Lots of people rightly pointing out the XH1! Also a good pickup and likely the cheapest IBIS camera you can get! If you don’t need IBIS I think the XT3 with newer sensor, some more physical controls etc could be the better choice!

When Fujifilm drops all the new stuff during this year, people will come to this video and find great value :) I for my part am waiting for the X100VI. Definatly will pre order it. And I'm very curios what kind of specs the XPro 4 will have. Looking forward for your Fujifilm coverage on the 20th Feb :)

Great compilation. 👌 It still amazes me how much even the ancient Fuji cameras have increased in price. I was able to sell my well-used X-E3 for a good price myself.
For this price it is worth. Light, good autofocus (better as Fuji 27) and small. I can wear my camera over neck under my jacket and it doesn’t be uncomfortable.
Nice job covering the range of possibilities. To add emphasis to one of your final points, agree that shoppers should put as much consideration on the lenses to get as the bodies. @@TheVFXbyArt I would definitely agree. I have the X-S20 for video and the X-T5 for photography. I did not buy it for the 40 megapixels. I bought it for the IBIS, battery life and auto focus improvements. It does not appear slower to me than my previous X-T3.

Hi Goughie Great Video as usual. There's so much to say about choice when it comes to buying into the Fuji X system, but you've managed to capture the salient issues very well! In particular you've highlighted two aspects relating to the current Fuji market - (1) the cost of used cameras/lenses which have increased beyond all reason, unless perhaps you accept that (2), below, also applies. 2) stagnation, if not regression has occurred with the latest iteration of Fuji cameras/lenses. I accept that for the most part X-Pro3, X-T5 (X-T4), X-H2 (X-H2s), X-4, X-S20 X100V, are superior to their predecessor's but are they worth a king's ransom on a cost/benefit basis to replace. I love my X-Pro2, XF18/F2 & XF35/F1.4 (still preferred over the XF35/F2) as my go to walkabout/travel kit. Don't get me wrong, as you say, everyone has their particular needs & budgetary requirements. As an aside, I do have an X-H2 (autofocus is significantly better than my previous H1), and the latest XF23 F1.4 (has weather sealing, but not significantly better otherwise), which I use together with my XF50-140 F/2.8, when on "dog show" shoots. But I don't love this equipment ...it doesn't get me out to take photos. As they say ...horses for courses! Your advice is spot on. John G. PS. As you've no doubt gathered, I'm not a hybrid shooter, so the latest "iterations", do probably offer a significant improvement for video purposes.
I just bought a second hand fujifilm x-t20, with an 18-55mm lens, and its the best camera ive ever owned. I wouldn't change it for anything. I like the fact it has a built-in flash, its fully customisable, and has a d-pad over the x-t30, etc. I also like that it has advanced filters, and an auto switch, with scene modes.
At this point I would go for the xh1. A tank, ibis, nice grip and underrated and overlooked! This camera doesnt have insane hype and the used prices are low. Weather resistance, ibis, dual sd Card slots and good grip. Best choice IMO
Bear in mind that in 2024, Fuji is coming out with a min. of three new cameras...this is great if you want one of the new cameras and also will help the price of certain cameras as they fall from being on top of the heap...as in the 100v.
I have been looking for an x-E3 for a while and then realised that the x-T20 offers similar specs at a lower price point. I found an x-T20 with the “kit lens” for €600 (i.e. a little over £500). Although I like the look of the x-E3 better, I’m happy with my choice. I also added a new TTArtisan 27mm with autofocus for around €150… I love it!
Great video. X-S20 with 35mm f/2 for me and the X-M1 with the XC 35mm f/2 as my everyday 'don't mind if it gets knocked...' camera. Also got the Sigma 10-18mm and Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 as my portrait lens. And of course the 7Artisans 18mm thrown in any gap in any bag or pocket!
I only bought one new Fujifilm camera (my X-T20), the others were secondhand, and I'm glad that I purchased them before Fuji prices went bonkers. I picked up my X-Pro1 in 2018 for 300€ and change. I'd love to buy an X-Pro2 but they are few and far between on the secondhand market here in the EU, and if you do find one, it's around 1000€. Pretty wild for a camera that is now older than my X-Pro1 was when I picked it up. PS: Kudos for coming to my country and visiting my lovely home town of Ghent, instead of only going to Bruges, like the majority of visitors.
x-t1 and x-t10 are both good options as well. At least in Germany you can easily get them below 300. Pair that with a few manual primes from ttartisan etc. or a used autofocus lens and you have your 500 Euro setup. Thats what i did and i love the look of the pictures. Not perfect, but thats what people want, when they buy a fuji right? :D
Great information I agree the xt3 is a great all round budget body, but for me best value for money with ibis and great 4k video would have been the xh1. I cannot understand why you have not mentioned it?
Informative as always, i think the XE3 is a good shout, as is the XT3 and somebody else mentioned the XH1. Definitely the X100V and Xpro 3 are the most overpriced fuji cameras out there at the moment. Interestingly i saw on an marketplace site today a used XPro 3 in very good condition for €1200 which did not receive a singe bid!
X-E3, love IT! Managed to acquire one for 400euro with halfcase and the mini flash. This combined with the TTArtisan 27 f2.8 AF is a great budget combo
Nice video. Unless I missed it, no love for the X-H1 ?? I picked one up with grip from a retailer in Australia with a 1 year warranty for AUD 1100, £600. Surely has to be considered. Fair enough that you have focused on the X-Ts and Pros.
With the used Xt 3 still at 900$ and up..... it's actually going UP in price in the last three years in the used market. I've never seen them at the price point that you mentioned at all at least in the United States.
3:46 Always pay a little more for an xt3 over an xt2. Near same megapixels, but a way faster camera, and the lowest tier of camera with a modern enough firmware to support electronically the manual lenses made by voigtlander. Also a great refinement of the xt2: 1. Pull out tab for the diopter adjustment 2. Better viewfinder 3. Better touchscreen 4. Better AF 5. Better interface 6. Refined dials on body 7. 3x the cut processing power so no delays on anything. Worth the several hundred premium over the xt2. The only difference is that the silver xt2 is a true “graphite” version with a special paint job, not just a plain silver like the xt3 and later xt’s. 7:59 Same goes with the xpro2 Vs the xpro 3. Sell a kidney and get the better camera! 😂
I have both the XT2 and the XT3, I bought the XT3 with the intention of selling the XT2 but now I can't bare to part with it! Also I kind of love the fact the XT2 was the last XT to be made in Japan.
Got a nearly new X-T1 ( 400 shots only ) in mint condition with 18f2 and 35f1.4 for 800 € . The x-trans II with classic chrome is unbelievable good. I wanted this sensor back since i sold my xe2s 5 years ago. Initially i wanted an x100 in addition to my X-T 5, but the prices are ridiculous.
I’ve been looking at the Xpro. Used Xpro2 are up to like $1100 and Xpro3 are up to $2k! Are they even worth it at this price point? (Those are prices from MPB). I’m wanting to go full manual with a Fuji and some manual focus primes but these body prices are crazy.
For some circumstances I lost my Fujifilm X100S (but recovered my health!) and now I am slowly saving for a new camera. I was thinking in a compact Canon G1 X mark III, as it would be in theory a Fujifilm X100 with the wide and teleconverter. But the more I see photos with it, the more it looks closer to a small sensored camera than to the rendering of a aps-c camera. I am thinking rather a X-E camera, and a 14mm and a 56mm. Meanwhile I will endure the slow pain to use my 4 megapixels Sigma DP2 which funny enough has a nicer bokeh than the Canon I was thinking about.
I am planning to buy an X-T5 with some lenses. Do you have any experiences with using a teleconverter (1.4x or 2x or both) on the XF 70-300mm to be more flexible in wildlife photography? Will the image quality still be good and is there a difference between these two teleconverters in terms of image quality?
I haven’t used them! I doubt image quality suffers much because of the converter, but remember how much slower it makes the lenses, unless you’re shooting in bright conditions you’ll have to start to creep up the iso, and because of the length you’ll have to keep the shutter speed high too
X-pro 2 is where its at for me, the only thing I wish it had was a tilting screen and IBIS. The x-pro 3 is double the price and still has a janky screen.
I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE MY XPRO 1 AND 2!!! IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE 2, GET THE 1 VERSION!! IT'S A LITTLE SLOWER... BUT STILL CREATES GREAT IMAGES THAT HAVE SOUL! 💯💯💯
XE1 + 18mmf2 less than 400pounds used. A poormans Leica Q3 with great rendering, more filmlike prints compared to the newest Fujifilm cameras. I prefer the files to my XT4
I gotta disagree with the comment about the X-T2. Is the autofocus on the X-T3 better? Yes ! it has phase detect points all across the frame instead of only in the center portion, so tracking is more practical, also the face/eye detection are much improved compared to the X-T2... but those two things are only really a limitation if you want a camera to work right away without doing a lot of work when it comes to learn the camera. I've used an X-T2 for several years now, and it really is (by far imho!) the best value out of any fujifilm body available. The AF-C is extremely reliable and quick if you do the tracking yourself with either a single point or zone focusing. I had no isses shooting sports and wildlife with it. It's probably not as good as the X-T3, but it's 90% of the way there for maybe 60% of the price. Image quality wise it's pretty much identical, and even if teh X-T3 is a video beast, the X-T2 is not to be dismissed, having access to F-Log video with surprisingly good quality pre-amps for sound capture. I rencently bought a Nikon Z6 and I still see myself going for the X-T2 instead of the Z6 for video just for those two things, even for pro video work. Also, for a tiny bit more money, the X-H1 is basically the same thing in a larger body with IBIS. The X-T3 is a really safe recommendation, but if you're knowledgeable about your camera, or are willing to put down the work to learn the AF system, I think there the upcost of an X-T3 is very much too high compared to how capable the X-T2 is already.
I find it funny that you stress the big step up between the XT2 and XT3 and push the later model, but then talk down the X-Pro3 and don’t mention any of its advantages over your favourite X-Pro2 (aside from the love it or hate it screen). In reality X-Pro2 to 3 is exactly the same as XT2 to 3 in terms of performance and the much better AF, and the XP3 even includes other improvements that didn’t make it to the XT3 (classic neg, saving AWB changes to custom settings etc). I get it, the X-Pro3 is marmite, but it’s still got some big advantages over the previous gen.
I think you’ve missed my point, The difference here between and xt2 and xt3 is about £200. For £200 it’s more than worth it. You can also argue absolutely everything is better for your £200. The difference here between and xpro2 and xpro3 is about £800. Now that’s a lot of money; that’s just about any Fuji lens you want. Also the XPro2 does have merit compared to the xpro3. It has a “normal” screen, and it also has in some ways a better optical viewfinder especially if you like wider lenses
I disagree about the “cmos” sensor (bayer is the word you’re looking for I think) not giving the “Fuji look”. The Fuji look comes from the film sims, which the X-T100 has.
Gotta be honest... I would not recommend a Fuji to anyone who doesn't already know the exact camera model they want. You can get a Nikon Z6 with a 40mm for so little money these days and get so much more out of it than any older Fuji can deliver .... It just doesn't make sense.
my advice: don't buy anything from fuji now. fujifilm cameras are just like graphic cards were not so long ago, i see 10 year old fujis sold at higher prices than they were brand new. So for now just wait, and if you can't wait, just buy an olympus or lumix, trust me, you can make film simulations on those cameras too if that's what you're after.
Lots of people rightly pointing out the XH1! Also a good pickup and likely the cheapest IBIS camera you can get! If you don’t need IBIS I think the XT3 with newer sensor, some more physical controls etc could be the better choice!

I haven’t used them! I doubt image quality suffers much because of the converter, but remember how much slower it makes the lenses, unless you’re shooting in bright conditions you’ll have to start to creep up the iso, and because of the length you’ll have to keep the shutter speed high too
got a X-T2 for £339 very happy with it :)
Marketplace bargains are definitely there if you stay on top of it!
For sure!! They appear pretty frequently too! You just need to check frequently and be willing to travel a little!
X-pro 2 is where its at for me, the only thing I wish it had was a tilting screen and IBIS. The x-pro 3 is double the price and still has a janky screen.
I love mine!
X-pro2 ❤
💪🏻💪🏻
no xs20?
I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE MY XPRO 1 AND 2!!! IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE 2, GET THE 1 VERSION!! IT'S A LITTLE SLOWER... BUT STILL CREATES GREAT IMAGES THAT HAVE SOUL! 💯💯💯
Fuji is the most confusing lineup of any manufacturer I still have no idea what would suit me...
Same, lol
BTW good video

What’s that in miles? 😂
XE1 + 18mmf2 less than 400pounds used. A poormans Leica Q3 with great rendering, more filmlike prints compared to the newest Fujifilm cameras. I prefer the files to my XT4
what website is he looking at?
@@zidrexandag06 who? eBay
X100VI.....👀
We will see! Rumours point to a late Feb announcement
Why xe1 when you could get the xe2 for nearly the same price
Well if they are the same price of course…
Wonder if it is still worth picking up the xt5 or xh2 or i should just wait for xt6 and xh3
None of the new ones unless the AF is fixed.
I think you’ve missed my point,
The difference here between and xt2 and xt3 is about £200.
X100f within £ 500,00? ...😅
You're having a hard time finding a used one for less than € 1.000,00 in Austria.
I disagree about the “cmos” sensor (bayer is the word you’re looking for I think) not giving the “Fuji look”. The Fuji look comes from the film sims, which the X-T100 has.
I should have put Bayer on the screen…. 😉
Gotta be honest... I would not recommend a Fuji to anyone who doesn't already know the exact camera model they want. You can get a Nikon Z6 with a 40mm for so little money these days and get so much more out of it than any older Fuji can deliver .... It just doesn't make sense.
No film sims
No dr400 highlight retention
Definitely an interesting camera! Fuji still has many merits
Everyone on UA-cam is British or Canadian.
my advice: don't buy anything from fuji now. fujifilm cameras are just like graphic cards were not so long ago, i see 10 year old fujis sold at higher prices than they were brand new. So for now just wait, and if you can't wait, just buy an olympus or lumix, trust me, you can make film simulations on those cameras too if that's what you're after.
Stop it with this fujifilm BS
And what would you suggest…
