Excellent. What a great idea and wonderful to see the little 0-4-0 locos proudly chuffing along together. I have two blue variants and you have given me ideas. 😊👍
Another successful experiment rom the workshops of Mr. Snooze. The running of both trains did have an hypnotic effect, very relaxing. Hope you are well. Regards, David.
Thanks for watching this David, When ever I get back to the layout I shall have some fun with these again. I hope you are ready for your cold temperatures. Best regards to you
Great job.... Fitting a plug between the two small locos is a really good idea? We often "Double head"two of these together, for better adhesion and running through points, but actually wiring them together is much smoother, as neither motor falters at all.. Brilliant move !! The load that they are able to haul is really quite amazing. They seem to be capable of running at a slower speed than would be possible, if they were just simply coupled together too? A very enjoyable video. Thank you..
Thanks for watching this. To get smooth slow running was precisely why I wired these together and it does work well. I might experiment making a wagon with pickups to try. All the best to you
Great video thanks for sharing, I've got a pair of Caledonian pugs pulling 3 long Caledonian coaches & my class 20 I use my converter wagon to couple up my other Triang wagons J
What an excellent idea. Some older Triang locos already have couplings connected to one side of the chassis, resulting in spark displays if they're the wrong way round.
It's OK, to face in different directions, if the couplers are mounted on plastic? If they are screwed directly to the chassis, a short through the coupler may occur, when or if a loco is turned around with it's pick-ups on the opposite side? I hope that your plug is not "reversible"? If it is, it might pay to put a dot of paint on it to keep the polarity correct when joining these (or any other) locos together?
I’ve tried double heading 0-4-0’s but if Found a difficulty matching rpm and Ended up using a dummy with no Motor - were these 2 compatible or did you have to change worm or drive gear?
Thanks for watching, both of these have the same gearing and motors so they seemed to match up pretty well, I had fun running them. Best regards to you
Snooze. Hmm: There is still something a little unsatisfying about needing two locos for the performance of one. The girls around here have a bumper sticker: 'When all else fails _Hug your teddy!' It is a bit like that. Except that with us it would be our said Golden Retrievers. Now where DID I put those Peppermints! Yours Troublesomely: Pete
I wanted to experiment coupling these electrically to see if the extra pickups smoothed out the diamonds, I think they handled the dead spots well. I might add pickups to a wagon next then I could just use one loco. Take care, all the best to you
@@MrSnooze Yes: nothing like your experiments to get me thinking. It's a personal thing I suppose, but it is a bit unlucky having the appearance of a loco destroyed by a 'dummy' wagon or by credibility stretching double heading. And then no one has solved the conduit problem. To find a really disappointing example find an image of Marklin's PA 1 A unit free standing. There is a cable coming out the back, and on the end of that is a huge electrical connection. Other than that the locos is a stunner. That is some bumper sticker! I'm actually half way through writing a few ideas, but one thing I totally missed was putting a Marklin centre-rail skate under the chassis (room???). I included this link in my letter; perhaps others might enjoy ua-cam.com/video/nqidF_FGkvA/v-deo.html (I wonder why that didn't go blue?) All the best mate; keep encouraging people.

I hope you give it a try, joining them electrically seems to work really well. All the best to you
What a lovely running session great to see the two 040s coupled together also lovely to see the class 20 running thanks Patrick Quinn IRL
I'm glad you enjoyed this Patrick, thanks for watching
Great to see those two little engines working so well together.
I was happy how they behaved together. All the best to you
Very cool running session.
Those little Industrial Tank Engines really are fun to run.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, they do run well together. All the best to you
just a thank you for sharing nice to see them running so well
Thanks for looking, take care
The out of Sync. Conn. rods draw the eye😁👏👏👍👍
It's supposed to induce a special hypnosis, you are now under my control .......

The converter wagons are very useful to have. Best regards to you
Lovely!
Thank you, take care
What an excellent idea. Some older Triang locos already have couplings connected to one side of the chassis, resulting in spark displays if they're the wrong way round.
Interesting, that had not occurred to me. Best not to double head with one loco reversed. Best regards to you

I think facing them in different directions would be problematic. I will just keep them as they are for now. All the best to you
I remember them taking quite a few revolutions before they "warmed up" to optimum performance accompanied by that savoury smell.
Yes, they always need a bit of running to get to best operating speed. All the best to you
Great looking train, Mr Snooze. Is the chrome dome a separate attachment of a modified body moulding?
Hornby added the dome to the R.455, it is located with a lug. Best regards to you
I would happily settle for 1973 quality today if I only had to pay 1973 prices.
Thanks for looking, I think super detail is what a lot of people like but I'm with you. Best regards to you
