What a stunning layout this is. The detail is brilliant. I could watch this over and over and still find things I did not see before. I loved the lady in the out house.
I love the fact that anything goes. Steamers with modern diesels and switchers. Old towns and businesses with new sections. Lots of fun!
Happy to see that several of my chemical plants and the winery are still on the layout, after about 40 years! Greg - member from1975 to 1988
Hey Greg ,
I too was a member from 1975 to 1988 .. and I remember you ..
I was part of the electrical crew .. and I believe you should remember Van Faco ..
Wayne
I remember Van well, and Arie Korporaal, Bill Chappelle, Larry Reed@@waynebarnhart7294
And... I still have the Wood Alcohol plant that you once gave me! How are you Greg!!
nomatter how many times I watch , I find more intricate details in every scenery
and the obviously never ending stream of ideas of the creators of this layout
absolutely stunning
I like the theater marquee with the layout name on it "Gorre & Daphetid" Nice touch!
The late John Allen was a pioneer of model railroading. His legendary layout was the “ Goree and Daphetid” railroad. Google it for more info
The best US-layout that I have ever seen. A great video
Thanks for presentation, from Germany
Thank you very much!
What an incredible layout! I laughed at the College of Carnal Desires!!!
Absolutely unbelievable. I particularly liked the sawmill. A carpenter from Germany
Thank you very much!
Beautiful layout big with lots of action both steam and diesel
Choo! Choo! Here I come!!
A huge number of trains: freight and passenger, excellent panoramic shots, life in all its manifestations. the author's painstaking but successful work. I always watch your videos with interest. Thank you very much
Beautiful town scenery and details. Nicely done ✅ the city skyline appears to go on for miles and miles.
Very Nice !
Need for life, let me say this word three times. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Enjoyed every video shoot of the layout.
Thank you so much!!!
this layout is a jewel!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩👍
Especially like the reference to 3 of the great HO railroad modelers of years gone by @ 1:42

Hello... I'm a long time member of the Highland Pacific. Thank you for featuring our club. If you are interested, you can keep tabs on my UA-cam channel for layout updates as we continue to build and re-do areas that need it. Thanks again, great video of the small details!!
Thank you so much!

1:43 - "Gore & Daphetid"! Love it!
amazing 👍🍀💯
Очень понравилось. Макет красивый и много достоверности в деталях. Одними словом молодцы, спасибо.😊🎉
great layout, thank you for sharing, and thank you for understanding that modelers come for the models.. not to listen to endless chatter from the videographer. Really appreciate that part. ;). liked the peek into the engine house and the old out of production box cab diesels from MDC and the bowker.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Also luv the RDC budd cars...................
Another cool layout with more great shooting. Thanks.
Rather intrigued by the early UK LCC Bedford ambulance. Must have been one hell of a blue light run. 😂
Beautifully filmed. Great Job! This is a awesome layout with a bit of everything, I very much enjoyed it.
Thank you very much!
Absoluty Awsome Lay Out Nice Work Two Thumbs Up !!!!!!!!!
It's totally awesome. A lot of work to details. We'll done!!!
This is amazing!
I want to live there!
Love the RJ Frost I have one on my layout as well as Stephens Grocery Distributer (Which I know is different then yours).
Спасибо за доставленое удовольствие! Много красивых прочих мест и это мне очень нравится! 😊
Huh. I was struck by the idea that this might be the first time I've seen a train that hasn't been vandalized by some talent-less dummies graffiti. I'm glad they didn't try to recreate trains to be THAT realistic.
Well you can actually buy cars that already have graffiti on them
Awesome!!!!!!!! Love it! With so many trains!!!
great layout 👍
Another great one, thank you... Nice work.
This is an excellent layout with both cities and nature. Thank you for your hard work 🙏
niezla makieta , dzieki za filmik 👍

Fantastic!
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Truly a joy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a spectacle to sooth the spirit within ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Neat job
Beautiful, regards from Austria 🙂
Thank you very much!
WOW!
Great Video but why do trains and restaurants need Muzak?
This layout is AMAZING and for once the camera person is going slow enough so that we can see things. GREAT JOB!
Pulled me in a couple of times
Nice train layout. What train station kit did you use at 22:15 ? Really nice looking train depot.
Great Layot the only thing I have a problem with is Steam Locomotives and old vehicles this is 2024 Not 1924 so you should only run Diesels if you want it to be really realistic.
Has anyone figured out approximately how many scale square miles of track and display is present? Out standing 😊
Hello... I'm a long time member of the Highland Pacific. If you were HO scale sized person and walked the mainline only, the trip would be 15 miles. We exaggerate our scale to 150 miles for the story of the layout. We use compression to express the distance between towns. We have not counted all the track in all the towns, or passing sidings, but it would be huge.
@@DesertCharleyVideos ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the trackage installation is amazing ,,,the switch tracks or interlocking is outstanding realistic..........................
stümperhafte verarbeitung
I'm dying to know what the back story is concerning the N scale (?) Big Boy on the flat car. That's an intriguing one.
This is a beautiful layout. The depth of detail and the smooth continuity of cultural features are mind boggling. I can't imagine the amount of coordination and teamwork it must have taken to pull this magnificent layout off. Really impressive!
Hello... I'm a long time member of the Highland Pacific. The Big Boy on the flatcar was a representation of a giant live steamer scale model being shipped. The N Scale town in the mountains only works when you view it from the floor level, not from above. It gives a sense of false perspective in the little space we have. The area is serviced by narrow gauge trains, and as a result they look super huge, but it's a trade off we like in our laid back club! :)
@@DesertCharleyVideos ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cool.................................................................................................................
the extent of my knowledge regarding trains is they ride on tracks and that's about it. however like many, if not most folks i've always been fascinated by trains and hence i watch a good share of model train videos. now i understand i'm watching vids of models, but i assume that with the amount of work put into the layouts, the good folk building and operating them probably stick relatively close to real world scenarios which brings me to a question. i've noticed that on older steam powered passenger trains there is never more than one locomotive pulling the cars, but when it's a newer model diesel/electric passenger train there are almost always more than a single locomotive, even with the number of passenger cars being the same between the two. is there a reason for this? appreciate any one willing to clarify this for me. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all!1!!
Does anyone know who makes those houses that are shown from 3:10 onwards? Been looking for some for my layout
At 1.15 there is, sandwiched between 2 SP engines, a SP breaking sledge. Anyone who can tell me more about that? Brand? Custom made? Ready to sell? Greetings from Belgium.
Are you located in Highland Park Illinois?

Why are steam engines not still used today? A steam engine has more puling power than a Diesel Electric.

Out of control and bizarre.
2:14 Very unrealistic. Hobbyist need to get out and view the real life scenery of Freight trains.
