  • There's so much to learn when you dive into two similar competing vehicles. It's a great time to acknowledge how there are so many great vehicles on the market today.
I wanted to compare these two similar trims/models of the Mazda6 Touring and Accord Sport. The Mazda6 is continuing to move to more premium features which allows for a more option-filled interior, however the Honda Accord definitely wins for outside appearance.
I try to prepare by researching some specifics on both, and sometimes my memory fails or I'm unable to find the exact information. The main comparisons I outline in the video are listed below:
    Mazda6 Accord
    Engine 2.5L 4cyl 1.5L Turbo 4 cyl
    Transmission 6-spd Auto CVT
    Horspower 186 192
    0 to 60 7.4 sec 7.2 sec
Trunk Space 14.7 cu ft 16.7 cu ft
    Fuel Econ 26 City/35 Hwy 26 City/35 Hwy
Fuel Tank 16.4 gal 14.8 gal

Mazda - Better design, better engine, better interior, better transmision, probably better handling. For my taste of course. And since the Mazda is already 7 years old despite the facelifts you can imagine how Mazda approached his cars. I have Mazda 6 (2016) and i love it so much.

@@JSS actually if the rumors are true for straight 6 and back wheel drive it will be 3/5 series alternative. But i`m afraid it will be do pricey. So far i can imagine Mazda with back wheel drive...it will be very nice. I will buy :) Mazda feel that they need to separate from Camry, Accord and other front wheel drive cars. Front wheel drive is for SUV`s and small cars nowadays....midsize sedans can go sportier.

I'm still undecided, I test drive both of them. The Honda I feel is more powerful and more a little relaxing to drive. The mazda feels more like a car that wants you to step on it on tight roads as it just glides right through effortlessly. But the interior room is more tight and it cost a little more. They both are great cars. I'm leaning on the Honda because of the price and room.

    • @JSS

Interior front room is similar. It really depends on what features matter to you. The Mazda6 has better driving experience to me right from take off. The Honda is a little sluggish because of the CVT.

It was a good review, however @11:59 you mentioned that the Accord "must not have sequential shift on the CVT". It does. While the gearshift is in the D position, you can upshift or downshift with the paddles and it will choose virtual gears. It will return to normal mode automatically. However, when you press the Sport button behind the gearshift, it will stay in sport mode until you use the paddle shifters at which time it will go into manual sport mode and hold the gear you put it in. I have a 2018 Honda Accord Touring myself but at one point the Mazda 6 was on my radar. The previous owner of this Accord really put some tacky add-ons to it.

The Honda looks like it was involved in an accident that damaged the driver's door side of the car and around to the front. No way that the finish of the trim near the side mirror was factory done on that side and there appears to be a buckle around the kick sill on the same door. I would say it had a good hit on the driver's door side of the car and I would be highly suspicious of another dodgy repair of the front grill where it is bubbling up from what you showed. He also has had the center console apart at some point as well to replace the color of the ebrake button. Who knows what else he did in there or what trim he broke. Add all the boy racer stuff on it and I'd say he Tokyo drifted it into a pole. That could explain why such a low mileage car was traded in. Given the tacky interior add on's you can also bet it had a cold air intake on it at some point and quite possibly a dodgy car tune before he took it back to the factory setup for the trade-in. That all aside, the Honda is using cheaper grade plastics and trim and isn't even in the race with the Mazda for quality. CVT is the final mark against the Honda. As for this particular car. I know you took it as a trade-in, but I hope you did send it to the auction. No customer deserves to get that car as it's hiding some secrets of a short, but hard life.

There are a few things that steer me away from the Mazda. For one the design is a little too stale for me. The front end looks amazing but that's about it. Secondly, the 6 just feels a little too cramped. I wish mazda would give us more room in their sedans. I like the accord's interior design but Mazda's materials look and feel so much better than the soft touch plastic Honda gives us. Howeved, Honda gives us a good amount of tech that is actually well implemented throughout the cabin that leaves you satisfied. And lastly the accord out handles the 6 by a larger margin than you'd think and the accord puts down it's power better. Especially with that buttery smooth 10 spd auto that always knows what gear it should be in. Kudos to Honda for giving us best in class driving dynamics. If you want something that feels luxurious, get the 6. Want something that's roomier and sporty, get the accord. I honestly can't wait for the next generation 6 however. I really hope Mazda improves in every area they need to and doesn't remain complacent like they are with the 6.

I’ve driven both and have the Mazda the accord is not sportier, the Mazda handles waaaay Better than the accord the only thing the accord has on this is a little tech a car length of distance in a drag race better tuning potential some more room and better fuel economy. The accord isn’t even that much faster I raced one 0-110 mph and the whole time the accord was only like 8ft ahead of me it was the 2.0T sport vs my 2.5T signature on 91 octane

    • @kyron2092
      @kyron2092 3 роки тому +1

@@brynnleahnayvieghlaykynnn6175 eh, I think your getting steering feel confused with handling sir. The mazda does have slightly more steering feel than the accord. But where the accord kicks back is in how it's suspension is tuned and how quick its steering is. It's a flatter car with less body roll. It's a car that's more compliant in the corners with better turn in. The 6 does have slightly better steering feel, but the accord's suspension is in another league when it comes to handling. Though the Mazda's suspension is definitely comfortable. The accord hits 0-60 in 5.4 sec with the mazda around 6. Even at higher speeds, it's a little difficult for the 6 to keep up. Frankly it's can't keep up but it isn't far off.

Also the 6 doesn’t unlock its full power potential until like 5000 miles so just tests on the 6 aren’t as accurate. And I’ve raced several accord 2.0T even raced one from 90-135 and the Mazda keeps up easily the accord dos pull away very slowly though
