Exactly
MAMS 2024 Tour
Nice to hear new REAL music again! This guy plays like Jimi and sings great!
I love how he approaches the mic so casually like "I'll sing when I'm fuckin good and ready"
Drummer is gold
Gary's an incredible, fresh and young artist. Just what modern blues needed. He's got his very own style. So if you don't like it then I guess you shouldn't listen to his music. He doesn't have to change, he's good just the way he is. I know he is going to keep improving and evolving as an artist. Keep it up Gary!.
This shit is epic!!! NO ONE out there sounds like this. THAT'S why they compare him to those beyond compare!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊🌺🌺🌺🌺🐞🐞🐞
The spirit of Mr. Hendrix lives on! And that blue Casino...I mean...DAMN...just DAMN!!
This guy is on my bucket list. Got to see him live on stage.
Saw him last night. Let me tell you, this video just does *NOT* do the song justice. It sounds amazing live.
Carl S. if he doesn't play it when I see him in two months I'm rioting
... when he comes to Berlin, Germany ❓️
Is not about the technical skill. This guy is so hot, he is dangerous and I speak as someone who had Steve Ray, Albert King and Joe Bonamassa play his club just for starters. I am a believer in GC Jr. Open your ears and mind Mr. Juggernuts
i never even knew who SRv until after his passing!!! Now i listen to him soooo much!!! How was he in a real concert??
All about feeling..........
Finally a breath of fresh air comes onto the music scene ! Gary Clark Jr. ROCKS !
In an age of formula music this guy is refreshing.
I don't really care what I am reading from everyone else here. This guy and this song is really awesome.
Its like the blues turned purple!
When the Blues morphs into rock n roll in front of your eyes and ears.
my favorite version by far. he was on that night
This guy is amazing! Much "feeling"! He has the spirit of the great music of the 60's and 70's!!! Awesome!!!
Absolutely! Just when I was about to give up on new music!!!
I have to laugh at all the people that come on here knocking musician's, primarily guitar players. Umm, GCJ and all those others that are "terrible" or "need practice" etc... they are playing crossroads festivals and sold out stadiums to 10's of thousands of people while you sit behind your computer screen typing away...Who's the real winner and loser here! I don't mean to get personal with anyone that has commented here, just trying to get a point across to anyone negative, just shut up and listen to the music and appreciate it and enjoy it, if its not your bag then move on, but if you appreciate this form of music then enjoy cause if not for people like Mayer and GCJ (to name a small few) keeping this train going, then we'd all be shafted with nothing better to listen to than Nikki Manaj (don't know how to spell it, don't care!) or Justin Beiber!
finally actual truth- i would love to hear some of the people or experts on blues and professional playing or professional musicians here on this site post their superior music - i say superior because obviously they KNOW what theyre talking about - probably because they KNOW more than this man or other well known artists that play like this and sell out practically every performance - please post YOUR BETTER MUSIC - I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOU CRITICS PLAY-
There are seriously people who don't like GCJ? What?
You're so right. People that say those things just don't get it. The music is so much more than technical skill, its a feeling and a sound. Its a complete experience and it is inspiring. If people want to knock technical skills, let them, because they just don't get it and never will. These are the same people who praise bands such as The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin as Gods. I, too, praise them as such but also recognize that they were far from technically proficient when they played and that is a good thing. Sloppy is good. Sloppy and on the verge of a train wreck is what makes bands great live. Its the danger element. Its living on the edge. Every great musician or band that you can think of rides that fine, train wreck line when they perform. Perfection is boring. This guy, Gary Clark Jr. gets it, plays it, and lives it. He's the real deal. I would love to see his critics sit down in a room and jam with him in private, thinking that they would show him a thing or two, lol. Gary Clark Jr. has forgotten more than his critics on here will ever know. Most of them have never played a bigger venue than their garage or bedroom. If they had ever performed for a real audience, and experienced that energy, had ever had the courage to ride that fine line, take that risk, then they would know how silly they sound. Play on, GCJ, play on! And, to his critics, get a life my friends.
Bronson Dawe Damn! I hate that argument! "Beliebers" use it; "Directioners" use it; even recent Colplay fans use it... Let me tell you something: ticket sales don't mean a thing! I bet even the Backstreet Boys sold a lot of tickets back in their days and yet it doesn't mean they're the greatest band in the world, are they?
If you want to say something good about Gary Clark Jr, or any other artist you like, talk about their talent, their uniqueness, their vibe, their soul, the way they put you in a certain mood, but never ever talk about sales again, please.
This guy doesn't need to show us a profit report to be a great musician, he only has to play the guitar the way he does, and that's what makes him one of the greatest musicians right now.
Please please please don't ever use that poor argument again 'cause you're reducing music and talent to money, and money can't buy you talent. Just take a look at MTV and tell me if any of those profitable "musicians" has the talent that this guy has.
Slipper Likker yea I’m right here
I think he owns an Epiphone Casino in every color they make!
Love Gary Clark Jr!!!! Can't wait for an opportunity to see him live.
Finally a good guitar player in a world of autotune dance and post grunge crap rock.
GARY CLARK. Jr. Is a great blues rock guitarist. I love seeing and listening to him yearly on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It's refreshing to know that real artists still exist.
Jimi and Mitchell reunited in modern times, love these guys music.
Mehmet Can Aksoy Gary can’t touch Jimi and he never will. He’ll tell you that
This man is a god and shows there is still great amounts talent in today's youth, Gary Clark Jr keep it up man!
Some Play the Blues......Some feel the Blues........This guy does both with Passion....

i'm happy to see this young man is picking up this old sound and running with it love it.
Idc what you say. That white boy drummin with that fro rocking back n forth stole the damn show
A magician.
INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! YES!!!!! Finally, MUSIC!!!!!!!!
This fella is amazing,he dives into his music, letting it almost break up at times, but having enough feel to keep it all together and produce beautiful moments.Wonderful
.....ABSOLUTELY......THE BEST...............................................................................................EVER
I never knew feedback was an instrument. It`s wonderful!
Gary Clark Jr is a Master!
I'm seeing some critics here, but don't forget that's he's new in a big public, with 1 record on a major label. as of his guitar playing, it does not have to be difficult, I think he's got a beautiful career ahead of him.
tasty tone out of that guitar
+iRide uWatch That's some good advertising for Epiphone.
These Epi hollow bodies produce a distinct squally feedback sound which I love and I bet GCJ probably knows that himself.
Tasty? This shit is EPIC!!!
Ephiphone makes some good guitars. The older the better.l had a John Lee Hooker model. It was bad ass! I cried when I had to sell it!
@@joelsimms4636 sorry for your loss
Normally I wouldn't like that fuzzy distorted guitar sound because I prefer the cleaner stuff, But man this guy owns it and really grabs your emotion and rips it out of you with those riffs.
Say what you like Gary is true to the heart and a great player one of the best im in the UK but would come and see him anytime
Wow just discovered this guy so glad I did! Awesome!
A breath of fresh air I love this man !
Wow! I never heard him until I heard this performance of this piece today on CD. What a powerful and moving expression of emotion, pain, wish for transcendence... marvelous. Thank you.
Great guitar player. Love the signature guitar as well.
goes to show that epiphone guitars are awesome just like their big brother gibson. oh yeah the music rocks.
I dig him. Lots of feeling and a restrained power in his performances. I usually do not like guitarists that play so over driven but he has a command of the rhythm and dynamics. He knows how to develop the tension and release required. He has done his homework. The real deal. He must be loud as heck here though and yet his vocal comes through relaxed.
🌷🌷🌷🌷yes.... my music like Jimi. 1966.
that drummer chokes up on his sticks more than ive ever seen. crazy style.
This was the first song I ever heard by this amazing young bluesman and I been hooked heart and soul . Yall just listen to all this magic of this young man's soul!!! garyclarkgr is so 🔥 with an amazing backing band.
Totally....feelin'.....this....
I love the blues, i play the blues on my guitar, and i appreciate what GCJ is doing. It isn't traditional straight ahead blues by any means but it's some pretty darn good music. Just enjoy it instead of trying to compare it.
why are people hating on this guitar so he isn't the best singer in the world or the best guitarist so what im positive somebody is gonna copy him soon best believe that the nerve of these people sometimes

So into him! Has all the sound I like. Going to be huge I know it!
Wow, these comments blow me away. It's just good music. He has feeling which I'll take over "technically perfect" playing anyday. Just enjoy.
Just stumbled across this guy. Where have I been. Joy for my ears.

No jodas, ¿Cómo pase la vida sin haber escuchado semejante MONSTRUO MUSICAL!!!?
Increible!!!!
gary you are the MAN.
To everybody who questions whether this is blues or not, I guess we should first ask the real blues cats about it..! If Clapton and Guy consider him the new generation of the blues, It might as well be
The blues has been hijacked by such apathy of emotion, filled with never-ending copycats of the Stevie Ray Vaughan generation of sound, but without any of the soul. Gary represents everything real to me about the soul of blues and blues-rock. It's supposed to be a musical movement of expressing emotion through sound and true feel, not needlessly parroting others who have come before.
Sure, Gary's playing is not up to the technicality of a John Mayer or Joe Bonamassa type. But, who cares? No offense to either of those individuals as people, but for me their music doesn't express with anything close to this level of genuine raw emotion.
When I look at the audience, filled with so many individuals presumably uninterested, all I can think is that these people just don't comprehend. Their minds are unable or unwilling to take off their blinders to open themselves up for something truly unique and real.
Gary is a modern iteration of the blues, not entirely like anything that has come before. Some folks don't like it. Some folks don't feel comfortable with it. But, for me, Gary is a major influence, and one of the few artists in my mind to gain widespread success whom I actually give-a-damn about.
SHOW 'EM HOW IT'S DONE, GARY!
YES ! So obvious this audience just doesn't get it. I'm glad you & so many others do ! When I 1st saw/heard him on UA-cam, at 2010 C.R. playing Bright Lights, he was a wild, flying Horse not to be saddled or tamed. STONE-COLD RAW !
Living in Austin I've been watching Gary since he was a teen play at the Victory Grill. He can play the traditional blues. Now he's moved on doing his own thing! Love it!
It smells pure spirit of rock blues 🎶🎶
going to his concert 7-17 !!!!Cant wait!!!!!!! I never even knew abt SRV till after his passing,Wont make that mistake again!!!!
