Hi Damo, lovely motor. I have a late 2006 MK2 3.2 V6 Quattro DSG and it makes me smile. Bought it about 6 months ago and been working on it to freshen it up. I've got the standard exhaust and was weighing up whether to go for the Cobra non resonated or the Scorpion. I think your Scorpion sounds awesome and your video is helping me to make my mind up.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm pretty used to the exhaust now and it's pretty quiet in most situations. Its only when rev'd hard when it really lets rip. A definite nice upgrade!
@@damos_cars I had the Scorpion Red Power exhaust fitted last week at Regal Autosport in Southampton (ua-cam.com/users/RegalAutosportSouthampton). They did an absolutely brilliant job of professionally fitting it and using the supplied template for cutting the diffuser/bumper to accommodate the 4 exit pipes. It sounds amazing (as you know) and is probably the best single upgrade for the 8J 3.2 V6 TT that everyone should go for.
i have one with a cobra res cat back (not the droney one), it sounds mad, and turns heads everywhere, but damn this sounds nice around town... but as always, a vr6 is as orgasmic and sensational as it gets i almost regret thinking about selling it just to get something a bit faster... (prob a mk3 tts or an s3 saloon) edit: if you want to make yours as menacing as mine, try to get an rs grille and an s-line/rs front bumper, get rid of all chrome(except the fuel cap) (and change the chrome badging to black)... lower it if you wish, it really improves the handling, and the looks), tint the rear windows and lights as well... it might not be fast, but damn it looks super menacing after blacking out the whole car
The V6 is a lovely thing. Only my old V8 M3 matches it for noise and drama. Yeh, I had thought about just leaving it standard but I think you’re right, it would be fun to tweak it a bit. It definitely needs lowering and I do love the meanness of a blacked out look. Thanks for watching.

Hey buddy great vid! I have the exact car. Do you think it's too loud now that you've had the non Res for a while? Esp the cabin drone? I'm thinking of just deleting the back box on the stock
Thats an awesome sounding car have one myself but cause of the german TUV i cant install non res exhaust and cant do anything to the cats but still great expirience every time i hit the road. Great vid man . P.s Nice rims are those from the 3rd gen?
Rims are non-OEM RS style. Previous owner fitted them, they go quite well I think. Shame about the TUV. Still a lovely car to sit in, own and drive. Nice one, thanks for the comment. Cheers.
I've had the exact same car now for 4 years and love it. Easily the best all rounder/daily I've had out of the 30 or so cars I've owned. Just does everything really well. Beautifully built and so reliable. Very tempted to put an after-market exhaust on too (even though I have a TVR Griffith as well and probably should be content with that, exhaust-wise!). I've always wondered why they didn't make the V6 TT didn't sound as good as say a VW R32. Out of interest, how did you decide that this particular exhaust was the one you wanted? It does sound good. What I really want to avoid is any booming on the motorway. Great vid. Thanks.
Hi, interesting comments. Yeh I would imagine the Griffith will give you all the noise you could need! I actually didn't fit this particular exhaust myself. It was on the car when I bought it, the previous owner having just fitted it. I was after a solid car for around £5k for the pending commute. It was only meant to be a temporary purchase but I spent quite a bit on bringing it up to scratch (see other vids) so I'm loathed to get rid of a it now. I'll keep it for a while I think. I like the fact it does everything I need it to do and didn't cost the earth. It's a solid, fun car for sure. The drone on the motorway isn't too bad, once in 6th with low revs it quietens down. Its really when you're pressing on when it comes alive (like in the vid!). Thanks for watching and commenting. There's another vid on this car coming this weekend. Cheers.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Not sure what would be the best exhaust on the TFSI to be honest, but a further re-map once its done would probably give you further gains. The TFSI's are great for tuning but for raw sound the V6 is lovely. Thanks for watching.
It sounds amazing. I am also based in the UK and looking to buy one but I can't find an MK2 for less than 7k, let alone a 3.2! Did yours have high milage?
Yeh, they do sound good. I’ve done a few more vids on it, take a look. That is a great question. One I don't actaully know the answer too as it was done by the previous owner. The car is in storage currently but next time it's out and I'm under the bonnet I will take a look for you. It might just have a sticker and no actual K&N! That would be disappointing for me wouldn't it!! ha ha. Cheers.
Upgrade! This video is a bit extreme as the mic was inches from the tailpipe. In reality its not quite as obnoxious. It really does make the VR6 sing though. Well worth it I'd say! Do it, go on.... :-D

can you have the DSG lock into a gear - eg could u select 4th at say 20 mph and floor throttle, expecting not to change down (excl any extreme kick down button that may exist - so say 90% throttle) - reason I ask, is that to hear a car slowly climb rev range under throttle load to me is better than the typical DSG 'rally car clone' thrapping through sprint gear changes Thinking of getting a 3.2 TT roadster (I would want to mellow down the exhaust note too) - do they do that same exhaust with a straight through silencer? ...I like mellow :) Double DIN head unit looks good + good functionality - screen quality not great though - is there a better alternative now?

@@damos_cars I agree, the fitted appearance is exceptional :) Re DSG, is there a Sport setting or just auto and manual select (lever and paddles presumably) - what I was referring to is, in Manual /Sport, can it be held in one gear, with a large throttle opening, without the management second guessing you and overriding the Manual gear selection and changing down at low rpm - simple test, Manually select 3rd at say 20 mph - will it let you, and if u apply 90% throttle, will it try and change down still, or obey your instruction? Ah. Makes sense. You can put in sport (it raises rev limiter and changes later). When it sport you can override with paddles but it will switch back to auto on next change. In manual only I'll give it a try to see when it gets clever and tries to change gear. From memory I think it will get up to the limiter.
