A key part of the story that really sticks out to me: He murders a bug for it’s crown, fits it on his finger and later chopped his own finger off thinking it’s another creature with a crown. Blinded by greed, he killed himself because of it.

i'm genuinely convinced at least half the dislikes are people bitter & jealous over the massive success of these animations smooth animation, lovely art style, wonderful key poses, very expressive. Overtly comical with a solid moral lesson, done with no words; it needs no translation. The two years of work it took are on full display every frame, it is a masterpiece. I believe this animation symbolizes the greed of humans and how we want everything for ourselves but we end up destroying nature in the process and in the end we are left with nothing (most of the time)

I loved the part where the death king decides to give his crown to the double king, this shows that even death is not interested in matters of material goods and other futile things and that all he wanted was A civilized dinner with the other kings.
The thing Death cared most about was teaching the Double King that the crowns didn’t matter. He knew that, but he also knew Double King didn’t. He hoped he could show him what life was like without obsessing over crowns. But when the Double King rejected existing that way and lashed out, Death declared the effort pointless and could care less what happens to Double King from there on out, as he was deemed beyond saving.

I believe this animation symbolizes the greed of humans and how we want everything for ourselves but we end up destroying nature in the process and in the end we are left with nothing (most of the time)
The fact that it could’ve easily taken all the crowns without committing homicide really says something about the character
its that type of person in a video game that is just "i could ask you for that item without killing you but that would be too much work with the chance of you denying it but if i kill you i get it instantly"

Growing up is understanding the message of this video, and what a wonderfully crafted piece this is!
Nastaliga hits when I rewatched this for the last 5years in so long.
I loved the part where the death king decides to give his crown to the double king, this shows that even death is not interested in matters of material goods and other futile things and that all he wanted was A civilized dinner with the other kings.
The only confusing thing is that when the double king makes a napkin crown death takes it.. meaning that he had some interest in it
The thing Death cared most about was teaching the Double King that the crowns didn’t matter. He knew that, but he also knew Double King didn’t. He hoped he could show him what life was like without obsessing over crowns. But when the Double King rejected existing that way and lashed out, Death declared the effort pointless and could care less what happens to Double King from there on out, as he was deemed beyond saving.
@@Timetraveler2411 i like to think of it as the double king found someone greedier and more powerful than him but the king of death found someone far more obnoxious and just gave him the crown to silence his tantrum
