- The Fujifilm X100VI doesn't look a lot different from the X100V, which took the internet by storm 3 years after it released. But.. why did that happen? And will it happen again? David takes a look.

I love the molding clay analogy for raw vs jpg
Boss here😉
yupp.. Durvid brings out his best when it comes to cameras. well done studio!
You're truly the analogy man
Your last two chapters in this video are not correctly visible.
Thanks dad
I love seeing David so passionate about his cameras.
Honestly, watching David ramble on about cameras is the only reason I'm still subbed to this channel lol
Saaaame haha
David should do more features like this. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot
yes, but what is IP? 4:42

The editing/motion graphics of this video is insane
I greatly appreciate that you didn't make this a run of the mill X100VI review. I learned a lot of useful information. Thanks a lot!
David is one of my fav person at the studio. Chill, learning, smart and funny guy
Definitely love having a proper photographer on the team for these reviews! I have been waiting for this camera!
Came for a review of the X100VI, stayed for the Kodak vs Fuji history channel and the tutorial on how colors work on our retinas in super stylized motion graphics.
That's a LOT of work for just one video, man ! Awesome job ! That's an instant sub, right there !
i love how the studio channel is changing into the team reviewing the gadgets that they are passionate about with main channel production quality! Lovely animations in this one!
Thanks for the nod 🤝🤝 great review as always. Your camera reviews are among my favorites
Lowkey David is the best reviewer on UA-cam. I absolutely love you talking cameras brother.
Killed it David! One of your best camera videos yet!
the way this under 13 minute video explains SO MANY photography concepts i learned about but never fully grasped is incredible! david's got a really knack for explaining things :D
These camera impressions/review videos David's doing for this channel are so insanely good. I have never really even thought of getting into photography as a hobby but every time I watch one of these videos it makes me want to go buy a camera and just start shooting.
David you are SOOOO talented in explaining topics u are so clearly passionate about I absolutely love these
Also note:
The x100VI can output 16bit tiffs as RAW conversion files. That’s big for me as I use the fuji x RAW software to output their film sims faithfully, usually with any exposure and WB adjustments or corrections. Then I use LR to mask and create grads. Now I can do that on converted Tiffs instead of jpgs!
That is so sick! I've always wanted to do that with my Pro2
is the x100vi the first to do that in the fuji line?
@@JacobChristiansen1 xt4 was the first. Xt3 was not updated to do the same despite same sensor and processor.
Wow! This is easily one of the most informational and well put together camera reviews I've ever watched and I've watched 100s of them over years. The simplicity of the explanations and the graphics integrated in the video. Insanely impressive! Loved it:)
Dropped right after the pre orders. Love that David is the camera guy, amazing video!
David’s videos are always ridiculously well done 🔥
Hands down one of the best, down to earth, video about a new camera I've seen. And I've seen A LOT !
I absolutely love the resources you guys put into this video, from the photography of the first frame with David to the animations to explain color science. Go Studio gooo
You have a gift for explaining things in the most incredibly easy to follow way. The editing and graphics in this video are of course helpful too, and so well executed. Well done.
This is one of the best camera review I have ever seen, if not the best. So informative and thoughtful, need to see more camera reviews/photography discussions from David.
This is exactly why I got an XT5. I saw the hype with the x100v so got a retail price XT5 when they came out. I love taking photos but I cannot be bothered with post processing. I've not got time for that. I took a recent trip to canada and I was staggered by every single photo I took, every single one looked amazing. Most of the time people are just uploading them to instagram (myself included) so being able to just immediately upload a jpeg without fuss is a great bonus.
Easily the most informative camera review and general digital photography video I've ever seen. Love this.
Wow this is one of the best UA-cam videos I've seen in a while. Marques needs to give David and anyone else who worked on this some love and a raise!
I felt like I knew a lot about photography and my cameras, but this video was so informative and enjoyable to watch! Thanks David! ❤📸
Wow David, this has to be one of the most impressive camera reviews I've come across online. The level of technical detail and the presentation are truly exceptional. You should consider reviewing the same products as Marques but in this format.
who the freak did the motion graphics in this vid. unreal
What an excellent blend of technical detail and comprehensible, succinct explanations. Great video, thank you!
I've watched a ton of X100VI videos over the past few days, but this is one of the best. Most other videos concentrate on just the specs, or the differences from the X100V, but you actually going into the details of why someone might want a Fujifilm camera, and then more specifically this one, I found more meaningful and impactful. I'm already sold, I already pre-ordered one from B&H on release night - but if I hadn't, you'd have sold me!
This video was truly amazing. I love the detailed explanation about it and it shows how passionate you guys are about tech and cameras
I love everything about this video- the aesthetics, the animations, the explanations and the enthusiasm.
always love these camera videos! david always goes into the interesting details
The way you simplified and shared all that information is next to none. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I never thought I’d love cameras/photography this much, Thanks David!
Wow, this is one of the best most interesting camera review/overview videos I’ve seen in a bit! Learned so much. Subbed!
Great video about photography, image files, and the hype! Love to see David's passion in the video.
Came for a camera review, ended up learning so much more! Explanation and storytelling is on point 💯
Stellar job as always David! keep them coming!
This was a great video! So informative without being condescending! Thank you so much! Looking forward to watching your other content!!!!
Excellent breakdown of various nuances that may otherwise get lost among the heif 😬 Great video and also I'm thoroughly enjoying hanging out this week in Tokyo as well 🙌
Thank you so much for the terrific in depth information - not just an overview. I learned a bunch and plan to re-watch to pick up the bits that went past this old brain of mine! Great in depth discussion of some of the camera features and a bit of Fujifilm history to boot. Great job. I've subscribed and look forward to more great information.
For as complicated as this kind of stuff gets, this video did a great job of explaining the topics! Although for me the pocket king goes to the Ricoh GR xiii. Love the small form factor
What a great video! Just got my X100VI today, so excited!😊
A really nicely-produced video! Great visuals to match David's clear explanation.
Love these really indepth videos. And your photographs are amazing as well. Keep em coming!
The way you explain complex concepts in simple analogies and terms is always impressive! Always enjoy your camera videos.
Love the format - I thought I was about to watch "one more launch review" with specs and Fujifilm marketing pitch, but it was a pleasure to watch , very very instructive and well explained , efficient, great pictures and overall, a very experienced and wise opinion. Thanks a lot and congrats !! 🙂
what a great video, haven’t seen other channels explain in such detail differences in things like file formats and banding etc. well done
Wow. Just brilliant review. I learnt a lot than I was expecting to. Thank you David
I learn so much from these videos. Great production quality. Thanks team!
Whenever David gets a dedicated video, I end up learning about a totally new topic. Love the way you passionately explain things brother.
Of all the camera videos I've watched, this is my favorite. Excellent presentation ❤
Event though you don't do a full on spec review, i really enjoy watching your videos. We can see your passion for cameras as well as your knowledge for them. You explain things in an eloquent yet simple way and I really enjoy that. Thanks for the awesome review!
I appreciate that this is also doubles as a Fujifilm 101 video. I could’ve never contextualized Fuji’s film history so succinctly. It’s hard to explain the “why” with these cameras, but you make it look easy. 👏
This channel is my new favorite channel… kuddos dude!!
Loved the explanation. Knew what raw was for all this time but never fully understood it. Keep these videos coming.
Classic David video, these are always my favorite kind of video from the studio!
David's videos on camera and image concepts are ones I enjoy the most from this channel, huge kudos.
And yes, I one of the many who tried to buy an X100V the past year and couldn't find it online 🙃
This content is so good. From a creative perspective alone, it’s legit. Great job on keeping a geeky subject SUPER watchable.
loved this video. always great to see David behind the camera
This channel is quickly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel. The clay analogy is awesome, David’s passion for the camera is contagious, and the animation and style is greatl. I don’t care about this camera, and yet I watched till the end.
First time watcher here, i love the animations and the informations you gave. Subscribed!
Fantastic video! You and your team obviously put a lot of energy into making this video and it shows. Wow. I also like your enthusiasm and how you explain things in an understandable and good way. Keep up the good work 😊
Loved this video so much 😱 I had to pre-order it ❤️😍 Amazing job David 🎉
This video is so good. The information, the graphics, the animations, the transitions, all of it. So. Good.
Amazing video guys ❤❤❤ David passion for this stuff is uncanny. 😍😍😍
Love it!! The discussion about JPEG & co was awesome! and so much more than what I expected from the title. Subscribed!
this is so amazing. I cannot believe I didn't find this channel sooner!!!!
Awesome thoughts on this one David, really like how this channel is developing, lots of different fun stuff and a great new perspective on things like cameras. Thinking myself about adding one, regular canon shooter here, but mainly video, this would be a great, portable 3rd body for Exhibitions and stuff. And what I learned so far its also not too bad with video. Wish all of you a great week, cheers.
Such an informative video. Thanks for explaining so many cool concepts .
Great Video David! Love the pacing and animations on such a good topic!
This video was phenomenally made. kudos to everyone involved.
This video is great; the story is delivered very well; the concepts, the graphics. I really enjoyed it.
Excellent review. You summed up the points people want Fuji X100 series for, very very well.
This is the clearest, most well presented, explanation of RAW vs JPG I've ever seen!
wicked video! appreciate davids passion for photography in these videos
Such a good video, really enjoyed it. Nice one David!
Love the style of this review: layedback, movie-like b-roll, lots of pictures and no useless specs. (+10 points for the clay analogy)
pre-ordered mine and I am SO excited. wanted an X100V but was not willing to pay the markup to get one second hand. can't wait for it to arrive!
Always love the photography content David! Very informational. I’ve been influenced lol
I love the nod to and appreciation for the colour scientists. The image compression and explanation of HEIF was also super interesting - appreciate the different angle you take on this camera launch
This was such an awesome video! So much information I had no idea about!
This video is incredibly well made! Really, a joy to watch! 👏🏻
Brilliant. Excellent explanation of HEIC and what drew you to this camera.
This is such a well edited and animated video! More david!!
Wow, fantastic review David!
Motion design/animation is always top tier for these videos, love the studio style for explaining complex camera functions 🙌🏼
I'd love to see more David and Ellis videos, photography and audio are two of my black hole sized money sink hobbies and these videos cater to that so well.
Great video! Loved this accessible explanation
AMAZING video! I’ve been using the V for 3 years and has been a wonderful experience. Instant upgrade for me.
Probably one of the best X100VI videos I’ve seen… and I’ve seen a lot of them. Thanks for taking a different approach on this. Can’t wait for mine to arrive.
This is very informative. Thank you!!
So Good! Well done. Ordered. Thank you.
Absolutely love the passion that’s clearly put into this
Great video, very well presented and you have a great skill in describing technical information in a non technical way , well done 👍
