Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind comments!
So I finally got it. Everything. Thanks to you. Thank you. ❤
I need to watch Dr.G every day to stay on track. But your crash course, is equally helpful. Since January I started to make her smoothies, I reversed the fruit/vegetable amount. Still eating nuts/some oils, bread etc. BUT: today my blood results came back, best of my entire life! By far! First time I am not anemic. So far no allergies, I realized that today, with spring coming my friends are already coughing and sneezing, not me this year. It is crazy.😂 I am so happy and thankful. It gave me hope. Pregnant right now, after several miscarriage years ago. All looks good so far. Will keep up the work for me and the baby. Thank you again for your lovely video and personality ❤
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing! Happy my video was helpful.🥰 And I had the same experience with seasonal allergies/asthma disappearing when I switched my diet, isn't it amazing? Congrats on all your progress and keep up the good work! Wishing you and baby the best❤

Thank you very much for sharing with us. Does Dr Goldner say anything about Night shades?
I'm not aware of anything specific about nightshades in any of her protocols. But in her new book, several of the recipes include nightshades such as tomatoes and bell peppers. Generally, I don't think Dr. G limits any kind of raw vegetables, other than to say if an individual is not able to digest/tolerate any particular vegetable, to try something different. To get a better answer, you might try to ask during her next live Q&A, which she usually does on Wednesdays on all her social media platforms.
@@showmemovegan On her Wednesday UA-cams, I've heard her say a particular vegetable e.g. corn, is not a healing vegetable. I don't know what she's said about nightshades, but they are generally known to be reactive for some people.
I found out about Dr. Goldner probably 3 or 4 months ago. I am interested primarily in trying her smoothies. But I still intend to get her newest book to make some of the recipes featured in it. I'm glad your video showed up in my recommendations. Oh @12:43 is that called the crow pose? I am pretty sure I've seen it done before but I'm not sure about the name.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, that is the crow pose! Thanks for watching and commenting ☺
@@showmemovegan thank you for letting me know. And you're welcome.
Thanks for sharing! What about the protein intake?
You're welcome! Regarding protein, generally as long as one is eating an adequate number of calories for their size and activity level, protein needs should be met. If you have concerns about this, you can check how many calories you're consuming using something like Cronometer or another food tracking app. All plant foods have protein including all essential amino acids. But since this protocol is a raw diet and raw vegetables have a very low calorie density, that means you may need to eat a much larger volume of food than you may be used to in order to get the right amount of calories. Hope that helps!
What a great video! You are so articulate and I felt like you proactively answered SO many questions!
Thanks so much! I'm glad it was helpful!

We have the same hair!
I like to add a little seaweed to my smoothy (Nori sheets or Wakame, after being softened in water). They have lots of B12, Iodine and also iron, magnesium, sodium and calcium. All of the things that many veggies lack or have little of. If you add a lot, you can taste it, but it goes very well with camomile (just add the contents of a tea bag), lychee or mango. In the end, B12 supplements are just made of pressed seaweed but way more expensive usually.
Thanks for sharing! Seaweed is great for many things! I use a little dulse flakes every day for the iodine, but my B12 was on the lower end on my last check, so I always make sure to supplement that one.
Hi, thank you for a really helpful video. I'm new to Dr Goldner's protocols and although I've just read both her protocol books, I'm still not sure about certain foods. Could you possibly clarify? Can you eat the following on any of her protocols: salt; maple syrup/raw honey; gluten free grains eg oats, buckwheat etc and pulses. Thank you for any advice. Shelley (UK)
Hi Shelley! Dr. G doesn't have any restrictions on salt, in fact she usually encourages people to regularly consume iodized salt to ensure adequate iodine intake.
Regarding the other foods, those would not be included if following the healing protocols (GLP or GAIP), but you could consume them on the hyper-nourishing protocol (HN). If trying to heal from a disease, the sweeteners, grains and pulses would be eliminated during healing, though once labs are negative for disease, you could slowly reintroduce other foods.
On the HN protocol you add Dr. G's "healing foods," but do not necessarily have to eliminate anything. I have another video all about hyper-nourishing if you're interested. (ua-cam.com/video/81XTTdZAe3E/v-deo.html). Hope that helps!
Heya 👋
Thanks for the video. I clicked on it because I'm in the process of working through my Ulcerative Colitis symptoms using a plant based diet and I thought "Lupus is an autoimmune disease, let's see if there's some crossover?". But then at the end of the video it turns out, you used the diet to reverse Colitis!! Big Reveal!!
I looked through your channel, but couldn't find anything about colitis specifically. I know it can sometimes be perceived as a taboo subject; (but after having it for years I'm pretty sure colitis peeps are pretty much desensitised) but I'm wondering if you could tell us about the severity of your symptoms, the diet you used and why, and the time it took you to heal and whether you've seen any resurgence of symptoms ever?
If I was a youtuber, and I had managed to reverse colitis I'd be shouting it from the rooftops. I'm sure it's something a lot of people would be really interested in, and that would help them massively. Congratulations on getting that done!!
Thanks for the videos and best of luck with the future :)
P
Hi there! Thanks so much for watching and for the feedback. I think you're right about being desensitized...I could talk about bowel movements all day! 😆 But yes, I suppose I figure most people don't want to hear those kinds of details so that's probably why I don't specifically talk about the symptoms I had.
I did recently discuss it briefly in a live hangout where I tell my story of going vegan. It's in the first five minutes or so of this video: ua-cam.com/video/yTFh5b84TtU/v-deo.html
And I have an older video where I talk about what I was eating in the years that I had symptoms, and what I ate transitioning to a vegan diet and when my symptoms went away: ua-cam.com/video/p969-pbqkTk/v-deo.html
But to directly answer your questions, my main symptoms were blood and mucus in stool plus fatigue and a mix of constipation and diarrhea. The colonoscopy showed that my case was mild. I first tried a paleo diet for a few years, which at times seemed to improve symptoms, but they always returned. Once I switched to a whole food plant-based diet, my symptoms were gone within the first couple weeks, and I haven't had any episodes since (in 3 years). And I actually reversed my symptoms before I had heard of Dr. Goldner's Goodbye Lupus Protocol, so for that video I was just showing people how it could work. But normally I simply eat whole grains, beans, tons of cooked and raw veggies, fruit, and small amounts of nuts and seeds. If you're just transitioning to WFPB and looking for more resources, some of my favorite doctors to follow are Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Michal Greger and more.
Thanks again for watching and best of luck to you as well! I'd love to hear how you're doing with the diet if you ever want to check in again!
You do an excellent job of explaining the differences in Dr G’s protocols! I have been on HN since May 2023. Just ordered her cookbook too so I can’t wait to try the recipes!
Awesome! Thank you!
Wendy, do you take meds for your uc? My brother has it & I have collagenous colitis and would be dead without budesonide. A lot of foods give me diarrhea because of it like cauliflower & hummus. Also, drinking that much water is insane. But you did do a great job.
I do not take meds for my UC. Mine was mild and resolved after I switched to a whole food plant-based diet. For digestive conditions, I also recommend checking out Dr. Will Bulsiewicz who is a gastroenterologist. He has some great resources for dealing with these conditions including his book Fiber Fueled. Wishing both you and your brother the best of luck healing!
@@showmemovegan thanks Wendy for your reply. Will check out Dr Bulsiewicz. One thing that bothers me about stopping my lactose free milk (the only diary I can use), in order to go vegan, is not getting the 2000 mg calcium/day for my bones. Calcium supplements are not safe. Years ago, a study at Tufts university health & nutrition center in Boston Ma., found that women especially got calcium deposits in their coronary arteries from calcium supplements. There's even a test that can be done to check for calcium deposits in the coronary arteries called the calcium score test. My PCP who was at Tufts at the time told me to avoid the supplements when possible. I don't know how much calcium you're getting but definitely talk to your doctor about getting a bone density test to see what your bone strength is in the hip and lower spine. Also, don't make the mistake of thinking that if your blood calcium is normal you're all set; the body takes calcium from the bones to maintain a normal level. Be happy, healthy and holy!
Does Dr. G have recommendations for those who also suffer with endocrine pancreatic insufficiency?
She has often mentioned having great success with various types of digestion-related conditions, but for digestive conditions, Dr. G usually recommends working directly with her. Amounts may need to be adjusted so they can be better tolerated, and there may be certain foods that work better. It's often a matter of very slowly increasing fiber amounts, and some amount of digestive symptoms may be normal, but Dr. G would need to assess that directly in these cases.
Nice video! Does Dr Goldner say anything about not having soy milk ?
Soy milk would definitely be ok on the hyper-nourishment protocol, but Dr. G usually recommends almond milk for the Goodbye Lupus and Goodbye Autoimmune Protocols because in her experiene that is what has worked for most people. So my understanding based on what she's discussed in past Q&As is that using soy milk depends on your own individual results. If you're trying to heal from something and having good progress while using soy milk, keep it up, but if progress is slow, try swapping it for something else. Thanks for watching and hope that helps!

Thanks for interesting Video, especially for peopele the speak not enough english. ❤
What does it look like after healing, can you eat cooked food again, as Dr. Michael Greger recommends? Can you eat sprouts instead of legumes, e.g. Kucherbeswn, azuki beans etc.?
Yes, Dr. Goldner emphasizes using only raw foods for the fastest healing, but after that, you could slowly add some cooked foods back in including legumes, though she recommends continuing to eat lots of raw food in addition to whatever cooked foods you add. Sprouted legumes are not allowed on the healing protocol, but vegetable sprouts could be included in addition to the healing food minimums. Hope that helps!
I love Chia pudding!
Your content is truly helpful. Which protocol are you following? Is it rapid recovery, or do you have to follow it lifelong? How long should it be followed? Does the protocol allow you to eat grains like oats or quinoa, and what kinds of protein sources are permitted? Also, does everything have to be organic? Thanks!
Hi I'm glad it's been helpful! I don't normally follow Dr. G's protocols, I simply made this video to provide an example of how one would follow it.
Dr. Goldner recommends people follow her Goodbye Lupus protocol for as long as it takes to reverse their autoimmune condition or other chronic diseases. So the time is different for each person, some have results in just a couple weeks, some it takes a couple months. After that, she recommends continuing to consume the hypernourishing foods (cruciferous veggies, water, and flax or chia), and slowly reintroducing other foods as desired, though oils and animal-based foods should always be avoided.
Dr. G says she sees results whether the produce is organic or conventional, so there is no organic requirement. And for disease reversal, the protocol does not include grains, but they would be ok on the Hypernourishment protocol. I have more information about that protocol here: ua-cam.com/video/81XTTdZAe3E/v-deo.html
@@showmemovegan Thank you for your response. could you please clarify whether the recommended daily water intake of around 96 ounces includes the water content in smoothies. Additionally, I'm curious about the suitability of drinking alkaline water while following a healing protocol. I have a water alkalizer and I'm wondering if it's okay to consume alkaline water in this context. Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you!
@@patel1111101 Yes! If you use water to blend your smoothies that counts towards the 96 ounces. And Dr. G just answered a question about alkaline water a few weeks ago on her weekly Q&A. I remember her saying she doesn't have any particular type of water recommendation. Any kind should be fine, she is more concerned about just getting people more hydrated. She actually mentioned how the diet itself is technically very alkaline. And she said her family tried alkaline water for a short time and didn't notice much difference for them, so any kind of water is suitable for this protocol. Hope that helps!
Hi how long have you been following this protocol and have you noticed any improvements? Thank you
Hi! I don't normally follow this protocol, I was fortunate to heal my ulcerative colitis with a normal whole food plant-based diet. However, I have followed the hyper-nourisment protocol most of the time over the last couple years, and it has improved my skin and increased my energy. And just doing this one day of the full GLP protocol also seemed to improve my digestion in just that one day!
That's great. Thank you for your response. @@showmemovegan
Very informative. I am from Africa and have a heart problem. Con you add some african dish like plantains, green banana, yellow yams, sweet potatoes etc to this diet?
Hello! I am not a doctor, so I can't recommend anything regarding your specific condition. But if you want to follow this protocol exactly, it only includes raw vegetables and a small amount of raw fruit. I'm not sure if all of those can be consumed raw, but any raw fruits/veggies would be ok. Depending on your individual health and goals, you may not need to follow it that strictly. This protocol is intended to be used to help reverse chronic health conditions, so if you're just maintaining health, I think any of those foods cooked or raw would be a great part of a balanced plant-based diet. Hope that helps!
Just ordered her cookbook, for the smoothie does she use coconut milk or what for the smoothie
Dr. Goldner usually recommends almond milk for the smoothies. Or you can just use water and count that towards the water intake goal.
What about grains and legumes? Since those are cooked foods, can they be included in AIP?
Grains or legumes are ok if just hyper-nourishing, but they are not included on GLP or GAIP. If doing GLP or GAIP for a chronic disease, after symptoms are gone and labs have become negative for disease, then those could slowly be added back in. Dr. G calls that step down, though she doesn't have an exact protocol for that since everyone is a little different with what they can tolerate.
So the protocol is all raw food? Is that during the initial intensive healing phase? Is some cooked allowed thereafter?
Also, so do you know how Dr. Goldner feels about just water fasting? Dr. Alan Goldhamer - True North Health, Santa Rosa, Ca - has been seeing tremendous results for many years. Fasting goes way back of course.
Thanks for the video
Yes, her protocol is all raw while healing. Once disease markers have normalized, and symptoms are gone, the idea is to continue "hypernourishing" with cruciferous, water, and omegas, but then yes cooked foods could be added back at that point.
From what I recall, Dr. Goldner is not a fan of fasting in general because she prefers what she calls "overdosing in nutrition" through her protocol rather than fasting. But I personally am a big fan of Dr. Goldhamer and hope to go to True North myself one day!
So glad I found your channel! How was the quality of the cookbook? Did it fall apart on you? Thinking of purchasing but a few reviews stated this issue.
I've flipped through my copy quite a bit, and have not had that problem. I'd say it's a pretty standard paperback binding. So as long as you don't crease the spine really hard, I wouldn't expect it to fall apart or wear out any sooner than any other paperback. I will say the color print seems a little faded, so the images aren't really bright and vibrant, but that doesn't bother me so much because you can still see everything and read the recipes just fine. Dr. G has said she is working with the publisher on a hardback with more glossy/high quality images, but I don't think that has a release date yet. So if you're just wanting the recipes, I think the paperback is fine, but if you want "prettier" pictures you might wait for the hardback.
What about flatulence😢 Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm no doctor, but just from my own experience, some amount of gas is normal and to be expected, but the best advice I have is to go slow. If you're not used to eating certain high fiber foods, transition to them slowly, adding just a little bit more every day. If you still have trouble, there are elimination diets you can do to try to identify particular foods you may be sensitive to by slowly reintroducing foods one by one. Sometimes you might be able to have a small amount of a certain food, but large amounts will cause gas. Unfortunately it can be tricky to figure out! If cutting back and slowing increasing the fiber doesn't help, I'd recommend working with a doctor or plant-based dietitian to help you identify your triggers. You might also want to check out the books by Dr. Bulsiewicz called Fiber Fueled and The Fiber Fueled Cookbook where he talks a lot about this topic. Hope that helps!
Do you add water to your smoothie? Does the water in the smoothie count toward the 96 oz or is the 96 oz in addition to the water in the smoothie?
Yes, I usually use water for my smoothies and it does count towards the 96 ounces!
❤
can you link the book. how much is the book
I believe it is currently only available on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Goodbye-Lupus-Hello-Delicious-Hyper-Nourishing/dp/B0CQMFCKYZ
Hi, I'm still abit confused. Is the Hyper nourishment diet permanent? Can I incorporate grains and beans and olive oil
Thanks
Hi! In general, Dr. G recommends against oils, including olive oil. But if you are doing hyper-nourishment, you add the vegetables, omegas, and water in addition to your normal diet. So in that case, yes you could eat beans, grains, and olive oil. I have a different video that focuses specifically on hyper-nourishment if you want more details: ua-cam.com/video/81XTTdZAe3E/v-deo.html
Can i include honey to sweeten the smoothies
If you are strictly following the Goodbye Lupus or Goodbye Autoimmune Protocols, then sweeteners are not included. But if you are only hypernourishing, then you could include honey if you choose.
Will the chia seeds congeal if they are ground up?
If you're talking about for chia pudding, yes, the ground seeds do still absorb the liquid and turn into that kind of gel consistency, but it definitely has a different texture. So if you really love the texture of regular chia pudding with whole seeds, the ground seeds will have a different mouthfeel. Hope that answers your question.
Super clear and informative, speaking as someone who is already familiar.
A couple thoughts: add text to read flax and chia is ground in earlier part of video; check if Dr G suggests getting blood levels of Vit b and D prior to taking; mention or add text indicating salt and iodine needs; include nutritional yeast somewhere, as this is a B source. Or, simply say at the outset that it’s not fully comprehensive and direct people to Dr Gs sources for full info?
Again, appreciate the clarity and inspiration!
Hi! Thank you for the feedback! In my first video I covered Dr. G's resources for full info, but you're right that would have been good to include in this video for those who missed the first one. Unfortunately I cannot update anything in the video itself after it's published, but I have added the links to Dr. G's websites in the info below the video. Thanks so much for watching and for your comments!
Is it the fructose in fruit that slows healing? Would limes be ok?
Based on what Dr. G says in her Q&As, she doesn't know for sure why, but she has observed that in some people fruit seems to slow healing. For most people a little fruit is ok. So I believe limes would fall in that category. If you can include them and still see good results, then go ahead, but if your progress is slower than expected, you might try removing them. Hope that helps!
@@showmemovegan it does help thank you for taking the time to respond to me I really appreciate it.
@@mmafightratings of course!
Thank you. Are you maintaining your weight?
Hi! If you're asking about maintaining weight on this particular raw protocol, I can't speak to that because I don't follow this regularly. I was only trying this out for a day. But I eat a whole food plant-based diet and yes I maintain my weight.
@@showmemovegan ok I am vegan also and feel like what you presented would promote weight loss. Thank you.
@@starseedenergy996 Sorry if I misunderstood the question. Yes, if one had weight to lose, I believe this protocol could promote weight loss. I think it just depends on what the goals are and how much one eats, but since most of the food is raw vegetables the protocol has a very low calorie density overall, which could promote weight loss.
@@showmemovegan yes. Just wondering because I did not catch that you only did it for one day…vegan diets in general promotes a healthy weight.

I wonder if the smoothies work for IBS?
Dr. G has mentioned working with IBS, crohn's, and ulcerative colitis patients. You might check with your doctor about your specific situation if you have any concerns.
Where did you buy the book
I got it on Amazon, and I believe that is the only place to buy it currently. I know there is supposed to be a hardcover version coming out at some point, and I think it might be more widely available when that version is out, though I have not heard more about a release date for that.
Is this diet work for hashimoto’s thyroid also ?
Yes, Dr. Goldner has worked with Hashimoto's patients using this protocol
Hashimoto is on the cover of Goodbye Autoimmune.
Can we use lettuce leaf for smothies
Lettuce is ok to eat on the protocol, however it does not count towards the 1 pound of vegetables. Dr. G only counts cruciferous vegetables, spinach, or chard.
Kale or bik choy are better choice if oxalates are a problem. I have kidney stones, so baby bilok choy, kale, turnip greens for my smoothie
