Neighbor brought me his Toro commercial zero turn, no power, not running right. As soon as he started it to get it off the trailer I suspected it was only running on one cylinder. While he was there, I pulled the plug wires. Yep #1 was not firing. Not mentioning the name of the dealer, but they told him he needed a new engine or new mower. Boy was he pi**ed when I showed him the bad coil.
I used your "unplug the sparkplugs one at a time and try to crank" diagnostic to determine that I had one bad coil on my John Deere 425 with an FD620D Kawasaki V-twin. Thanks!
Check out the Hazet Adapter Set for Ratcheting Combination Wrenches. The set has a 1/4" socket drive that fits on a 13mm ratchet wrench and has a thumb spinner. Very compact for those tight spaces and you can continue to back out a bolt after it's loose. Good diagnostic video! Thanks 6:33
I have a tool that can pick up the electromagnetic fields of the coil/high tension lead and convert it into an approximate KV reading . I’m sure it’s not 100% accurate but the idea is to compare cylinders on multiple cylinder engines and look for the odd man out. Also on of those non contact voltage detectors are good to see if a coil is firing as well .
I run into one of those a few months ago. Except my coil turned out good. having real repair manuals with real specs in them is the ticket. And I thought about relocating the rear coil myself but I was afraid it would look shotty. But the next one that comes across my path will be relocated.
Tengo un problema en mi 4010 kaf 620v Arranca pero si intento acelerar se apaga,se mantiene en ralentí pero no puedo acelerar, sabes porque puede suceder,😢😢
If you test the secondary with the lead touching the spark plug wire directly, after unscrewing the spark plug cap, you get a rather large difference in resistance than with the cap on. Is the factory spec including the screw on cap or no?
I specifically stated in the video that I was replacing both coils / On what model? Each model has a different value, and all the coils read differently.
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 thank you my hearing was impaired. Was just looking at the Quantum model engines or older, good to know they are different values for other models
Is there anywhere ( I haven't been able to find it ) to find the specs on a particular Kawasaki coil ( FS600V as1177, Coil #21171-0711 )? THANKS FOR THE VIDEO ANYWAY.
Hi ne ub, I have an013 mule 610 air cooled a little over 100 hr. keep acting like it' running out of ga, it' full of no E and table, rep. all filter and too pump then carb no buano, any idea?

Thank You for information and advice
Yes clean cables are a must and need cleaned at least once a year
Yes they do

Thank you sir! Helped me figure out which coil to change!
My good man I could watch your channel for days.
💪💪

Great little die agnostic video…👍👍
Amazing what you can do with a volt ohm meter when you know what the values are supposed to be.
Relocation would be a plus.
THANKS FOR THE SPECS ON COIL
Watching trying to figure out how to replace bolt later and hold coil in place
Good demo!
Great Video Jeremy, going to be fun to get that coil back in
Can't wait!
You could also test with 12volts dc thru a push switch and a spark plug
How?
loved the video. Is there a part 2 ? I'm having trouble finding it.
I love my fx691 but that is Kindasucki as Taryl would say.

Of course where the coils are located doesn’t help, for getting corrosion and heat in my opinion
@mowerman. Did you make a video putting it back in? My fat fingers aren’t helping on my side….
I have a gator ts. Crank no start. Not fuel issue. Has 1 cylinder 17 horse Kawasaki engine. How to test?
Do you replace both coils at once?
My experience with Briggs push mower coil 9.7 is good 11.7 to 13 bad😊

Nice video. Next time back the camera up a little to see better what you are doing. Thanks
Too tight of a space. If anything I wish I could’ve have been closer not farther away
My John Deere tractor has that same engine. Replace both coil packs. Still one cillinder would fire. Turned out to be the spark modulator.

Could a bad battery cause the engine to surge due to weak fuel delivery?
To Your Response MM.
These Are 3 ?? This Is Not
A Night At The Improv.
I Don't Understand Your Reply.
Richard.
Three what? I’m trying to figure out what you were talking about.
I think I would replace both of them
You didn’t pay attention in the video because I specifically stated I was going to replace them both
O I’m sorry, was fixing supper also for my handily cap wife
You need a small girl to unscrew it with small hands 🙌
That’s a terrible place to put the dam coil plus it over heating it
My coils test good but still no spark
Mine also
Bad diode
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 where is it located?
What if neither coil has fire?
Igniter problem maybe
