In the beginning they're cold and I think ironically, "Hey, just burn some wood!"
Oh crap, That got dark quick.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and asks the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer."
-Stick boy.
Still a stupid argument. People died for honor and many had honorable deaths. Honor is like religions and you give it its own meaning. Depending on your beliefs, you take it to your grave, whether or not there is life after death.
You cannot live forever, but if you can at least decide how you want to die, you better take it.
@@lucianorizzicura8933 are you arguing with a stick, bro?
Silence implies consent
honor matters a lot. Claiming death means it has not meaning is idiotic. Everyone dies eventually. Society gives to much praise to people who spout off nonsense.
Mass effect nice 👍🏿. In reality there is no honor in death. You live honorably up until your death. You don't die honorably you just die.
The would have all made it through the cold if they only burned a little. By the end there was a fire larger than anyone actually needed.
The will for one to survive e often overpowers logic. Hopefully you never have to see sch a situation.
@@theonlineanimal6009 some types of tree are more flamable than others
whitch
is a mechanic that also could have been included . . . but maby it isn't that important in this case
also, there were still matches, they could have lit one of the stumps on fire right?
Capitalism at it's finest.
Nope, that was only the first night and you can see from the video all them woods stopped burning before the sun rises. So one way or another, one of them have to burn the rest to survive =)
Moral: watch out for the little guy
Oh, I thought it's "burn the children first".
Wait what? The little guy literally avanged their death.
Hope youre joking, otherwise your response is just sad
Nope,more like strongest win:)
@@joe125ful Did you...you know...actually *watch* it??? It seems like you didn't. Let me break down the simple, surface level fact you seem to have missed.
The strongest one lost.
While we are fighting for smaller problems - we do not notice the bigger problem?
This is kinda similar to how politics usually works. If you want people not to pay attention to the root of the problem, create many minor ones for them to entertain them.
the bigger problem is why would stumps need to heat themselves. They are wood and would technically be dead either-way.
@@MrChickennugget360
Heh )
If you think about it literally, it makes no sense of course.
Perhaps not even more than the fact that wood has eyes to look, limbs to move, and mouth with teeth to... chew?..
What kind of food should wood eat to chew it? Hmmm...
Also, they must have a some type of nervous system to feel cold, at least.
But in this case, I suppose it is an allegory.
So this should push you, as a viewer, to think outside the boundaries of reality.
Think not about what you literraly saw, but about its context.
Everything that was described by me in my first post - is just my own thoughts, projection and interpretation of what I saw.
The lumberjack tells the white log and the brown log they have to burn each other to survive and then returns to clear cutting the forest.
The best part of this piece is the sound direction; how the "dialogue" was bending, creaking wood. I wonder what the creator's process was?
Dang! That was brutal!
Wow you got 69 likes nice
Yes?
Thats what you must look out for in survival situations like these:
To see which is the one that is the most willing to sacrifice others.
This one you must take out - fast, without warning and by any means.
If you do not - before you know it, it will be you and your loved ones turn to be sacrificed "for the good of the group" by him.
But wait . . . wouldn't that make YOU the one that is most willing to sacrifice others?
@@gewgulkansuhckitt9086 No I don't think so. Your just looking out for the ones that want to survive at the expense of everyone else. They act like everyone else till their survival instincts kick in.
@@justsomevideos1 Who needs life anyway? If I found myself in a situation where there was possibly or most likely no way to survive I’d just kill myself. Death seems much more interesting than life at this point. It’s like an adventure into the unknown……..
@@gewgulkansuhckitt9086 i know right? fucking hilarious all these people "This is the one you must take out- fast, without warning by any means" so in other words you.
Survival is done in small groups with trusted people. If you are alone and looking for a group to join, do not be surprised when you are the one led to the slaughter.
I like how the whole tragedy starts with the unprovoked horror of losing all their loved ones and community
Losing*
Loosing is what archers do
It was wholesome when they gave from themselves. As soon as they started taking from others, everything turned to ashes. _This says a lot about our society_
_We live in a society_
gamers rise up
Nope, it was doomed as soon as one of the log refused to give something.
@@docgonzobordel Exactly.
Sometimes fittest doesn't mean strongest and most powerful but most adapted to the situation
All the times not some of them. First lexicon definition of fittest still is "of a suitable quality, standard, or type to meet the required purpose". That's the one and only meaning in Darwin and evolutionary biology. Strength, never was the intended meaning,
@@lolitaras22 of course strength can be a factor but its never been the defining factor.
In D&D, it's the Dexterity modifier that matters, lol. But in all seriousness, the little stick was the only one to identify the log that would become a problem, yet had no power to stop the madness until only he and the problem log remained. However, unfortunately, because all the other logs had to burn before reason prevailed, the little stick no longer had the support they needed to stop the logger.
@@TarsonTalon Elon Musk twitted sometime ago about how much Tesla's stocks are irrationally inflated and a boy answered: "That's why I use you as an example, when people ask me why intelligence and wisdom are different attributes in DnD".
...that's what fittest always means...
I love the simple music
it's so strangely calming
Same
That little twigs bite was worse than it's bark.
Now imagine instead of logs these were all humans.
Trees play a beneficial role within our ecosystem...
Humanity on the other hand, do not... We have a parasitic relationship with our host / Earth.
I wouldn't shed a tear watching some people burn on a pyre of their own making.
@@jason4547 No, we are a part of this world whether for good or bad.
@@gailfox7 Well obviously !
... and imagine instead of a campfire that was the site of a plane crash in the Andes mountains
Чем больше теряешь тем больше приобретаешь
This so beautiful. I keep coming back to this and I don’t know why. Perhaps one or all of the logs are me or the battle of my humanity within this societal waste land of our own doing.
There is always someone greedy trying to have it all for themselves not caring about who's hurt or the kind of damage they inflict also the things we will do to survive death can be horrifying.
This could be a metaphor for generations honestly
Wow, this is very based and deep, and yet animated so poignantly
Well done!
Like it, now just need a Timber 2 that focuses more on luck & cooperation.
I mean, tbh, THIS is natural selection that favored cooperation. This population is finished. The population who survived remain.
@@am1na1996 There is in the literature something else under the term "cooperation", not withstanding for example this particular "incident".
Same as with any complex phenom there are going to be some "cases" that represent X principle, and some Y principle.
Well that escalated rather quickly!!
Reminds me of some apocolypse games I've been playing
Like Telltale's Walking Dead
not exactly "survival of the fittest" but a good short about not being a self-centered jerk.
Oh it was far far deeper than that.
Awesome art all the way around!!
That was as dark as I was hoping it would be.
Really you find wood burning dark
It's a type of cannibalism
But nobody ate each other. I figured it was more to kill your fellow race to save yourself from the inevitable destruction all while a chainsaw made a very important point...the logs were not the only one in this chain. That is what I got out of it.
This is still so good all these years later
Such is life, the struggle continues!
n this is how u get promoted at work, last man standing
Moral of the story: exploit everyone else but watch out for rebellion
Very true metaphor of our life in this world right now.
I don't...entirely understand what observation this is intending to make.
Humans fighting each other for survival is as primitive as trees burning their kind to keep warm, while somewhere out there or very nearby, a more advanced species can easily cut us down unless the whole forest band together.
@@vn88ttt well... It is indeed primitive. It is survival after all. As nature intended. We're not born the same nor we think the same, so it is not possible to always agree on everything. And if no one killed other people, overpopulation would be even worse and resources would even more scarce.
@@lucianorizzicura8933 ... or maybe the people who got to live instead of being killed off, figured out better ways of living. We are already an impossibility that is made possible only by finding new ways of providing our needs. The merest fraction of the Sun's energy falls on the Earth. The only limit to, well, anything is the available energy to make it happen. There's energy all around! Just a matter of putting it to positive use.
I don't... entirely understand why so many people want to assume their interpretation of what it meant to them is what it means as a whole. Probably part of why I'm skeptical of humans in general.
Beautiful. Well done.
To busy fighting each other instead of working together, and while we do it something else is going to wipe us out. Something we should've and can seen coming.
Damn. Dark.
Dark and very much to the point.
The real monsters are the humans cutting down all the trees.
That was short and to the point. I enjoyed it.
so this is how wild fires happen👁👄👁🔥🔥🔥
Ну им хотя бы было тепло на всю жизнь...
This says a lot of humanity .
I knew he would be the last standing
if I was one of them I'd say lets vote to put the bully in the fire first
Survival of the most fit isn't fair. We all know that without society. Your only vote comes from how well you can fight. There's no voting in survival
@@theonlineanimal6009 if everyone is against 1 then the fight would be easy

Wood amogus
lovely animation, wish there was a way to get the tones/ songs from this as well there were great!! amazing job well done though.
I don’t think this will make it to the classroom but damn this is very well done.
Moral of the story:
It’s ok to murder someone for warmth
Dark......and cold.
very under appreciated piece right here
A very "Mist" like ending there.
Though its kinda sad I love this short film.
Was not expecting any of that
Jeez this animation always sets my anxiety off something awful.
So many questions. Like, why are they cold if they're just made of wood? Why do they apparently have individuality when they are just parts sawn-off of full-sized trees? Why are all of them alive but the old log had a walking stick that wasn't? And why weren't the wooden matches alive? Are all those stumps still in the ground alive?
useless questions. This short film is simply a metaphor.
Reading the comments I realize most people would be tossed in the fire
Ahh, humanity how you disgust me. Throw anyone on the fire as long as you benefit, no matter how global the other issues are. Over and over and over again. Nicely and simply summarised. Well done.
I like the moral only the strong survive & the strongest might just be the weakest especially knowing your next to burn 🔥
Cooperation beats competition.
Damn, so harsh but so true
I just enjoyed the video.
the most fitting
nature is no better than humans
gotta do what u gotta do
wow !!!
Cool animation
I was sad the second it showed they were standing in a field of stumps.
Dear god this is painful
I definitely agree with you!
Relatable
Wow that was not only brutal but real
Expect for a lot carrying matches lol
Reminds me of “Don't Starve Together”
One log won't burn...
Two logs might burn...
Three logs makes a 🔥
In the end "There can be only one!"

Do you have a link for us? It should not be on Tik Tok actually.

I really like the music in this
Human (~Timber) nature - do anything to survive. Morality dies outside of society.
La violencia solo genera más violencia
Cierto
A
Your statement is disproven in reality and this short film. The little stick sees no more violence once he addressed the original perpetrator. Violence brought justice to the victims.
Reminds me of the Garbage Pail Kid card from long ago where the snowman was melting himself by warming himself by the fire.
Seth MacFarlane needs to hire this animator.
Ngl with those matches they could’ve burned those trees that were like 10-15 minutes away and all of them would have lived with the sacrifices of a few trees lol
YEAH self-clearing forests!
Dark !
Well, that escalated quickly. 😄
Well wood logs seems have really hard life:)
Build a man a fire and keep him warm for the night; set a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.
I love it
Look out for the one that is not willing to contribute the same little bit as everyone else and forces others to instead.
ashes to ashes, dust to dust..
idk what the message was here but DANG
So it starts off with burning dead wood then it's removing un usable parts of the body. then you got the one guy who refuses to contribute anything. then you got the guy who wants to remove a more vital part of someone's being so the big bullie starts to forcfully extort the little guy tries to fight him but get's knocked back. the old time who tries to stand up fro what's right get's thrown into the fire and so now we're burning each other and yet they still extort from the other guy and inur him. then the little guy tries to fight again and the big bully literaly tries to murder him now and when his friend laughs at him then he kills him and when the injured tries to fight he murderes him as well.
The Little guy wins in the end by using a piece of his old friend to confuse and atack the bully and knock him back into the fire and the bully is to heavy to be able to escape.
I see Symbolism here.
Holding onto the wise words of yesterday and moral and empathetic understanding as well as recognising evil when it's in your presences. in this case the guy whocan't bother to give any pieve of himself and those who would willingly hurt others for their own selfish gain and who would cast all good moral understanding aside just because they can or want to.
Nice
Самое гениальное творение но помойму этому мультику более пары лет
So I guess this is telling us that the meek will inherit the earth?
The moral: our belief that we control, or are in control of life is only an illusion. We are only in control of the choices we make but never the path those choices may lead.
Our existence is but for All that which is possible, All that which Is, the UnKnown, to work itself out and in us by the choices we make, good or evil.Again anything else is just illsusion.
Survival of the luckiest ...
Make a part two where the little stick tricks others so he can keep warm.

Great animation good storyline, but it anti forestry view is not appreciated.
There was no anti forestry in this. That was your observation. I interpreted it as survival of the fittest, and then something else comes along. Like dog eat dog.
wow...
Ok... They could feel the cold to the point that they were shivering. Yet once on fire they never once screamed, as if the fire wasn't hot enough to catch them on fire. Or am I just looking to make this darker than it needed to be?
