Love it I hope to see similar at my first Crossroads I will playing along ❤ thank you Gary Clark Jr for picture you were so kind to squat to get in my picture of playing guitar with me. I love music so much I work many hours a day and music like this keeps me sane. Eric's music keeps me sober. I think Derek Doyle and you will be carrying the torch for Eric when he retires (ha ha) you gentlemen keep the blues alive and almost forgot Susan you can play with boys. ❤ Forever Fan
This might sound terrible, but it is so good to see a young black man playing blues guitar. I am worried the blues is turning into music that old whitey men listen too and play.
Listen closely @2:30 , if you know this song as well as I do, you will notice that Clapton sings the verses in the wrong order here! He sings the second verse first, and the first verse second..... The backing vocalists sang 'flag a ride' whilst he sang 'fell down on my knees'! It seems even God makes mistakes sometimes ;)! But seriously this is brilliant, I love that he brought Gary up too!
You know something? I was all prepared to argue with you. I generally love listening to Gary play. He has incredible talent but, he definitely laid low on this jam. I'm gonna say it was because the way the song was being played in a mellow low key manner though.
I love Eric Clapton, love Gary Clark Jr. And Crossroads is a great song. I just don't understand why Clapton always has those cheesy background singers making his classic songs sound like they're on a variety show from the 70's! It ruins it for me. Just sayin :(
Derek ,Gary Clark Jr, Doyle bramhall will be the torch bearets of the blues but not intil.Eric is done. JB is an egomaniac and distespectful or i may have included him but I cant i witnessed his ego at Crossroads 23 and he dissed people he brougjr on stage i had to get that off my chest.
He doesn't. You're comparing a guitarist in his 70s to a guitarist in his prime. When clapton was John's age he was a revolutionary. Creams version of crossroads in 68 has never been surpassed.

Clapton recognizes GCJR's talent, that's why he has him on tour with him.
Wow! So glad to see this=) What a Treat! As cool as it gets, Gary and Clapton!

Too bad Clapton ain't what he used to be. I'd like to hear Gary Clark Jr get a chance to rip this one up to the original Cream style version.
Did they go back into the studio to record this?????....This is forever Stuff.....Please If this is re-recorded....Post DropBox
Still think Cream's version of this is still the best.

garyclarkjr., "Jimi Hendrix meets BB King, but not on this song.

yeah . . I think he was too intimidated to let it rip. Nice of Lennon to lend him his axe though. LOL

Sorry to disagree with you. xx
Gotta love clapton but JohnMayer does it better

Gary Clark waaaay too deferential (to his detriment). Really poor, unimaginative playing. Very disappointing.
Yeah okay boi
lame
Meant to say that Eric Clapton was so boring on this song, I had to end it!
