Scorpion V6 resonated is the best sounding one by a long way, but quite impressed by the rear box deletes. No idea how loud they are relatively to stock though?
The scorpion res for the v6 is the most popular option when you look on forums amongst owners. Yeah for bang for buck, it’s a nice cheap way to get some sound

Great video, very in depth, I've currently got a Resonated Scorpion on my 225 but im thinking of getting a 3 inch downpipe and sports cat to go with it. Will it start making some pops and crackles without needing a map? Id like a couple pops and crackles but preferably without having them mapped in as I already have a Revo stage 1 id like to keep.
@@TheParrottBros yeh I thought so. I had a decat on my focus st225 and that was making gun shots without a remap haha. The clip of yours sounds nice couple of crackles that's all I'd be after really. Just a little bit more noise as these TT are very quiete and even with a cat back they still sounds too smooth and not very grunty without having the downpipe and sports cat/decat. All I hear from mine is the induction with the pro ram filter
@@spakkawasp4680 Yeah your right the induction does somewhat over power most exhausts haha Im going to be either adding a box or swapping out my exhaust as its too loud for track haha
*Update* After 3 years, I finally changed my exhaust. Bought the gravity performance exhaust centre section ( 2.5" was slightly modified to fit the car, because isn't a direct fit) changing to 3" into a y pipe going to 2 HKS small back boxes with 3.5" tips and sounds like a completely different car. Never eard a TT like this before. Did I cook something 😅?
@@yammy1000 pipewerx is better quality that Malian but that’s reflected in the price. I may have a used pipe werx 3” down pipe and sports cat for sale in a couple weeks
@TheParrottBros thanks for that. I was swaying towards the Pipewerx thinking it would be a better quality & fitment. Unfortunately I need it yesterday as the car is booked for an alignment at the end of the week, otherwise it have taken your offer. 👍
Hey man... I've been going back and forth about getting a full system exhaust for my TT TDI S-Line 2013 for some time. My only thought being that it might not actually sound that great with it being a diesel.... do you have any thoughts or experience on this and if it's worth it? Cheers!
Hey 😊 Diesels with exhausts sound really throaty, with a whistle if they are quite boosting ( mapped) I like them but they don’t have the same burble a petrol turbo has
Great video, I have a 3.2 and have seen a Cybox option (used to be Peco exhausts), question if anyone can help.... The Cybox does away with the horizontal back box in favour of two separate small incline back boxes. Anyone know if this will deepen the v6 sound or make it a bit too raspy? It would be cat back and resonated. The closest match on the video is the DKU engineering but this is on a turbo I think? Cheers fir any help!
Hey Marc, if you do a bit of Googling I believe I saw a video on either google or fb of that. Looks and sounded nice, the only real difference is favouring flow so offers less restriction
@@TheParrottBros I have a 180 mk1 tt roadster. I want something loud but not bad sounding (straight pipe) what do you recommend? I really want pops and bangs too would any exhaust do that or a tune?
I wish I knew we could submit our setups, I could've sent you clips of my fully custom exhaust with cutout flaps and a sidepipe. It's one of the few TT's that is proper both straightpipe and sidepipe.
The biggest power increase is in the 3” down pipe / sports cat/decat as that’s the biggest restriction. After that there probably isn’t much in it. The Jetex not shown in this video according to rtech tuning company actually choke the performance
Mines got a full stainless sports cat back and sounds great and looks shiny just a add looks slightly bigger than stock but I'm.no mechanic sounds good tho
@@TheParrottBros so you think UK exhaust wont directly fit as its right hand side? My car is left hand side and I'm thinking to get scorpio exhaust system with the downpipe
@@HEMOxJEDDAH it probably will fit I meant you might struggle to get one that’s all. Just confirm with them before ordering as left hand drives may differ slightly
A map is about the only way you will get true pops and bangs. Even a decat will give you mild burble etc. The map is the only real way to get it popping and banging
A six pot will always sound better than a 4, and so will benefit more from some exhaust system tweekery. Never heard a bad VR6 but have heard many shockingly bad 4 pots. Loud is not always best, especially with a 1.8t. Cracking video, Dom. More power to you, Sir! :-)
Yeah for sure, the only bad sounding v6 is a quiet one 😂. Thought it was about time there was a decent sound video with labelled up variants to give others a good idea of what’s about 🤙🏻
@@TheParrottBros Sadly, the VR6's only redeeming feature is the sound. Otherwise, it's a nose heavy thirsty bugger, made even more wayward by another 20kgs of DSG dragging the nose wide at every roundabout. I really would only recommend a VR6 if you find one with a manual 'box. DSG was groundbreaking but fragile, which is why it wasn't fitted to the QS. You have been warned, my friend. ;-)
The sound makes you Almost blind to everything else. When I test drove one that was a bad example I still had a grin ear to ear because it sounded lovely and the power delivery felt great. Managed to see sense and not but it though haha I shall look more towards manual when I do start looking again. Warning taken
I wouldn't be surprised if those with custom / back box deletes on the V6 suffer the dreaded 2k drone. Had the valve blocked on mine and ruined the scorpion resonated cat back. Now bung removed it's gorgeous

@@spakkawasp4680 Yeah your right the induction does somewhat over power most exhausts haha
Im going to be either adding a box or swapping out my exhaust as its too loud for track haha
Great vid, love the V6 sound been thinking about getting 1 but that wound mean the misses wanting to drive 1 and thats a nono UK.
Haha I’m the same, I would have to give in and left her but would be worth it! Just gotta try and find a decent v6 😅😅
UK
After watching this video I really need to change the exhaust of mine
Haha I have a feeling your not going to be alone haha. Good luck
*Update*
After 3 years, I finally changed my exhaust.
This is one cool video🤜🏼🤛🏼
Thanks buddy 🤙🏻
Can't wait to hear my 3' custom cat back again but first need an engine swap after I blew a hole in the block on the autobahn....
Minor details 😂. We’re you doing some top speed runs?
Not at that time 😂...
Best exhaust sound is in the intro!
Haha that’s a 1998 B5 S4 Bi turbo
Looking for a downpipe & sports cat. Which woukd be the better one to try & ensure a MOT pass? Malian or Pipewerx?
@@yammy1000 pipewerx is better quality that Malian but that’s reflected in the price. I may have a used pipe werx 3” down pipe and sports cat for sale in a couple weeks
@TheParrottBros thanks for that. I was swaying towards the Pipewerx thinking it would be a better quality & fitment. Unfortunately I need it yesterday as the car is booked for an alignment at the end of the week, otherwise it have taken your offer. 👍
some great sounds UK
Hey man... I've been going back and forth about getting a full system exhaust for my TT TDI S-Line 2013 for some time.
My only thought being that it might not actually sound that great with it being a diesel.... do you have any thoughts or experience on this and if it's worth it? Cheers!
Hey 😊
Diesels with exhausts sound really throaty, with a whistle if they are quite boosting ( mapped)
I like them but they don’t have the same burble a petrol turbo has
Great video, I have a 3.2 and have seen a Cybox option (used to be Peco exhausts), question if anyone can help....
Cool uk TT sounds V6 Scorpion ❤
It’s a hard one to beat isn’t it !!
UK
Some good sounds there but difficult to pick a favourite
Will be hard for anyone to make a pic when looking but each has a unique sound
I still need to choose an exhaust... then map in the pop and crackles!
Yeah plenty of options available isn’t there 😅
@@TheParrottBros I have a 180 mk1 tt roadster.
Feel free to email some pics & videos can always add it to subscribers rides next Time
I wonder if there is any real difference in terms of power output? I guess track specialists all use custom kit?
The biggest power increase is in the 3” down pipe / sports cat/decat as that’s the biggest restriction. After that there probably isn’t much in it. The Jetex not shown in this video according to rtech tuning company actually choke the performance
Mines got a full stainless sports cat back and sounds great and looks shiny just a add looks slightly bigger than stock but I'm.no mechanic sounds good tho
Thats all that matters, its amazing the difference a cat back can make isnt it
@@TheParrottBros I agree are you going to the tt meet next Saturday??
I'm suprise Neuspeed did not make it to your list. Yes, I have the Neuspeed 2 1/2 inch cat back.
The bulk of my video footage came from the uk abs I’ve not come across a neuspeed exhaust for sale in England that’s probably why, what’s it like?
@@TheParrottBros its a little bit similar to Borla but much louder but deep
I wonder - is it possible to buy the Scorpio 225 exhaust if I'm located in the United States?
I'm not sure, believe scorpion is uk based only, your equivalent must be borla
@@TheParrottBros so you think UK exhaust wont directly fit as its right hand side? My car is left hand side and I'm thinking to get scorpio exhaust system with the downpipe
@@HEMOxJEDDAH it probably will fit I meant you might struggle to get one that’s all. Just confirm with them before ordering as left hand drives may differ slightly
I want something a bit loud, and so far I like the milltek non res but I don’t know if it’s the right choice. What you think ?
If you get a 3” downpipe (225) and want it loud I would get the non res. If a v6 the non res is 👌🏻👌🏻
Does anyone know the best way to get pops and bangs for relatively cheap on the 225? Anything will be massively appreciated
A map is about the only way you will get true pops and bangs. Even a decat will give you mild burble etc.
The map is the only real way to get it popping and banging
Iv just fitted my gravity exhaust to my 180
Enjoying it?
UK
Good video again thanks
Thanks buddy and good luck
Has anyone any prices for the power flow system? I know they are custom made but let’s say cat back with no middle box for arguments sake.
It depends where you get it done, usually cat backs can be anything from 4-600£
5V has a place...flow bench figures and chamber swirl is key.
: )
UK
Not sure if my neighbors enjoyed this video as much as I did lol, sounds rather nice through my HK soundsticks :)
I purposely focused on getting the best sound so hopefully it was similarly level matched and crisp enough 👌🏻
Hard to beat a V6 for the sound but there are some great efforts in here
Very nice sounding cars for sure. Looking forwArd to getting some sound clips in the near future my self
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video as always. Dom.

Thanks Ian and good luck 🤙🏻
I wouldn't be surprised if those with custom / back box deletes on the V6 suffer the dreaded 2k drone.
Had the valve blocked on mine and ruined the scorpion resonated cat back. Now bung removed it's gorgeous
Good point buddy, I bet the straight pipe isn’t much better either 😂
I have a gravity with 3” down pipe and decat and I’m impressed with it
For the money it’s almost unrivalled, you certainly get a lot for your money
Which downpipe did you fit? Have you ever had it noise tested?

Definitely need to decat my exhaust for the scorpion sounds real nice lol

I need the pipewerx dp and sports cat😭😭
Yes you do! haha
Some cool exhausts there v6 sounds really nice but the chain maintenance prices to risky for me lol. Nice video dom
That & if it’s a Dsg now they are older it’s 2 big bills that could loom above you. But then every car has its problems haha. The v6 does sound 👌🏻 though doesn’t it
@The Parrott Bro’s yep has to be a manual. Manual I prefer so no dsg worries 👍
Some cool sounding systems uk
Certainly is, makes choosing one even more difficult 😂
I always thought a NA engine is better with no back box but a turbo engine needs back pressure and is better with a backbox and not a straight pipe
I have the miltek non res on the s3 1.8t , sounds the same , its not that loud and there is no drone in the car.
