    I was homeless for 4 years back when I was 18-22. I’m 27 now, almost 28, and honestly everyday the fear of it happening again haunts me so bad that leaving my apartment triggers panic attacks and sometimes I just wish I’d be homeless again solely so I could stop fearing it happening again. You are far from a loser so I hope you never believe your father or anyone else that ever says that to you. I think your attitude and the way you’re handling the situation is far better than most people (including me) have handled it. I really really wish you luck. I’m hoping sometime in the future I can just do longterm camping if I could get myself a little camper van or a nice sturdy tent since rent is too expensive.

      Hey there. I’m sorry to hear about what you’re going through. I have suffered from panic attacks since I was 5. What has helped me is eating healthy, exercising, and being mindful in my days. All we can do is live one day at a time. I hope you can get a van in the near future. I agree rent is too expensive nowadays. Blessings to you. 🙏

    People are horrible with nasty comments. I feel for you. You had it tough being on your own since 16. Very difficult to make things happen without parents help/love. There are jobs out there but they don't pay well. I remember in the 90's you could get a decent paying job and live the so-called "American Dream" that is not the case in 2023. Keep fighting!

Waking up to seeing you means everything! I work in a hospital and they often need people to transport patients or to run labs or work in the kitchen or warehouse. So many jobs available for just general workers and you get benefits from day one. Try hospitals - just ask.

    I'm sorry you had to learn this lesson about Title loans, you are right they should be illegal. You would also think that with all the money being spent on the homeless benefits would not be so hard to come by. Unfortunately that is not the case. Good to hear you were able to get the final number on your loan down and I hope you can put that behind you. Keep fighting and filling your mind with positive lessons. It really helps. I think part of the problem is that kids at 18 feel pressured to get out on their own before they are ready. In other countries multi generational living is what’s done but in our county it’s seen as shameful. I think more people lived with there families we wouldn’t see the homes less problem. The young and elderly are the ones most effected. It’s sad! Families should uplift each other.

      I’ve always disagreed with this thought up until recently. Now I understand it and agree. Kids don’t ask to be born, therefore parents need to do everything in their power to prepare them for life, even in adulthood. Because I think so many parents have honestly failed their children and that’s why so many people leave as early as they can. For example, some parents threaten to kick you out for the dumbest reasons. Or some will think they have a right to disrespect you since you live in their house.

    • @chucky6367
      @chucky6367 Рік тому

      The kids there are sent away to college to live though, so they're basically out on their own at 18 anyway. How many of them come back to live at home when they're finished?

    • @jenettejackson991
      @jenettejackson991 Рік тому +1

      @@chucky6367 Not always . Some kids have to pay for their college and are just put out at 18. I haven’t lived at home since 13.5 . So I guess different for everyone. College supported by your parents isn’t the same thing that I am talking about.

    Hi Tyler, Happy Monday! Im so grateful for how far you've come and your determined spirit. Have you considered doing an expose video detailing the actual impact of the loan itself for anyone ever feeling the need to get one. If people realized that it really is a legal loan shark and there is no way to recover from it without outside help, it would maybe slow people down from becoming their next victim. I think the video would gain a lot of traction! Please consider it.

    Hi Tyler, I'm sooo glad to hear about your success in persuading the loan company to work with you, and good luck with your job search. If things continue go left for you in the future, please consider speaking with a bankruptcy attorney. At least, it will protect your van from repossession. Since the eviction will probably effect your credit for several years, what will be the difference with not being able to have credit extended to you due to banruptcy for the same amount of time? This way, you can work with the peace of mind of not facing homelessness. Best of luck to you!

    One more thing. I just read your Gofundme appeal and I think it's crucial that you find someone with automotive knowledge to help you buy your next van. It will take more than lower mileage to get a better engine. Yeah, those little roadside car lots can be brutal. You stand a much lower chance of being cheated if you bring someone who can ask all the right questions and who knows what he's (or she's) looking at under the hood! 💖

    56 hours is a lot! People don’t talk about working for yourself much but it’s really easy! For example someone wanted to open a trash bin cleaning business! These new neighborhoods all have trash bins and most of them stink! All you need is a pressure washer and the cleaner! Slap a llc on it and you are opened up to 30,000 pages of tax deductions! Most start up costs are tax deductible and your vehicle expenses if used primarily for business! 😉 You charge 30 dollars a trash bin doing 5 a day at least, that’s 150 a day you do 10 that’s 300 a day! Doing 5 a day 5 days a week is 750 dollars doing 10 a day 5 days a week is 1500 dollars a week! Each trash bin would only take 20 mins to clean! You work less and you make your own rules! Beat the system don’t let it beat you! Im not a bot just wanted to give you some information that people don’t really share once they figure it out for themselves! Sending many positive thoughts your way! You got this! ❤❤❤

    What I've learned is that most homeless have suffered great trauma, sexual at a young age is not uncommon. Of course there's other forms too. Some are our beloved military who suffered trauma at war. Agent orange it seems was a poison used on our soldiers causing various cancers and neurological damage.

    Tyler, it might be better for your mental health if you don't contact your dad for awhile. He's apparently not able to give you any moral support, or even kind words, so just let that relationship rest for now. It uses up energy that you could use on more urgent survival things. You've done a great job getting your van repairs financed - that stuff is SO stressful! A few pointers from a grandma with no extra money, ever: buy everything as cheaply as possible (the $1 toothpaste will have to do); for two weeks, don't buy ANYTHING that's not crucial to your survival - no new books, how about the library? No "treat" foods or fancy coffees! Deprive yourself of luxuries that might make you feel good, but would not help you in the long run.
    The point of this is that you will be amazed by how much money you can set aside! I have to do this for a week or two every month and it really helps me survive. I so wish I could donate some money, because you deserve it, but I'm not able to. That's one of the worst parts of my own situation, because when I was a young working person I always loved sending donations to various causes. Take care, honey.😊💖🐕
