      I wasn't in the market for a mid-size sedan necessarily--I was in the market for a *hybrid*, for this reason. Test drove four different cars and ended up dithering between the cheapest and most expensive of the lot: the hybrid Corolla and the hybrid Sonata. The Corolla felt more downmarket, not a lot of room in back, but it just had a great road feel, the most fun to drive of the four. But while I was dithering, another buyer snapped up the only hybrid Corolla on the lot. So I went with the Sonata hybrid, which is a fantastic car. I think it actually had the worst fuel mileage of the four because it was the biggest car, but I still get just a hair under 50 MPG most of the time. The car guys are not gonna like that one, though--the internal combustion engine is smaller than the regular Sonata's, though the electric motor is helping to push from a standing start.

      The other cars in this video have gotten nicer but none of them have the same "hand sculpted/crafted" look to them inside and out like the 6 has. IMO the other 3 (and the KIA K5) look like ugly cybernetic bugs in the face, their design's have only been out like 3-4 years and are already ageing poorly. They just look like their trying to hard to be "futuristic" and that's exactly why Honda toned down the look on the new Civic to not look like a failed science experiment, or something a 16 year old designed in his CAD class like the last generation Civic did...

      i'm 6'8", and i geniunely can't fit in the accord, which is ridiculous considering how large it is. i fit in my dad's 2013 accord no problem. the issue is that they just don't allow the seat to move very far back. when it's as far as it can go, there's still a ton of backseat room. because of this, i fit better in much smaller sedans, such as the Mercedes CLA and Audi A3 because they allow the front seats to move as far back as you'd like. this issue exists in a recent nissan altima rental i had as well.
      So for truly tall people that want a sedan, you're pretty much forced to go German.

    • @Kraziiboi
      @Kraziiboi 2 роки тому +1

      @@wl2486 I can see being that tall would be very challenging to find a car you can fit in. I know a lot of people tend to move to a SUV or larger vehicle rather than a sadan just because they are forced to. It would depend on the shape of your body too. I'm more torso than legs so I don't have a problem with hoe far back the seat goes. That is why I also really appreciate the accord because it sits much lower in the car versus others so you really feel like you sit in it. This allows me to have ample head room while not having to lean the seat back so far I can't reach the steering wheel comfortably.

    If the Accord was a 2.0T, It will be on the 1st position, Mazda6 is a great car, but its starting to age now, TRD Camry's looks great for what it is, but as far as I know, it's tuned to be efficient rather than performance and the transmission tends to stay in top gears. @@davidcazares7441 Who knows at this point. Mazda is intending to fill the gap between mainstream and luxury. Mazda might still price it within the pricing it has now. One way it’s doing that is making it’s cars fractionally smaller than its competition. Or they might have different methods of manufacturing that could cut down costs. However, Mazda is currently going down the same road as Toyota did with Lexus and making a car that is significantly less expensive than its competitors. One day, Mazda will be a premium competitor.

      Mazda is slowing Turing into a Luxury company. The interiors are getting nicer every year and the price is only going up. I’m really sad they are discontinuing the 6. They have a chance to rip at Honda, Toyota, BMW, and other companies with how nice the sedans are.

    Purchased a 2022 Sonata May-2022. Put on 20k miles in a year, noting I have a 58-mile daily RT for work. I absolutely adore my Sonata. GREAT mileage, very comfortable, fairly quick. Tad bit "jerky" in braking and acceleration; as noted in the video. I really like the catfish front-end, some people don't like it. About the only downside ? It's difficult to tell where the side and nose of the car are. Meaning while the car is very easy to drive and park; in a way parking can be slightly cumbersome. Up real close, it's just tough to tell where the sides of the car are as you're parking. Other than this tidbit, absolutely GREAT car and quite the bargain. If it matters, I have the "SEL" version.

      @@misk.421 All still pretty much the same as three months ago. Flat out GREAT car. I'm getting excellent mileage in-town, but I stress that is on in-town freeways. Meaning across Phoenix, half with traffic and half pretty much devoid of traffic. The car is rated at 27-City and 37-Highway, and I'd say that's about right. In-town it's 25-28, and on the freeway to/from Phx to Prescott at roughly 75 mph (ranging from 65 to 85), it's about 37 mpg. Now, in-town on the freeways, averaging 60-70, it's getting 40-42 mpg. But, that's about the best scenario. As before, I will say it's a bit difficult to see the sides, nose, and tail of the car. At least compared to my prior Sonata (a 2013), which did not have that minor issue. Awesome, awesome car all around, I just love it. Let's see. One other minor tidbit that's a bit annoying. All the warning bells, whistles, oddball sounds. They are all safety features, but they can be annoying.

      @@filetofish7688 I am certain you will like it. I'm not big on the hybrid action in that the SEL itself gets excellent mileage. This stated, the hybrid would likely do even better.
      The SEL is rated at 27/37, and that's about right. I get anywhere from 25-40 as a general statement. The freeway 40mpg is at 75-80mph, generally with the AC on. I have driven on the freeways when it was really quiet at a constant 55mph, and it gets a staggering 55mpg at that speed. More realistically, it's about 45 mpg at 65 mph, falling to 40 at 75-80, then 37mpg or so at 85mph. Take care.
