Yes, I also think that this can make a difference, but often get conflicting feedback whenever I mention it. Maybe it just doesn't make a difference for some hardware.
I started using that mod and love it now, but I didn't think it would boost performance because its increasing shadow resolution at long ranges, but definitely let me know if that's not the case! Thank you!!
@thestarvox You can tweak shadow settings. For me, on maps like woods and customs, it was a big help. On my 3440x1440 ultrawide, having all them trees acting crazy was taxing. I am getting over 90fps consistently now on high settings.

Here another MEGA TIP for AMD RYZEN x3D (5....x3D / 7....x3D / 9....x3D): ALL of them will gain between 10 and 30 FPS in EFT with the recent Windows 11 24H2 update or the optional KB5041587 patch that optimizes the branch prediction of the CPUs. I am running a 5800x3D with an RTX3080 on a 49" G9neo and see a noticable average gain of 10-20 FPS.
I run a 7700x/5600mt 32gb/3070 at 4k dlss balanced. I’m actually amazed I get the fps I do. It varies a bit but 70+ at least. I still can’t quite that feeling that the gunplay is janky compared to ready or not, incursion red river and ground branch though.
Great video! Lossless Scaling is cool but in my experience you will experience very weird graphical issues like shaky and wiggling reticles, jagged textures at the edges of the screen, etc. as well as the aforementioned input lag.

WAIT, I've been too busy IRL and read this wrong, sorry! Use Only Physical Cores in the game settings needs to be ENABLED and the boot.config file needs to use your THREAD count subtracted by 1.
I9 10850k and a 3080 i cant get it higher than 40-50 fps no matter what I do. Lossless scaling helps but it feels so clunky at my framerate espeically when it drops to 35. I have my mods at default settings (the usual ones no swag and donuts) and use questing bots for spawning My bots also dont seem to attack eachother or move around the map much no idea whats going on eith that.
@thestarvox yeah looting bots, questing bots and SAIN. I use questing bots spawning system as I like PMCs spawning at spawns I just wish they'd cross the map. I might try out unicorn see if I like it thanks for the reply!
What's your fps without Swag and Donuts? If your fps is good without it, the bot activity is a clear indication that they're over utilizing your CPU .If that's the case, try capping bot spawns or limiting bot AI. Mods can achieve this for you.

Im using this with amd super resolution 1440p with 1080p monitor only time fps drops below 60fps when in streets with alot of bots and dead bodies but mostly it runs 70+ fps with 80+ mods thanks again for this video ❤you a legend 😁👌
I never was able to enjoy SPT with 5600x, AMD 6800 and 32gb of ram sadly... No matter if vanilla SPT or modded with tweaks to lower AI, it was the same I guess the CPU was the problem

I just started playing tarkov again and discovered SP Tarkov so im wondering if i can just use the boot config settings and not the mods cuz ofc the mods would get me banned. Hope you see this !

@@thestarvox a PC from aztec era. gen 4 i7 and gtx 950m, 1TB HDD and 8 GB ram. its a laptop. i played many games with it like metal gear solid v and even need for speed heat but EFT is a pain.
Ooh yeah, that's a tough one. You're laptop is barely hanging on, but it's rather serviceable if it could run MSGV, which is a huge favorite of mine. EFT will certainly strain it's limits!
i have i3 7100 and gtx 1050, run regular tarkov 45-50 fps (havent played new wipe with FSR3 on live yet, but i did get 5 fps more in hideout on average so maybe 50-55fps now), and i get roughly 40fps (fine by me) on SPT (realism mod, sain, and a few other mods)

7950X3D, 4090, 64 GB DRR 5 6000Mhz. I used process lasso to force the server onto the frequency CCX, and force the game client onto the cache CCX. I set the graphics profile to max, and turned off everything but high color texture. I use 95 mods, and average 105 FPS on ground zero at 4k.
Maan i still get hardly 60 fps on most of the maps... I got a pretty good pc buy once the bots spawn my performance is even lower :/ Do i need to change something in AI mods?
Try using MOAR for better spawn performance and use the performance settings in SAIN. Also try playing without SAIN as a real test of how it impacts your hardware.
I barley got by in spt with a desktop rig 3600 with a 5700x but now I hase a laptop and it just gets eatien up trying to play spt.. fml. I'm going to try these extra mods and changes and see if it helps.
There is only 1 thing u have to do to double the performance in SPT. set up a dedicated server (with Fika) on same computer and join yourself..... now u wont lose fps after bots spawn in (same as without bots)

In online, most of the heavy tasks like AI's are being handled by the tarkov servers, so your CPU doesn't have to worry about it. But in sptarkov and practice mode, your CPU has to handle all of that information by itself and using only one core, thanks to game's awful coding and engine. Most people think tarkov is completely single threaded but that's not true, it can still utilize multiple cores for light tasks, but it heavily relies on a single core when it comes to AI's. You might ask why a dedicated server like Fika won't make AI's run on multiple cores like actual tarkov servers do, that's because the AI processing in offline is coded to run on a single core, and your dedicated server can't change it, so there are no performance gains doing it. Maybe can we just change the code and make it run better? Nope. It is hard-coded, which means we cannot change how it works until they decide to rewrite the whole thing.
i have a msi gaming laptop and it runs tarkov pretty well with around 75 mods, even before when i had a regular dell laptop it ran tarkov well on medium and even high settings, the only issue was with aiming with scopes as only then it would lag
@@thestarvox yeah! and its cheaper than a desktop depending on what you get, i got mine for around 20k rand which is around 1,160 dollars i did use some optimization from you and my game runs smooth and i load into raids in less than 10 mins unless its streets then its like 15 mins
Lossless scaling was a godsend for me, you should get it, even if you only use it for streets. (I use it at all times) i get very minimal input lag, it feels more like a little added inertia then it does input lag.
Could not disagree more. Most of what makes high FPS good in games is how responsive it makes the game feel. Frame generation doesn't do that at all and the dissonance between the frame rate and the response rate is terrible especially in a first-person shooter played with a mouse

Not well, I think. You could probably do a lot of tuning and use mods to help performance to get it running with low settings and reduced objects & spawns, but you'll still be running below spec.
I was just about to do some heavy configing after having massive fps drops with sain+questing bots. This video couldn't be timed better. Much love. You would expect a Ryzen 5 7500F to be able to handle this spaghetti hell of a game but good lord, the amount of tweaking and experimenting one has to do to find out what option/tweak affects what is abysmal. Like I think sometimes when I get fps drops and check my hardware monitor overlay and see the gpu at 50% and cpu at 30, getting 40fps in the middle of the mall in interchange and it annoys me to no end.
If you ever get the budget, the number one upgrade that seems universally beneficial in either SPT or Live is to get an X3D Ryzen CPU. Even more than higher end CPUs, the cache design of X3D chips seem to smash CPU bottlenecks.
All AIs in the game are being handled by a single core which puts a shit load of work on the cpu and causing it to effectively bottleneck the GPU. That means you need a cpu with a very strong single core performance and high clock speeds.
And if your CPU can handle it, the most recent update to SAIN finally uses multi-threading for the bot behavior, which has helped performance all around for many.
I haven't measured, having come into the tricks early and kept them all this time, but my hardware would CERTAINLY lose 10-20 FPS without them with just 16GB of RAM. I remember specifically gaining about 10 FPS just with the boot.config changes, though, that was more recent. Thanks for watching!

I have very limited knowledge of AMD hardware, so I appreciate the tips for the benefit of those that do.
Are you using any progression mods for AI PMC, like ALP? Been away from SPT for a while.
I use the Realism Mod, it includes bot progression.

You could try Unicorn for more diverse spawns to get the bots into more places.

Ive noticed that my VRAM is really high on streets even with Lower Res Mode could it be buggy?
Streets is poorly optimized, even with that Lower Res mode - it's a small solution for a big problem.
