    Definitely like to see tear downs, but even more I like to see and hear failure analysis, which you did here to a good extent.
    I appreciated hearing your observations of overheating which caused the visual clues you pointed out. Learned a lot from this video, Alex, so thanks a lot! More of the same with even more detailed analysis! 👍

    I would get my local welder to weld an aluminium plate into or onto that engine to fill or cover up that hole then replace the piston, rings & both connecting rods as well as the wrist pin .
    It wouldn't be a $20 (scrap) engine anymore.
    I'd say that the engine over revved then the engine grenaded itself !

    Thanks for the teardown Alex. It doesn't take long to get a hundred dallors worth of parts off an engine. I like your challenge you came up with. I'm looking forward to your next video. I hope you have a good week.

      Thank you!! Yes I’ll have plenty of good parts for a couple other kawasakis that I have here. I’m really excited to see how this series goes. We will have some fun. Hope you have a great one as well.

    I always like tearing engines apart to see what happened other than the mess. I raced cars for 30+ years so i have seen the inside of a few race engines! You got some good parts Alex, but it looks like regular oil changes and that engine would still be running. 😢 As Henry would say that engine is DONESKI! Im really looking forward to your flip series! Goodluck buddy! ✌🇺🇸

      Thank you so much Roger. I’m really excited to put together the fix and flip series. First video will be up this next week. Yes it’s sad they let this one go, but I’ll make sure the parts go to good use. Haha. That’s funny because I texted Henry a video and told him it was doneski 🤣.

    Check the governor shaft seal. That's where mine leaked oil. I called local cub cadet dealer and they had 6 of the seals in stock. I thought for sure it would be a random part that would need to be ordered, but they had 6 of them. Makes me think it's a common problem.

    • @freedommowers420
      @freedommowers420  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes most of the Kawasaki engines i have worked on had the governor shaft seal leaking. I think it’s a pretty common issue for these. This one had run low on oil and blown up before I got it.

    Once the 11 Briggs I/C was the standard. Then Kawi showed up and stole the show. That was about 1987. If only an engine like this was available then. Oh...the work we could have done...

      When I put my first Kawi 13.5s on my 3 Ransomes Bobcats that was a dream come true. My 48 became something else. And I can't describe what they did to my 2 "36"s".
