for nissan primera p12 anyways a battery have an issue if its charged over 12.6 v which is 100% status
I have a 2017 Nissan Altima Sr and I put a code reader on it the code P2119 came up does that mean I need a new throttle body or can I just clean it? And no my engine light hasn’t come on
Code P2119 looks like a bad throttle control actuator. It could be carbon build up preventing it from opening and closing properly. I'd clean it up first and see if that fixes the issue. If that doesn't work you'll more than likely have to replace the throttle body. Hope this helps good luck! 👍

So I see your comment is over a week old and I hope you didn't butt when I took everything out of the wah and reached my throttle body, I thought it was pretty dang clean. I took it off, flipped it over, and thats where most of my crud was. Mine is a 2013 so that's 11 years of junk collecting on it. I spent quite a while cleaning it but it looks brand new now.

turned out it was the hose that connected the air box to the throttle body, the connection to the throttle body had dry rotted and fallen apart it took me forever to find it cause the engine cover hid it from me!

Recirculates old dirty exhaust. Carbon, etc. Where do you think that all deposits and builds up? In your intake, Throttle body and everywhere between ;) And what shortens an engines life? ;)
HELP! 2012 Altima 2.5, 166K, no power at 4000RPM, car doesn’t go faster than 90MPH. Have aftermarket tranny cooler, changed NS-2 twice within 4 months. Noticed issue after First time I changed the tranny fluid, accidentally overfilled about 2mm above high line, placed it at the correct level, changed to fresh NS-2 for the second time and placed it at correct level, now I have this issue. Mind you, it’s been 100°+ all summer in this Texas heat. Is my transmission done?
Hmmmm, I think something is going on with the engine, check over your spark, fuel and air, make sure they are good. I don't think it's your transmission, sounds like you keep up with the maintenance pretty good. It's hard to diagnose things like this because it could be so many different things. Sometimes, it's worth taking it to a shop and letting them figure out what's going on with it lol. Thanks for watching! 👍

Probably not as the throttle body is down stream from the Mass Air Flow sensor. I'd go the other direction and check your air filter, if it's really dirty or clogged up it could be the root cause and replacing it should fix it. If that isn't the case make sure there are no air leaks in the intake system, check all over for any air that could be entering. Check the electrical wiring and connectors too. If that looks good then clean the MAF sensor with some MAF sensor cleaner. And finally if that doesn't work replace the sensor 😉
Actually Nissan recommends to clean the throttle if you have a check engine on. If this doesn't works, you have to update the ECM software.@@TrickShiftGarage

@@cumshot247 acceleration from a dead stop, when my rpm’s hover 1-2 I feel a shake and then it goes away. If I maintain my speed I won’t feel that again. But only when accelerating from a dead stop and passing 1-2 rpm’s I feel the shake, then goes away
@@TrickShiftGarage actually no it works great but the thing is like I said the gas mileage is worse so for example it says 30 miles to empty and then it goes up to 33 miles to empty then back down to 28 miles to empty like it’s crazy !
I believe it’ll fluctuate based on how you drive. If it says 30 miles left and you’ve got the pedal to the floor then it’ll probably actually be 30 miles. If it says 30 miles and you’re going a steady pace or even downhill the number with go up a little bit since at that very moment you’re using less gas. It just calculates it based on your average mpg

The throttle plate butterfly should always open and close freely. A good cleaner and lubricant is seafoam spray deep creep it has great reviews

That intake elbow looked like mine.... Easy fix !! For a non mechanic like me !!

Eliminate the EGR valve. And your throttle body will stay clean. ;) So will the rest of your engine.

So you can just eliminate the egr valve and it should work ?
@@MRSTACKZ10 YOu can Eliminate it. Or just unplug the wire going to it. It will no longer open at certain rpms . Your entire engine will thank you :)

Help, my car won’t go faster than 40-50 mph hour and if I go above 2 rpm it actually decelerates and lags

@@UnknownPubStomper Could be a number of things... I would try this cleaning along with cleaning your MAF sensor and checking your plugs.
Clean the MAF sensor and throttle body and see if it improves. Sounds like this will fix the issue.
So I did all these steps but now my Gas mileage is worse than it was before. Help

That seems insignificant. At least it’s working without other symptoms.
Prolly because it can actually read it now. It didn't fluctuate before because it couldn't tell. It doesn't mean you're getting worse gas mileage.

What ideation would let you know it needs that done? And do u know anything about a 2010 Nissan altima 2.5 ?
The throttle plate was sticking, which caused it to stumble on take off. Once ot was cleaned, the problem was gone.
