Such valuable pearls of wisdom. I view myself as someone who strives to "look on the bright side of life", not always easy. Adjusting the sails! So wise.
Nice job on the video! Personally, I really enjoy self-reflection and personal stories like this. I can tell you're starting to play with synchronizing the visuals with your narration, which is very helpful and lovely for telling a fully fleshed-out story. I've never done anything like that, but I suspect it can be tricky to get the timing right. I'm sure there are tricks-of-the-trade that reduce the complexity. It might help to occasionally refer directly to the background visuals, like "This is Rue XYZ in Perpignan" or "Here, I've just stopped and am walking in Shangri-La". Good luck with everything and I look forward to seeing your new creations!
Thank you. Sounds like more of a tour/blog style. I'm working to figure out how I might be able do do some videos like that. I fear people want this but if I do it it might not translate with my style. Stay tuned.🙂
Wonderful video Patricia. I enjoyed the walk, as well as the road. It's nice to see the roads and highways in and around your area. I love your blouse!
Thank you. There is something hypnotic about these drive alongs, I think. I got this blouse in my last search for spring/summer clothes. And I found it in France.
You are right. Life is about to learn how to adapt your mind to all things that could challenge you. Merci et Bonne continuation dans votre nouvelle vie en France.
Boy did this hit home for me! 😅So many valuable gems of wisdom in this video, thank you Patricia! I definitely love the style of content and would love to see more of this in addition to the interviews you do with expats And just sharing your life as an expat yourself and your day-to-day experiences.
Actually more curious about how the French feel about Le Pen- we love France and have gotten looks or comments because of our race but it really was from the Brits and some catty women. You find that here, sadly to be found anywhere. Oh! And you’ve changed our minds on Perpignan! I don’t want those Santa Ana CA winds😮. We’ll be looking this fall more inland, I think. Sorry for rambling, just had my coffee but I do enjoy your videos❤
I can't answer your first quasi question. Obviously, some like her. I'm sorry and happy to have shared how strong the winds can be in Perpignan and the surrounding areas. it's good to know about it so you aren't surprised like I was. Best wishes.
I'm curious. Do you deal with racism in France? Also, do you have concerns with the potential political changes in France because of the rise of the far right party under Le Pen? How will that effect you if she gains more power? I think about moving to France, but I don't want to deal with blatant hatred.
Hi, I didn't expect to experience racism here and I haven't experienced it directly. Though it does exist. The changing political landscape does not make me happy, but I'm not concerned. One law that has changed that affects me is the increased language level required to apply for French citizenship (from B1 to B2 level). While I will pass the test at a B2 level, that means I have to take it again before applying.
I’m à french citizen from African descent and i’ve lived in the US and the UK before. As for France is concerned don’t be afraid to come out here! The French are like any other people. They just want people to respect their country it’s as simple as that. Patricia is the perfect example of what the French expect from immigrants. She’s into the country adjusting to the culture learning the language. Le Pen won’t change anything for People like Patricia but it’ll change for People who just dont respect the country. If you ever move out here just avoid Paris is a shithole!!
Adjusting the sails is an idea that has allowed me to live a more peace-filled life. What saying or motto has help you navigate life more easily?
You are very right. Adjusting the sail makes a whole lot of difference.
Indeed! Thanks for watching.
Excellent synopsis about life -thanks Patricia.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

Glad you liked this. Will see how I can add some of my day-to-day, though I don't think it would be that interesting.
I love your perspective.
