Congrats! I've had my VI since last week, but haven't had a chance to shoot outside yet d/t terrible weather but this week should be much nicer.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I haven’t heard yet of an arriving in UK and even the store I ordered mine from has no advance information. Someone on YT thought some buyers may not receive theirs until June! I look forward to your review. I would like to find out if having attached the 50mm equivalent lens, does the camera still allow for cropping in twice?

I noticed that the X100V chassis got warm to the touch after 5-10 minutes of continous use, while the Q2 didn't. Does the VI get warm as well or is it better cooled?

Would really like to see an honest comparison video between this camera and the Q2. I'm currently looking at getting one of them. The Q2 is an itch I've wanted to scratch for 5 years. As for the X100vi, I'm on the pre order list though never got the X100v when I tried that on its release. I found it gave very soft images and the autofocus wasn't great.
What lacked in q2 that you wanted pretty much same type of camera ?😊
Great video. As someone who has a x100v and preordered a x100vi, but also is considering selling both and getting a Q2, what has been your experience so far? I currently use an r5 for pro work but want a great carry around camera. If I sold both Fuji’s I could get a used q2. Or I could just stick with the VI when it arrives and save money/sell the V
I’ll just say I have a Q2 and I love it. I’ve definitely contemplated over the X100V and X100VI but I just can’t get rid of this Q2. The way I’m able to get Leica colors out of Lightroom is so different than all the other cameras I’ve owned.
I would say I would be super happy if it was still made in Japan, not even think of Leica . Now that it’s a 100% Communist Chinese camera, hard pass for any amount. Very depressed the x-pro line is more than likely going to be the same garbage. People can tell me all day the county of manufacture doesn’t matter, well I’m not buying it and never will. That country is the only true threat to the free world and the only country that negatively affected my life many time in the last 20 year. I support it only if no option and have to have it. A camera is a luxury, so not getting another dime from me Fuji.
If you don't care about the video features and also don't mind the slightly bigger size for an everyday/fun camera I would say go for the Q2. I like and enjoy the X100VI for all of its charm, features, good looks and convenience and it feels a lot faster and more modern than the Q2, but I have never loved a camera like I love my Q2.
If however you also want your camera to shoot decent video I'd probably steer you towards the X100VI. The new video features and IBIS were major reasons for me to get it since I shoot a lot of video (often unplanned) for this channel.

I hope this increases the pressure on Ricoh to upgrade their GR line with weather sealing.
Ricoh weather sealed for £1200 would cannibalise Fuji sales like mad!
@@rupertmarlow4668 I think those are totally for different people. Fujifilm is more for the wannabe Leica user. The GR is for the picture shooter.
Where did you get that rectangular lens hood?
I love my VI. Have you noticed a gap on the lens hood where it should be flush against the lens?
Yes, there is a tiny gap. Doesn't really bother me though and it should be fine in regards to the weather sealing.
This King is not as sharp as Ricoh GR3x according to Samuel Streetlife blogger. Should I be worried?

I think this camera scratches the itch of people wanting a Leica Q3 or M11 experience, but unable to bankroll such a large purchase. Of course, $1,600 isn’t cheap either.

Hot take, but I’ve owned the q3 and m11 and actually prefer the x100VI over the Q3. The m11 is a different kind of thing altogether….just my 2 cents
I have a Q2 and ordered one anyway. Ordered Feb 20th. Nothing in the mail yet.
I agree but in a weird way I think the X100 VI is probably 90% as fun but also more convenient than either of those two. Me personally I would love to buy an M11 but I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a camera right now and since I make these youtube videos I really like the video capabilites of the X100VI (which the M11 obviously doesn't have). Weirdly enough though I am not really interested in the Q3 even though I love my Q2. No doubt the Q3 would smoke the X100 VI (and the Q2) in most aspects though.
Fingers crossed for you that Fuji will start shipping out those preorders soon.

The x100v wasn't exactly easy to get on release either. In Australia, I had to wait 6 weeks for a no-hype, pre-ordered on release, black x100v but only 3 weeks for the x100vi as the most hyped camera in the universe.
I guess I got lucky back then. I actually had placed an order for the black X100V first but it was sold out immediately so I went for a silver one instead which shipped within a week or so. But yeah, Fujis not exactly known for being able to deliver their cameras.
Obviously this video was not made using the Fujifilm X100VI. The camera still lags behind in auto focus. IBIS is so overhyped as no other camera line complains about image stabilizing because it’s not an issue for them.

Where does everyone that shoots Leica post there media? Most 99% of the media video and stills I come across on a everyday basis is created on Sony, Fuji, and Canon. Thats using the most popular mediums of Instagram, Twitter and UA-cam. Is there a hidden media consumtion ecosystem thats Leica?
I suppose there simply aren't anywhere near as many Leica owners as all of the other manufacturers you mentioned combined. I would be suprised if Leicas overall market share was much bigger than 1% in terms of units sold per year.
For me, almost every photo I have posted to instagram over the past two years was shot using my Q2. I do however not (or rarely) use my Q2 for video because its simply not good for shooting video. So i film with my Sony and Fuji cameras to make videos about using the Q2 for photography.
They are all available... as nobody wants it... #madeinchina

Doesn’t matter where they’re made-Japanese brands are known for their high level of QC. Same with Apple and their China-assembled iPhones. If you’re talking about a Chinese brand, that’s another story.

I managed to buy two. Not a reviewer and not famous, simply lucky as fuck. One was pre ordered on launch day and the other was randomly in stores. Got en Email saying the store has two in stock. One sold immediately and I got the second camera :)
Thats how I felt until a few days ago. It was a lucky find in a camera store in Italy. Still haven't heard anything from my preorder (ordered on Feb 20th). For whatever reason I have by now heard of a few people who got one on italy. Good luck to you and fingers crossed that Fuji will start shipping out those preorders soon!
I was completely depressed when this came out and seen it was made in Communist China. I thought I had a brand that was reputable but less money than Leica. I know only the x100 and x-pro line was made in China, but thought that would stay that way. I know now the x-pro4 will have same crap country of origin and crap 40mp sensor and unneeded ibis complicating the system. I guess I will be having to dig deep and going with Leica when the x-pro2 or 3 is no longer able to keep running. Very sad day for me, the beginning of the end of my beloved Fuji gear. Greed always prevails, honor is a joke.

Yeah greed is bad. Unfortunately that’s what capitalism is all about. Oh dear! You don’t like communists either! Oh my! I guess just make your own camera then! Just start with your reading glasses and try finding a sensor Made before the Great War that is. You know: World War I. Glue them together and there you go. By the way, Leica is German Made in China.
