One week after my lawn renovation, my perennial rye is already at 2 inches with really solid coverage. Just over seeded some of the thin areas and recovered with peat moss. Thanks for everything. Learned almost 100% from this channel alone.
Great video Ryan. I bought 12 5-gallon buckets and I can get .45 tons of mason sand at a time. This ensures I don’t try to bite off too much work at once, and it only costs $16.50 per visit to the quarry. Sand leveling is addictive and I will continue to keep leveling my lawn as I’ve seen a significant difference when mowing.
Just finished my lawn renovation. Aerated, then raked in 14 four cubic foot bags of perlite and then topsoiled it. I'm going with fine fescue grass. And crossing my fingers. Thanks Ryan for the inspiration.
Good Job. Do you know that I use your channel as part of my meditation? I watch golf for the same reason. It's soothing, it's calm. I bet if you put any human being with anxiety, anger issues, stress or the like, into a room for an hour playing only Ryan Knorr videos, they'd leave the room happy.
Man what a project. I can only imagine what that back yard will look like after you finally put irrigation in it. If memory serves me right you ran lines and valves and stopped there. Solid work!

I'm glad you ended the video with the fact that top dressing with sand is permanent. I think for this reason I'll skip it. Golf courses and other sports fields are OK to be high maintenance but I feel like at some point I might not want to put in the effort and will want something more maintenance free. I'll stick with sifted topsoil. Thank you!

Love all the b-roll shots, drone shots, transition effects, LUTs, and all the effort put on the quality of the video. Impressive. Also, great content. Good job.
Also adding sand is good AFTER leveling with dirt. It allows the ground to stay level and less mud, plus it keeps the grass dry on top and moist under. It’s the way to go and Bermuda and and Augustine love it. It drains well too.
Ryan, Thank you for these videos. I have learned a lot from them in just few days. I am starting a new front yard lawn from seed and I had no idea of how until I started watching your videos. Thanks again.
I've done two lawn renovations in my life. Installed an irrigation system, laid sod, tilled my lawn with a tiller. But the aeration and leveling stuff looks like so much work. Not to mention every year. Also it seem like as years progress you would start to have a lot of sand on the lawn. Irrigation heads would be buried in the ground and need raised.
He said hes aerating every year and removing the plugs from the lawn, so i don't think he will have much of an issue with the grade getting too high. 1000's plugs is a lot of stuff to be removing from the lawn.
