Makes me wonder if one should just keep a nice patch of grass on the side or even in containers just to be able to take “dog spot” plugs from. Like switching holes on a golf green.
What spray tip are you using? That fan looks amazing! I have the same backpack sprayer as you and the one tip that came with it is good, but the edges get funky!

Ryan i have a question. I just put down my second application of granulated starter fert yesterday within a 3 week period or seeding. Can I put the liquid root hume down within the next day or 2? Or will it be too much for the lawn?

Pro-Plugger those dog spots out and get some transplant plugs from a less-visible spot on the lawn.
I had the same thing with seeds getting into the flower beds. Considering transplanting the new KBG and PRG growth into the thin spots in the lawn. How nerdy is that?

How many gallons of water do you put in your back pack sprayer when using the simple lawn solutions products?
I ordered the Lawn Booster from Amazon but arrived damaged and contents have been leaking so I have not had a chance to use the product. This is my 2nd order from Amazon and they never pack them properly, both orders arrived damaged.
Ryan, I got a late start this year, I overseeded with 50lbs of perineal rye this past weekend, it has been raining the past two days, perfect. How soon can I add fertilizer, I bought weed and feed but am afraid to put it down on new seed, but want the nitrogen before it’s to late here in Maryland. Should I put down some 10-10-10 for now and weed and feed in November?

Last week was nice up north as well. Today however.... It back to quilted flannels. The front yard has gotten a couple mows in. The color of that Rye grass is amazing compared to my surrounding neighbors. My wife wasn't too happy when i de-thatched and scarified the yard. Now, she is more than pleased, commenting it reminded her of velvet. I got my lawn level ready for spring. Once the warm weather kicks back in I'll be adding about 7-8 yards of new topsoil and leveling out all those dips.
Great video as always! I get those dog pee spots too. I have a reserve area on the side of my yard where I cut out good grass and replace those spots with the same type of grass that is mowed at 5/8".

@@ryanknorrlawncare true, but it seems like the pee spots are always just a little bit bigger than the plug.
Pull a plug and replace the dog spots.. looks doable because they are small and round.

I'm down in N GA. I reseeded my backyard w TTTF bc of shade issues. Temps are 70's during days and 50's at night. I know HOC should be 3.5-4" bc of heat here. But, during Fall can I cut any shorter to encourage it to thicken up/mature faster?

I use that Twin Pines fertilizer a couple times of year when I want a quick green up and some P and K. For the price you really can't beat it.

Do you have any advice on how to get rid of moles? I’ve been setting victor traps for months and no luck. Also night crawlers? There tearing my new lawn up and I finally had it looking good now it’s covered in bare spots.... thanks
Grub x. Kill the grubs (source of food), moles are gone.

I feel for ya. My wife always lets the dogs out the front and I end up having to dig it out and reseed. "You like doing yardwork anyway! :p"
I'm guessing Alan Hayne. He traveled recently. Curious to see if you like the tall fescue. I did at first. It grows very fast but its not as dark as I like. I'm in a new house next month, lawn is crap. Going to try and get KBG in amd pre emergent.
It depends what varieties you have in terms of how dark it is.

Last question: can you walk on the lawn after over-seeding. Can’t turn on my water source without walking on my lawn. Any advice?
You can if you need to but I’d suggest getting a timer of sorts so you can avoid walking on it

Yeah don’t see why not. As long as you get good seed to soil contact and keep it nice and moist for a few days you’ll see the little sprouts growing. If you see puddles that’s too much water.

So glad I found your channel, it's an absolute wealth of knowledge for a newbie to lawn care such as myself! I'm trying to rehab a really patchy, terrible looking yard, and love the quality looking products in your lawn care kit... unfortunately I haven't found any options from the Simple Solutions company, or Amazon, that ships to Canada. Hopefully that'll become a possibility sometime though!

These DIY UA-cam lawn guys spoon feed I do this professionally for thousands of lawns and I treat every 6 to 8 weeks but at a much stronger rates and NPK I laugh when they are kicking them constantly with a backpack sprayer

I just renovated my lawn for the first time from scratch, and every other video/blog I’ve seen so far says to wait a few months before doing again. I’m definitely willing to try sooner lol it’s only been 3 weeks so far for me and I’m not getting a ton of growth
@@beedubprep if I waited a few months it would be snowing. 😀 I've done seed day and 4-6 weeks later in every renovation I've ever done.

Wow! Ryan went to an awful lot of work for me! 🤣🤣🤣. By far the best thing for lawn domination is liquid iron hands!!! 6oz per gallon, water in and 2-3 days later bam darkest green on the block (unless you live next to one of us😉)

Nasser Haashi do it yourself. It’s hard work but only for a few hours. If you have family members who can help, even better.
