I said "wtf did I just watch" right after dude
Yea, just what the fuck is this
LOL😂 i never laugh so hard about the gay parade! About the secrets we choose to hide, and the ones we choose to share! For those who didn't understood; the flamingo who landed in the lake where happens to have a flamingo parade( wich is another name for gay parade), is a "straight" flamingo, right? He disapprove all that happy mess around, and felt shocked and riled up when the gays confused him as being another one of them. However, he sees the beatiful heron and fall in love with her. Going after her, he found out that the elegant lady seems a serious, and demure straight partner for him. But he forgot that he was a pink flamingo, reason more than enough to be rejected and despised in a world of straight black and white birds of black"n'white thoughts! He, then, confuses the demonstration of love, with force and aggressiveness, when observing the mating of the tigers- so he thought it would be a good idea to conquer her beloved adopting the posture of a predator, a "macho man", and, also, the respect of a very conservative society who once had already rejected him for being a pink bird! As we could see, it was a very bad idea, because the black'n'white birds rejected him, now, for two reasons- because he was pink and because he was a predator!! Disappointed and giving up to conquer her beloved, he is misunderstood by the gay community, who confuses him by being one of them, and everybody goes there to welcome him and celebrate his supposed " out of the closet"! While he's struggling to explain to that people that he's not gay or even liked what he consider, maybe, deviations from a normal sexual behavior, suddenly, appears her beloved, dressed like a dominatrix, reveling to him, a hidden side of her, and her intimacy, that no one could ever suspect under her cover of a "good daughter"!
In the end, no one cares for that( at least, the flamingos), everybody's having a great time, a good party, and celebrating the love! 'Cause what really matters in this life, is that you have to deal with who you are, accept yourself, love a lot yourself, and do everything you can to be happy, and that doesn't mean it has to be the way that others may think you should be or behave, 'cause at the end of the day, the reflection on the mirror is your face, not others opinions! Be happy the way you are; accept the difference, 'cause to somebody else, you, too, may look different; love and be loved, and live a full life! That's the message of the comic we just saw!!
Cheers, people!
From Brazil; with love!💓💕

If you are confused by the moral it's very obvious but, the story is saying that not everyone of one group is like the stereotype, sure there can be people who enforce that stereotype but nobody is one in the same. For example, the stork is seen as elegant and prim, but in reality she's a dominatrix. Same goes for the flamingo, who is stereotyped as gay but in reality he's straight and in love with the stork.
Yeah but its pretty stupid, like a reversed world. Nobody tries to force people to be gay or to go to pride, its usually the other way around, which might send the wrong message.
what are the tigers meant to represent lmao
You son of a bitch… you find the message!
@@Krisz01777 well I mean there's people who do wanna push lgtbq+ onto other people and same with straights on gay people
Ehh, I kinda doubt it... It's kind of weird to stereotype all those gay flamingos as rowdy and all, it feels a bit like whoever made this "plot" is homophobic, like they think gays are these wild, loud people. There sure are gay people who act like that, but there are calmer ones as well.
I thought at first this might be like some metaphor to make straights understand how it is to be a minority, where the norm is forced upon you, but this is just weird.

I am so confused. I'm having a really hard time trying to find the moral if there even was one. I can't make any judgments without knowing the reason behind the making of this, but personally, it felt a little bit homophobic. I could easily just be reading this wrong, but that's the message I received. It had potential, but ultimately it lost me. I'd really love to know what was happening when this was being made.
Same. I was trying to figure out if anyone else saw it too
This was somehow homophobic and heterophobic at the same time. The straight birds were all miserable and judgmental, and the gay birds were all happy but they didn't know what personal space meant at all. They just kind of acted like the word "No" doesn't exist. Wild. They also had a lot of stereotyping in this.
@@catpoke9557 maybe it's how asexuals feel in our over sexualized world.

@@celixei this person is saying that putting flamingos as gay just because they are pink, tall, thin, and meet in large noisy groups is a bit too stereotypical
You are correct
Here is my attempt to summarize the film:
Main flamingo lives among lots of other freely expressive LGBTQ+ flamingos but decides he ain't into that so he goes for the basic stork girl. The stork is raised in your average cis hetero society, he tries to impress her but only embarrasses himself. He sees two tigers fucking and for some reason he dresses up in a tiger outfit?? The standard suburbans think he's an absolute weirdo whereas the gay flamingos love his new look. Feeling dejected, he wanders away from the crowd and then we discover the reason why the lady stork liked him was that she was a sadist. The end...?
Idk what I'm supposed to get from this film.
the film boggles my mind in every way bruv
Don’t be part of crowd maybe? Find your own voice
I always thought this for the dressing up as a tiger
Since the stork didn't like him and kinda made fun of him. He dressed up as a tiger because it looked like the girl tiger didn't like the male one idk
Wtf at the end!
Oh damn, people. He just a furry.
That's the purpose of dressing tiger!
This is actually a really unifying video. It brought every person of every sexuality together to say, “What the fuck!?”

Real question is why were you fever dreaming about BDSM storks as a kid? Not shaming, just curious
Yeah… i dont blame you.
For those who missed it, at 1:02, there's a flamingo wearing an extra pair of wings.
Lmfao, thanks. I didn't notice that.
I think they were dressed up as an angel
Oh yeah
Oh yes, the problem with stereotypes. It's not because you're a flamingo that you have to be gay, and it really sucks when everyone wants to tell you what you are or what you like. Flamingos are graceful, and being graceful is being feminine in society's eyes, that's why he was trying to be more fierce like a tiger, which can be seem as being more masculine. Of course it didn't work, people will see what they wanna see in the end, it doesn't matter how you change yourself.
You should have directed this film bc it was confusing as all Hell. Now I understand it lmfao
It did work in the end tho
Also he judged the crane girl because he thought she'd be "nicer" and "sweeter" or more "laid back" than flamingos, possibly either _because_ she's a girl or because she's _not_ a flamingo. But in the end, he learned she's not what he expected either lol
But hey, he still got her in the end!
Ok ok I get the message. Don't get too much bothered around by others if you are straight, let others be, Just explore your kink. Jk I don't make any sense. The ending got me off guard, lmao.

"Tooth-like ridges on the outside of a flamingo's bill help filter food from the water. Both the upper and lower mandibles contain two rows of a bristled, comb-like or hair-like structure called lamellae." Technically teeth on their bills.
I feel like I just had some sort of straight pride (tm) themed fever dream.
That's what I thought. I thought, "oh the flamingo fell in love with a really femmy straight man". Nope just a straight flamingo disgusted with "the gays" and trying to bone a lady.

Said Stork just happens to be a German, which makes 100% sense to me, why? I really don't know but it does make sense to me :D
I don’t think flamingos and tigers congregate in the same ecosystem.
Historically, they did in the past. Greater flamingo can be found visiting many part of Europe and Asia. India in one of the place, and in the past when tigers were more widespread, they might once used to live in the same place.
Nowaday however, tigers’ habitat have been reduced so much that those places flamingos usually migrate to provably have none left.

There is always an unstitched for a torn. That flamingo was the "different" of the community from him and he was judged for that, no matter what he did.
Pretty sure "his community" didn't judge him, but the other ones did lol
Wtf did the flock do to him? He was the one who got pissed off and had a hissy fit over everyone being gay and partying, making the most of it. they didn't judge him at all, even embraced him by still trying to talk to him and enjoy the party
But he wasn't.
@@wailmutt Yeah but he yearned for an intimate relationship and he was awkward and insecure

Here are my thoughts on this:
I'm trying really hard like most people in the comments to find the moral of this story. My best guess is that you shouldn't judge others based on what they look like or where they came from or that there seems to be only 2 groups to choose from; gay and straight. The assumption moral: The flamingo was a flamingo so the marshland birds assumed he was gay. He also dressed up like a tiger and the stork assumed he'd like bdsm. Same with how the flamingo assumed the stork was traditional and not into bdsm. Only 2 groups moral: The stork did not fit in either group. With that being said, it was a little tone deaf in these subjects and I believe the creator wasn't able to successfully portray the moral. Felt more like a Loony Tunes short with the bird always getting harassed and never winning. I know it was purposefully exaggerating gay stereotypes, I actually found the exaggeration of Pride gatherings to be funny because they make me hella anxious and I'm lgbt. They even played along with straight people stereotypes wearing ties, gossiping, and being void of fun. But the end where the flamingos filled the screen seemed like they were trying to say gay people would be the majority of the population and take over, and that just doesn't sit right with me. It would have been WAY better in my opinion if the flamingo found a third option instead of the two. A place that he belongs. It would have shown the audience that there doesn't have to be just two groups to choose from and you'll find your group eventually. I actually thought he was asexual heteromantic until the dress-up scene happened.
If we have to try so hard to find a moral, maybe that isn't a good thing. If there is a moral, it isn't really a good one
I think I like your theory better. None of this film seems like it accurately depicts any side of us either orientation or group.
@@NYM0 I think the inaccuracies were deliberate. Satire is notoriously ugly and this is a prime example. There are a lot of people who really, truly struggle to find the moral here, but this is really by-the-book satire, I promise. Even the people's reactions to this animation can be seen as part of the art... Imagine there being a clip at the end of some really odd-looking birds watching this on a screen in the dark, where one is offended, one loved it, and there's a third in the middle just trying to make peace with the fact that his friends have such different viewpoints. lol
I took the end as him finding that group, kinda. Sort of "you'll always find freaks like you". But I suppose it only works if you're into BDSM and that's kind of a basic assumption (that everyone/most ppl would be) on the same level as the heteronormative birds I suppose.

Wow, this is a very funny and interesting take. I love LGBT media but i'm tired of the same old 'coming out' stories that films and animations always use. This flips it on its head, where nobody has to come out as gay and actually it's the straight one who needs to clarify his intentions. And nothing bad happens to anybody!
Ikr opposite world
the poor straight flamingo was having the bad day tho.
This is a good short film as more straight people could understand the straight flamingo's feelings and how it feels being different from other people in a group.
Dude... No offense but why the fuck someone feel the necessity of clarify the "intentions"?
Just be yourself and ignore everything else, no one is putting the gayness in front of straight people, and no straight people need to clarify they are straight. I found this short so offensive for gays and no sense for straights. Just ridiculous in both way for everyone and they dont put a correct message, cause they wanted to explain something but i really didnt get it. This was one of the coolest things I've recently seen. What a superb animation... It must have been taken centuries to proper animate everything. It is so atmospheric. All the lenses effects make you feel right in. Everything on the 'straight' side of the sea is grayish, and the gay side is full of... gay colors all over. It reminds me of the density of love+death+robots, in the sense that so much is happening so quickly - like 'The Witness' for instance. 5 stars.

I love how it is a cool way to show two completely different ideas/beliefs in a comedic way. The vibrant crazy culture of the gay flamingos and how vocal they are of what they believe that in. Which is a contrast compared to the more earthly colors and much more relaxed out-look the more traditional marshland creatures show. Also the more private and calm aspect of the marshland birds contrast with the more loud and open feel of the flamingos.
Again, I love how you took a comedic look at current day ideas and beliefs.
The more marshland creatures were portrayed as more judgmental and miserable. You see them arguing with each other, looking sad, angry, and making fun of others. I wouldn't call that "relaxed" imo.

Everyone says that there is no meaning to be found here, but it seems to me that it is not there. Just ridiculing the stereotypes that all gay pride parades look vulgar and bright, and the gays themselves are clingy and do not recognize refusals, as well as the stereotype about the "gray" condemning heterosexual community. The stork itself seems to be the one who is an adherent of the typical gray mass, and in the end it turns out that she is a mistress. The joke is that BDSM lovers are not so easy to figure out from the crowd.
