Micah McElhaney I had actually nearly mistook Magni for Thor because he shared the same power as his father and wielded a weapon that could have easily be mistaken for the way Mjolnir is depicted as an axe at times, but with a modern twist in the game. Magni was actually the only Norse God that could actually lift mjolnir without the need for his fathers bracers. His size somewhat gave him away compared to his brother in the game but he was actually supposed to be MUCH larger than they depict in this game because he is half Jotunn and wasn’t the son of Sif but Járnsaxa, a giantess of Jotunheim.
I'd love that but it'd be out of order chronologically. Egyptians had their pantheon way before the Greeks were around and Norse were way after the Greeks.
I don't care what anyone says, I love this game, just like I love every other game in the series. Good story, great character design, and a wealth of possibilities.
After all the violence and vengeance kratos sought upon it is finally great to see that he passes on new values to his son who he's teaching to not only survive but be a better person, a better god than he once was. Kratos truly shows as a god, warrior, and father he truly is wise and virtuous.
I feel for him. Going so long without emotions and pain would warp your view of everything. He can't even fully express the sense of lose because it was taken from him. Decades trapped behind a metaphysical wall the prevented him from connecting with the world around him. Add to that God like power and you have a man with issues but somewhat tragic like Kratos himself.
To answer all the speculation about atreus being loki. Loki is a common name for giants and even if he was Loki (the trickster god) the world serpent told Atreus that he seemed familiar. Because if Atreus is Loki the father Jörmungandr (the world serpent) , Fenrir and Hel. The world serpent says that Atreus seems familiar to him, that is because it sees his father in atreus. To further state the world serpent is able to go back through time after (or before) Ragnarok even before his birth which explains how he's here when Atreus (Loki) is a boy. So the world serpent in this game is from the future still surrounding Midgard where he is until Ragnarok begins.
@@65firered Farbauti also means "cruel striker" so maybe it was never meant to be literal, but that fits Kratos pretty well, at least in the earlier games.
Just replayed the original trilogy and I know now what's missing. The quick time events, I loved having to rapidly perform button combos while getting glorious over the top action and killing sequences. The bosses were also less linear in fighting style

Masterpiece! I have played every God of War ever made, I am 46 years old and because of Kratos i will never stop gaming. Would like to see a movie before i die though.
Yeah, in the old myth Baldur was basically immortal because his mother, who was Frigg, made it so everything out there couldn't hurt him, except for mistletoe. It was actually Loki that exploited that and made sure he was killed in that myth.
thebeav PercabethFTW kudos for you to tell us here. Just remember that this game just loose adaptation so as a disclaimer, every confusion you has is part of Creative decision.
So on the drawings on the wall it shows Loki(Atticus) holding a dead/dying Kratos, I think that that will spark Loki to go down a different path that would eventually lead to Ragnarok
TheMaker kratos decides his own fate because the drawing fortold artreus/loki’s story and not the one of kratos so im not really seeing him die (bad english)

This is not the canon God of War. It's more like "Dad of War". If the graphics of this game is not well polished. I don't know if someone's going to play it. In this game they make kratos dumb compare to the old Kratos who is wise and intelligent.
@@christianlloyd9739 Let me get this straight. The graphics are not well polished, you don't think anyone wanted to play the game, and Kratos is now dumber than the vengeance/rage driven maniac of previous games? I don't actually think you could have possibly been more incorrect with your entire evaluation. Or you're just a troll casting out bait to get some random fan of the game all worked up.
@@jordankmetz3233 This god of war is for kids. Like you . If you play the canon series of GoW you'll realize that this GoW is lame and PGish. Less gore and mostly no s*x gameplay haha
@@christianlloyd9739 Honestly, the sex mini-games were easily the most cringey and least mature part of the entire God of War series, in addition to making it seem like Kratos can only last about 30 seconds. Like, do you think that a man mourning his dead wife while trying to raise his ill and also mourning son is going to stop off to screw some random lady (or laddie; Kratos *is* a Spartan, after all) he runs into, even if it would only take him half a minute? Also, this game has plenty of gore, it just feels a lot less gratuitous in this game, IMO.
He can't die, but not invincible. Kratos pretty much defeat him twice before manage to kill him. Is just that if Greek era Kratos fight Baldur, Kratos can go completely insane all out and defeat Baldur much faster
@@shawziiz5031 People need to realise this Kratos is still pretty fucking powerful, maybe not at his peak, but the power that boosted him in the earlier games, the ones that made him unable to die (hope), is still going strong. He's not especially weaker than before...
@@mikkel123sej It's not even that this isn't Kratos at his peak, it's that this isn't even his final form. Kratos spent years honing his rage and sparing creatures rather than killing them. This Kratos is actually more powerful than the old Kratos, MUCH more powerful. . . .But, we haven't even really seen the extent of his powers here.
@Aaron9 If you had just stopped your question at "How? He can't die," then you would have been all right. Did tacking "You stupid fuck" on the end make you feel like a big man somehow? But, pretending for a moment that you're too intelligent and dignified to resort to unprovoked ad hominem attacks, here's an answer for your question, rhetorical though your question may be: Haven't we watched and played enough God of War games to know that, if someone who makes an enemy of Kratos has any Achilles Heel or other weakness, Kratos _will_ eventually find it and exploit it? Baldur's fateful weakness is and always has been mistletoe; just check the Prose Edda and other collections of Norse myths if you don't believe me. No matter where in the series Baldur had popped up, Baldur would have popped up, he would have gotten on Kratos' bad side, the two of them would have kicked each other around for a while, then Kratos would have read an inscription, or knocked over a telltale artifact, or asked the right person, or thrown Baldur into a mistletoe-infested fir tree, or whatever...and he would have learned that mistletoe is Baldur's Achilles Heel. Then Kratos would have jammed a sharp mistletoe twig through Baldur's eye (or whatever) before gut-raping Baldur with the Blade of Olympus (or whatever). That's how these games have played out quite a few times, is it not? So is this a good enough answer for you, or do I have to follow it with a vulgar insult against your intelligence in order for you to acknowledge it?
So.... In Norse mythology, Laufey is Loki's mother. Laufey = Fey. Loki's father is Farbauti, the cruel striker referring to lightning. Kratos is cruel in some ways and is the son of the god of thunder, Zeus.. So Kratos is Farbauti's representation in the game? Holy moly, that's amazing!
I see Kratos and Baldur as Batman and Joker. Kratos is serious just like batman with a deep voice(except the fact that kratos has a natural deep voice while batman makes it) while baldur is just like, "Why so serious?"
I was never a God of War fan but this game is beyond outstanding and is a shining example of story telling molded with engaging and immersive gameplay. Truth be told, I would never spend $60 on a single player game these days. I would however, spend $60 for God of War
I also love how Atreus's character progression goes throughout God Of War 2018 as well! He goes from being a sensitive boy to a capable smart and strong archer who's able to fight at his father's side and his father is so proud of the warrior his son has grown into!
Gun Blade yes, fantards ruin everything with their blind devotion and refusal to acknowledge and mention issues that prevent the game from being better..
SuperAwesomeWeirdGuy agreed completely. Having an opinion is one thing, but kids on the internet are just so desperate to look “edgy” and “different”. Like they never got attention at home or something.
Kratos: "You, uh... You know all this was your fault, right, Freya? Baldur's enchantment, his ensuing insanity, the fact that you apparently have magic that can resurrect people from the dead but you still had some hardcore neurosis about your son dying... Even right up to this point where you chose to stick around and endanger yourself even though you knew that your safety was the one thing at the center of this entire conflict. Hell, you even willingly offered your own life to Baldur despite me having proven time and time again that I was perfectly willing to kill your son over that very thing... You're kind of a dumb, irrational bitch, you know that, Freya?"
Freya: [ Has the ability to transform into a bird and fly away ] Kratos: That ability would be really handy right about now. Because we've basically established by this point that Baldur can't kill me and the dude's a God, I can't really kill him accidentally so as long as I just agree not to hurt him, that basically means we've got a stalemate and you can leave, thus defusing the situation, right? Freya: No.

Venom Snake I'd still go with Quiet
She is the the goddess of beauty, death and war. So that makes sense. Imagine her with her Valkire Wings.
She's the goddess of beauty
that was the greatest hour of my life.... thank you so much for making this
I don't care what anyone says, I love this game, just like I love every other game in the series. Good story, great character design, and a wealth of possibilities.
Willy et scientia Go fuck yourself.
Delusional fanboy
Wot lol
Willy et scientia why because he has a different opinion than you ?
James Page I totally agree with you on that I love the way the games keeps you interested and show how much Kratos changed
After all the violence and vengeance kratos sought upon it is finally great to see that he passes on new values to his son who he's teaching to not only survive but be a better person, a better god than he once was. Kratos truly shows as a god, warrior, and father he truly is wise and virtuous.
6:08 that kick though.
Atreus: Father, what happened to Zeus?
Kratos: Boi... I pressed O multiple times for 5 minutes straight.
Brought back some memories bro
I feel for him. Going so long without emotions and pain would warp your view of everything. He can't even fully express the sense of lose because it was taken from him. Decades trapped behind a metaphysical wall the prevented him from connecting with the world around him.
Add to that God like power and you have a man with issues but somewhat tragic like Kratos himself.
4:38 It was at that moment, that Players (and Kratos) realized that this first boss wasn't going to be easy.
*Let’s take a moment to appreciate the camera man because he’s always in the middle of those dangerous fights recording*
Wtf you said
Laufey is Loki's mother and the real name of Faye Boy's mother. Kratos is named Fárbauti by the giants, Loki's father. Confirmed by lore.
@@65firered Farbauti also means "cruel striker" so maybe it was never meant to be literal, but that fits Kratos pretty well, at least in the earlier games.
Actually Loki is jormungandr’s mother, not his father
57:01 BOI we must continue your training.
Just replayed the original trilogy and I know now what's missing. The quick time events, I loved having to rapidly perform button combos while getting glorious over the top action and killing sequences. The bosses were also less linear in fighting style
Just wanted to say what a great video kept me occupied for a while watched it in two sittings it was great nice work and good job defeating those bosses keep up the great content and keep making awesome videos thank you for your content🙂🙂🙂
Masterpiece! I have played every God of War ever made, I am 46 years old and because of Kratos i will never stop gaming. Would like to see a movie before i die though.
Same. Are you excited for ragnarok?
Next game of God Of War. (SPOILER)
Kratos VS Pastafarianism.
Final Boss: The Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Hidden ultraboss: Papa Bear

Batman's Justice THIS IS SO EXCITING
Batman's Justice and the joker
Yes! YES!!! YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHZZZZZZZ!
Yeah, I am aware of that. Just wanted to point it out. But, thanks.
Of course, considering who Atreus turned out to be, it's actually kind of brilliant.

Lord of Lightning's more aggressive brother in law.
Almond Joy very true.... both bosses were epic tho
You learned to not spoil every boss in the thumbnail. Nice

Amazing game, really wise character which is new in games. I prefer this than the old gore.
@@christianlloyd9739look at me i me i play games for blood and boobs ,im mature xDxdx
Inagine if the old kratos was the one who fought baldur he would be wiped within seconds
Shamsaiyan he nigga he’s immortal stupid without his son aiding him . He would lose get over it .
The image on the wall of Kratos laying on Atreus lap as he takes his last breath next to his son.... That broke my heart and I'm crying so much rn
When he snapped that first guys neck I was like, bet cha felt that
Baldur's theme is awesome. Loved this game, cant wait for the sequels

not even close. hes just conor mcgregor
He reminds me of Connor McGregor.
El Nino I thought of jack sparrow at fiest
Lmao yea it’s Conor 😂
Baldur is definitely one of my favorite villians after watching this.
MrFrenglish Amazing how ?
Heh. Thats a good point
Ye....
I see Kratos and Baldur as Batman and Joker. Kratos is serious just like batman with a deep voice(except the fact that kratos has a natural deep voice while batman makes it) while baldur is just like, "Why so serious?"
Awesome boss fights by the way and you did a great job with the video editing as well! Nice work!

I mean the bosses are repetitive
Every game needs criticism to become better
Gun Blade yes, fantards ruin everything with their blind devotion and refusal to acknowledge and mention issues that prevent the game from being better..

Freya: [ Has the ability to transform into a bird and fly away ]
Kratos: That ability would be really handy right about now. Because we've basically established by this point that Baldur can't kill me and the dude's a God, I can't really kill him accidentally so as long as I just agree not to hurt him, that basically means we've got a stalemate and you can leave, thus defusing the situation, right?
Freya: No.
