- The beginning of a Huge Project, 1949 PA-16 Clipper. Follow this Clipper to see how it will become the best performing Clipper. There will be engine and wing changes, then topped off with a STOL prop. The plan is to showcase it during Oshkosh for the STOL Demo. There will be tons of aircraft maintenance, if you're a gear head stay tuned for sure!

@@Blaircraft.Engines Went all the way down to the fuselage, now going back up with electrical, Fuel and hydraulics before covering now. Planning on AirTech.

15:00 As a non-mechanic, it's always shocking to see how small the pins are that hold the wings attached.
Did you do more videos on the skinning of this airplane? Seeing 5/17/49, (74 years) I would be about 4.5 years old when this airplane was being born. 🙂 This airplane is about 3.5 years older than my J3 (77 years old) and me, 78 years old. I'm definitely going to be interested when the new fabric goes on, if possible.
Awesome! Thanks for your comment. I have yet to remove the skin from the second wing, I plan on starting that in the next week or two.
I will definitely show the process of everything moving forward, Wings, Engine and prop install.
Josh - really liked the fabric stripping. Interested in your views on how to get rid of some of that corrosion and glue prior to recovering. I have a 1950 PA-20 and will be doing the ailerons and horizontals this winter while finishing up the O-290-D engine work.

I recently purchased a vapor honing machine that I’ll be using to clean up corrosion and various debris.
I’ll have a update on the second wing within the next two weeks, however the runway update will be this weekend. 👊 it’s already uploaded in the queue.

Yes… lol currently having more loss of power issues on the excavator. I’ll have an update fairly soon, hopefully after I get a few more trees down!
Why are you reskinning the Clipper? Did it fail a test? 😊
The fuselage was completed in 2019 prior to purchasing it, however, the wings were over 40 years old from last covering.
